Great weekend away

Breakfast was fabulous, plenty of choice. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Loved the co-ordinated colours in the bedroom.

This is not a go at the guest house but at booking.com. The free parking became an issue the evening before travel. When I booked booking.com said it was free parking, only a week before arrival did I get an email stating I needed to supply my vehicle details including registration, which I did by return. I sent the details but got no response. When speaking with Mike, the host, he said that there seemed to be a ‘glitch’ with booking.com and messages were not getting through to him. Disappointingly there was no available free parking but to give Mike his due, he did offer to accept free of charge cancellation of my booking as this was due to no fault of my own. As this was a surprise trip for a birthday I didn’t want to cancel at such short notice and had no choice but to book private parking at a great cost to me - another time I will forget about booking.com and go direct to the accommodation

Great stay

Fantastic location, just 10/15 minute walk to city centre. Sainsbury's local few doors away and coffee shops and restaurants in the same street. Comfortable bed, very quiet during night. . Lovely I've eggs I've had in a long time.

Position of tv obscured by 4 poster bed post. Would be useful to have iron in room rather than trying to find hosts to ask for the communal one.

What a great place to stay

The breackfast was great well made and the quality of the products use fantastic, would recommend to anyone as the place to stay. The room was quite and comfortable and we where not pestered but left to do are own thing

Exceptional

Host was very friendly and welcoming. The guest house was absolutely spotless and breakfast was great. It is only a few minutes walk to all the local attractions and I would thoroughly recommend this guest house to anyone planning a trip to York.

very nice but noise level above room let it down

very clean well maintained

we were in room 6. room above could be heard through ceiling both tv and movement. early alarm woke us up each morning also. had to raise noise on our tv to hear it over room above.

Superb

Great location for getting into the centre, The guest house was exceptionally clean, the breakfast was lovely and cooked to perfection. Owner was pleasant and very informative and of anything we asked.

Slight damp smell from the bathroom, but apart from that it was perfect and we had a lovely stay. Would recommend.

the little detail’s nothing is overlooked. you are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrived. the inner courtyard space was exceptional.

Different breakfast choices. Chose day before and picked a time and was ready for you. Lovely owner. Walking distance to centre and sight seeing places.

Immaculately clean and very comfortable. Lovely courtyard garden with seating. Delicious cooked breakfast using local produce. Great location just off the popular ‘Bishy Road’, just a 10 minute walk into York city centre.

Very good

The room was comfy and lovely big bathroom with good hot shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for walking into York. Fabulous Pub with best grub, the masons Arms only 10 minute walk away.

The pillows were hard and uncomfortable for me. Breakfast was OK. No fried eggs with full English only poached or scrambled.

The Dairy guest house was everything and more than we expected for the money paid. Breakfast was beautiful and just enough to set you up for the day ahead. Great location also.
