About this cabin rental
This quaint property sits on a beautiful part of Cypress Creek where you can enjoy a smooth glass of wine on the back deck as the deer leisurely stroll by.
The house is beautifully decorated with designer touches complete with a gourmet kitchen, granite countertops, mesquite wood floors, stone wood burning fireplace, large bedroom with a king pillow top bed and claw foot tub. The Crossland House is just a short walk to to our historic square.
Rest assured, a relaxing, romantic, and rejuvenating vacation awaits you at Crossland House, soon to be your favorite spot to get away from it all.

We loved the Crosslamd House. There are other houses on the property yet it was private. It was a short walk to Wimberly Square. The kitchen was very nice and the house is very spacious.

So close to downtown but when you’re back at the cabin you’re pretty much secluded. The house was clean but we also paid for the use of the hot tub. That was not! Hot tub was included in the description but we would not use it. It was filthy.

The good: The cabin is very nice, clean, well appointed. It is set on a quiet and private area. The fixtures, tub, Jacuzzi, bedding, all very nice. The property is also very close to the downtown area, just one street passed the river.
The bad: The cabin is listed as waterfront in three different locations. It happens to be one of the cabins farthest from the creek. Even listed under amenities, it says "waterfront". When we arrived and realized our cabin location, I called the property manager and told him, this cabin is supposed to be waterfront, and he said, no, it was described as creek access. He either is dishonest or does not know what he is talking about. Either way, no effort was made to correct the situation even though there was another cabin sitting on the water front unused for the weekend. I have screen shot three different areas from the ad that say "water front" or that the property is on the creek. This is very misleading, so buyer beware.
The ugly: The check in process was an exercise in futility. Multiple check instructions was confusing and unnecessary. The WiFi password did not match the network. When asked for the correct password, property manager responded 8 hours later with, it is on the sheet of paper. We did get an apology that it wasn't working. later but no resolution.
Bottom line, nice cabin, great location, property manager not helpful and does not truthfully represent property.

The property was exactly what we were looking for during this trip to Wimberley. Cool days and chilly evenings... perfect for soaking in a hot tub which was the main criteria for choosing this property.
When we arrived I checked the hot tub... not good! The unit is heavily worn. But, that's not the issue the hot tub was dirty, the water was very low and cloudy.
So, I sent a note to the property manager and was told the water level and chemistry was just fine as it was serviced that day. I responded that the hot tub was dirty, they responded that it was just leaves. I said no this is not leaves... it's dirt. Absolutely no response. Wish I could post the pictures!
The floors in the house were terrible. We wore socks the whole time and they were black from dirt.
This was our 51st anniversary... we were hoping for more than we received.

Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy the hot tub due to the outside temperatures. We hope to return when there is cooler weather outside.

We loved staying at the Crossland House. It was a perfect location for restaurants, shops and water activities. We also loved the deer visitors every day. The house could use some small maintenance repairs such as light bulbs being out and also one of the handles on the tub was falling off. It was a cute house though.

Very clean. Very beautiful property. Quiet and relaxing. Cabin is near the creek. ( creek cottage is actually on the creek ).
Few suggestions for improvement: make sure all light fixtures have working bulbs. Electrical outlets in bedroom did not function at all.

This place is a true gem. Perched right at creek side there are beautiful cypress trees and a fabulous view of the creek that runs straight into Wimberley. There are paddle boats available too. We saw squirrels, lots of deer, an armadillo and even a fox literally from our front door. The property was gorgeous.
The house was great too, though missing a few key details. The kitchen and living room were huge and had everything we need except details about Wi-Fi. There were no instructions whatsoever, except how to work the television. The furniture was nice, and the breezeway was very relaxing. The master bedroom was large as well and the bed was extremely comfortable. I only wish there had been a working lamp and some sort of dresser for us to unpack. The clawfoot tub was fabulous, except the left handle kept falling off the faucet. Also there needs to be a small table near the tub since there is no where to put your toiletries when bathing. Several lightbulbs were out so lighting in the whole place was a bit challenging. I’m a Texas girl, so I appreciate my make up!
The check in process was confusing since the email instructed us to go to Brookshire Brothers to pick up our key. I think the email just needs to be updated. We gave up and went straight to the property, then found our key easily from there.
All in all, this was a fabulous place to stay. I would definitely stay again! I do hope management, read these notes and makes a few small corrections.

Location is great. It's secluded with several other rentals on same property and creek is a short walking distance. I would check all the light fixtures in ceiling under vent hood in kitchen and make sure no working ones get replaced. Also need to fix electrical outlets on kitchen countertop. 3 of them are not working. Make sure coffee pot is cleaned out. It was dirty and had left over coffee grounds in it. I received two different emails from Vrbo that were conflicting on the key to the place. One says pick up keys at office and the other said key will be under the mat. So made extra trip to office, nobody there when we got there. Went to house and key was under mat. The check out was also confusing as one email says bring key back to office and $25 late fee if not left by 11 am. The other email says leave the key where you found it. This is confusing and when I called the number on the window of the office I got an answering machine to leave a message. Well I did and nobody returned my call. So I messaged property manager and received a message back saying "leave the key happy Easter." So it really did not answer my quest as to where to leave the keys. So I left the key under the mat. Communication is not that good. Also, there needs to be an outside light somewhere around hot tub. Can't see anything out there at night. Had to use a flashlight. There's are recommendations so you next tenants will find your rental well and you will get 5 stars next time.

We had a lovely weekend and definitely recommend this place for a couples weekend away. The grounds are beautiful, they have an amazing fire pit stocked with wood, and we saw so many different birds (and even some deer and a fox!). Between the fire pit and the hot tub, this would be a great place to stay any time of year. Some previous comments talked about issues with the hot tub and wifi, but both worked great for us. The bed is very comfy too.
The pics of the house don’t do it justice. It’s very roomy, lots of nice windows and decorated beautifully. The property owners were very responsive as well. We hope to visit again soon!

We loved the Crossland cabin! So clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed being able to walk easily to restaurants and the grocery store, and the easy access to Cypress Creek. We used the provided kayaks and paddles at least twice! Next time we visit Wimberley, we'll definitely try to book this property again.

Surprisingly clean and comfortable. Good location for walking access the city center. Nice creek with kayaks, boards, canoe and chairs. Grounds are well watered and green. We will be back.

This cottage/house and surrounding grounds are very well maintained and is located down a very quite road in the middle of town. Deer roamed the grounds in the morning and evening and was a very peaceful stay.
Although not a negative for most, we found having other cabins on the property so close to one another, to be a little privacy concerning, as we didn't expect it based on the photos in the listing.
Other than that, this place was a "10"

After reading the reviews about the internet, we wasn't really concerned about until we needed to send something out and for that, we waited until we went out sightseeing for better cell signal on the main road to send emails out.
The claw foot tub was really cool! The bed was very, very comfortable. The hot tub needed more TLC and the water was a little low so we passed on using it. Overall, I great little property with its own personality and charm. This is definitely on my list to return to again. Not to mention, it's a good setting to take pictures.
The rest of the houses on the property were beautiful with its own charm and character. The real attraction was the amount of deer that just show up and graze on the property. They're not really afraid of you, but will be watching your every move. Take it slow driving in off and on the property because the deer are all over the place before getting to the main road.
Take your camera, enjoy the closeness of nature, and take it all in as you enjoy your time there.

This place really exceeded expectations! We stayed 2 nights, once we checked in the place was clean and it had a beautiful creek near by, plus walking distance to the downtown area. The only complaint was that wifi didn't seem to work, and no response back about the wifi on our first night. But other than that the stay was really wonderful, and would recommend anyone looking for a peaceful spot out of the city! Thanks again!
