Memorably beautiful.

The location was great, close to scenic walks and great restaurants. Moments after we arrived Richard popped by to welcome us and to let us know that he would be nearby if there was anything we might need. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a heated floor in the bathroom and we particularly liked the floor to ceiling windows which looked directly into the lush garden. Shortly after we settled into our room we were greeted by a tui who regularly stopped in the tree directly outside our window to sing his beautiful song. We were so impressed and it was one of the highlights of our trip in the Bay of Islands. Outside the room had a porch with a small table and two chairs to further enjoy the garden setting and views down to the river, we didn’t use it as it had been raining and the seats were wet. We were sorry not to have had more time to stay at such a special place as there is a lot more to it than the rooms.

If I had to find something I would suggest a couple of bath robes would be helpful when dashing into the kitchen in the morning for some milk, as it was not provided inside the mini fridge in our room.

A beautiful open space, very comfortable and we liked the eco friendly products that were supplied for the bathroom space.

Just that the outdoor bath wasn’t set up very nicely as advertised, but maybe we should have asked in advanced so that is probably our bad.

What an absolute gem in Kerikeri. A beautiful lodge with your own lovely room with ensuite Then you also get to use all the other lodge facilities. Richard is a helpful friendly host.

Relaxed luxury set amongst native bush and birdsong

The property was gorgeous. Our room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking native bush, with a balcony and lots of beautiful birdsong. The use of the well-appointed shared kitchen and BBQ was great. We cooked in a couple of nights and enjoyed the spacious dining and living area almost every evening. Breakfast ingredients were supplied for you to put together as you wished (cereal, bread, butter, jam, eggs etc). There was an espresso machine too which was a really nice touch. Richard, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful, as was Amelia, the cleaner. We also has in room massages arranged by Richard, which were glorious - highly recommend Annamieke, our massage therapist.

Great location for sightseeing

Size of the room and bathroom were great. Access to the communal areas worked well for us as we like to be on our own so we didn't need to 'stay in our room'. Easy instructions to get into the building were available. Wifi was excellent.

I misunderstood that there are a number of rooms that are 'let' with a communal kitchen / lounge / dining area. Luckily we were the only ones there on our 1 night which suited us. The mosquitos are killers. Suggest that personal insect repellent is recommended as I came home with a couple of inflammatory bites (and no, I didn't scratch them to cause this). Mozzies are coming up through the pipes even with the screens on windows. Two TV channels only - really???

Loved the surroundings but the hospitality needs work.

stunning location, beautiful views, very clean

was a bit weird that I barely clapped eyes on the owners. On arrival it was unclear which room was mine, and I couldn’t raise anyone on checking out; although I could hear them nobody responded to my knocking. I didn’t have a local SIM card so calling the number provided cost a fortune and took several attempts before I could connect. Bizarre!

It was great having the kitchen to use and all manner of "breakfast foods" were available. The lounge was sunny, comfortable and very inviting.

We couldn't "find" the heater. We didn't think to look by the kettle, on the wall where the heat pump control wand was kept. You would have though we would have seen it, and the heat pump, but no!! LOL

Fantastic location amongst the NZ bush

The spacious room is set amongst the NZ bush so the ambience is calm and quiet. The weather was not so good whilst we were there but we could imagine lots of bird life out there in the bush. Great informative host. Excellent shared area with kitchen, lounge and fireplace. Excellent bathroom and shower. Easy walking to an excellent restaurant just down the road next to the stone store.

We had an early morning start and the exterior lighting wasn't the best outside the entry.

Self-service breakfast which was adequate for what we needed. Fairly handy to town and very close walking distance to the Stone Store. Lovely outlook in the bush.

Nice quiet location near the water; a short walk to a lovely restaurant; and also to the Honey Cafe

Breakfast supplies were available to guests to help themselves. There was a good selection and very nice organic milk for making espresso coffees. The property was a short walk to the waterfront and also to a very nice restaurant just up the road.

fantastic only wish we had stayed longer!

I loved the views from the room

someone left the door open to the deck by accident so we had some mosquito when we came in late at night but they have a screen to prevent that so an easy fix. it was an honest mistake I’m sure. we still loved the room and how clean and cosy it was

Great location to beautiful walking tracks and cafe's and restaurants. Beautiful peaceful, quiet setting with gorgeous bush views. Comfy bed.

looking forward to going back with my husband in the summertime

It was clean, quiet, warm, close to town but also close to walkways. Loved the fireplace and excellent shower.

The breakfast was self serve and I didn't manage to make a decent coffee with the machine.

I’ll only stay somewhere else in Kerikeri if the Stone Store Lodge is fully booked.

The thoughtful consideration given to all aspects of their guests needs. From the quality design and facilities of the room and public areas supported by first class friendly service. A lovely place!

I couldn’t get to enjoy a second night there.

SHORT-SWEET & MEMORABLE

Location -easy to find. Property is gorgeous. Our room was big, we got everything we need-comfy bed, many pillows (request granted) , very spacious, big bathroom and heated floor. Surrounded by a lush garden. WiFi fast. Had a great breakfast, huge kitchen and living area. So peaceful and you get your own privacy. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Many thanks for a memorable stay*****(5stars)
