Wonderful location, generally good value for money, but would appreciate more comfortable facilities
The location in the Yorkshire Dales is incredible and though we didn’t meet our host, she was very pleasant and chatty on the phone. We’ve stayed at Grisedale Coach House before, so we were glad to be back. The cottage was warm in cold and wet weather, so was very welcome. When it snowed our hosts came out to clear the snow and put grit both front and back of the house, which was very considerate. There were good cooking facilities and plenty of crockery, which we liked because the weather meant we stayed in more than we might normally have done. Wi-Fi was available and worked well.
It did feel that the house had been stripped of a lot of material, such as maps of the area (we were in great walking country) and some local information, other than tourist leaflets, would have been very useful for our stay. This may have been due to COVID or the rise in the cost of running the property, but we all felt that some parts of the cottage were starting to look a bit tired inside. The bedding was clean and the house in general was very tidy, but the pillows and quilts were rather old and there could have been more attention to providing a more comfortable lounge area. The lack of any cushions meant we had to use bed pillows to make the chairs more comfortable and we had to use upturned waste bins as side tables for our cups of tea.

Very good
A lovely cottage, very comfortable, in a great location and with good facilities.
Perhaps a greater variety of cooking utensils might have been helpful.

Great for friends.
Beautiful location with plenty of good walks from the door; we didn't need to use the car for the weekend! There are lots of single beds and plenty of bathrooms to accommodate a group of friends. It is warm and spacious. There is a large kitchen with two fridges and a freezer. There is working oven and judging from previous reviews the hob has been replaced.
The pans and bedding are ready for replacement.

Spacious, well presented and comfortable cottage in a beautiful scenic area.
Bedding a little bit old and worn, but was clean and comfortable.

Exceptional
Loved the homemade cookies our hosts left for us and the fact that they left milk in the fridge and that's. After 2hrs in the car car with our grandchildren it was so welcome! The cookies went down well with them too. Many thanks for a really enjoyable stay.

Exceptional
Good size apartment with plenty of cooking and dining items. Great to have plenty of cups! Property is great value for money, four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was a bonus. Plenty of parking, beautiful views, and a pheasant calling round for snacks! Warm and comfortable.
Extra bedding would have been good, blankets and pillows for those that like a warmer bed.

Grisedale Coach House 4 night stay
Very clean and well equipped cottage for a group of eight. Good location for local walks and visiting Grassington and Skipton by car. Lovely food in the Old Hall Inn in Threshfield village. We all had a very comfortable stay.
