Very good

Accommodation was good , views were lovely and location was perfect for what we wanted to do

A great stay to get out in the countryside and has great facilities and views and fair price!

The views, very secure, quiet location, had everything you needed for a relaxing stay. liked the fact the garden was gated and fenced off so felt safe letting the dog roam about outside. The double bed was very comfortable.

The sofa bed in living the mattress wasn’t very comfy. property itself was furnished and decorated to a great standard. Did not realise there were stairs which was worrying for the dog or if you had a small child. In saying that it wouldn’t put me off from booking to stay there again. You do need a car though as a drive from shops and local amenities. Not really walking distance to shops etc but there is a good pub nearby.

Excellent place for a retreat!

The lodge was very clean and had all the facilities you need. The location is fantastic with great views. It’s very quiet and waking up to the dawn chorus is very pleasant. Sarah was very proactive and provided us with very helpful and detailed information before our stay. Will definitely recommend staying here!

Idyllic weekend escape

Liked everything about the lodge.Couldnt fault a thing.We only live 45 mins away,ideal to just escape for the weekend.Close to Chatsworth estate and Bakewell.Ideal place to chill and shut yourself away.Will definitely recommend and come back to.

Our poor dog is partially sighted and wouldn't come down the stairs.Luckily there was another set of steps leading from the bedroom to the outside so she used these.

The perfect escape

An immensely clean and well presented property with wonderful views of the surrounding moorland. My wife and I were desperate to escape the rat race for a weekend and this lodge allowed us to do that and then some. I have no doubt we'll return - and not just to give big fusses to the lovely family dogs.

Cannot wait to return!

My partner and I had a lovely stay! The views around the property are stunning, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend break. We will definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend enough!

great location and lovely little lodge.

the property is In a great location for going to different hikes. had pretty much every thing you needed for a short stay. it is pretty clean, lovely enclosed garden with fire burner, table and chairs. absolutely amazing view out the sitting room window. close to the Robin Hood pub which you can walk to through the garden and through the woods in 10 mins. lovely food here. a few different walks from next to the Robin Hood pub.

it could do with a sweeping brush and dust pan as I am a bit of a clean freak and was hard to see bits on kitchen floor all weekend. and could do with directions to where the wheelie bins were as we had to hunt them down. also the rug was full of dog hair as when I sat down on the rug to put a dvd on my legs were covered in dog hair. would be best to have a flat rug that can be hoovered and cleaned properly. I also cleaned down the stairs on second day as noticed they hadn’t been done. like I said this could just be me being a clean freak. nothing bad all in all to complain about this is just if I have to pick something to write.

Great accommodation for two.

Everything to a high quality, lovely hotel bedding, Temple Spa products, warm and comfortable.

The only thing we can think of, is that there were only 5 mugs - had to keep washing a couple up!

Amazing property with nice view

The property has a really nice view. It's pretty close from the main road but there was not any noise heard from inside. It got everything we need, extremely clean and well-maintained.

Lovely stay in the White Peak

The kitchen had everything you could need, bed was super comfy and views across the moors were lovely from the outside area. It was very private with no one overlooking the property. The local dogs are very friendly. Loved the views and close proximity to Chatsworth Estate. Lots of nearby walks if you don't want to use the car.

Perfect short break.

Perfect for a few days away, very clean & comfortable with secure small garden for your dog. Owners very helpful & their 3 dogs very friendly. Walks & places to visit close by.

Enjoyable, and the friendly dogs running in the grounds were fun.

Good bed

The toilet seat threatened to emasculate me every time I sat on it. My wife also had trouble with the seat but was, naturally, not thus threatened. Of course I complained. The owner said that the seat was designed for easy removal for cleaning. Maybe so, but of no comfort to the user.
