Relaxing, comfortable and quiet

Very well equipped cottage with many facilities, such as dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, perfect for a family and those wanting to cook and eat meals. Comfortable, clean, pleasant decor. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Bedroom curtains quite thin, so let the light through a fair bit.

Lovely little cottage!

Great little gem. We loved the location!! The cottage was really nice, clean and cosy! Would love to come back again in the future to do the things we weren't able to do

Last minute break

Liked the location and cottage was well looked after.

Could have done with either a blind or thicker curtains in bedroom as it was too light to sleep in as soon as dawn broke it was so light in room I couldn't get back to sleep.

Lovely stay

Great location for Alton Towers. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking family meals and handy dishwasher. Lovely arrival package from owners upon arrival was a nice touch. Beds were super comfortable.

Absolutely wonderful but too short!

Absolutely fabulous… charming cottage in very peaceful location. Furnished with everything you could need and very comfortable. Owners are lovely too

Great cottage - very well equipped.

Excellent location, lovely, well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Very helpful host - Liz made us very welcome, with great suggestion for shopping to be delivered. Good pub nearby - The Barley Mow, excellent food. Great for walking from the property and Chatsworth a short drive away. Lots to do in the area.

Overall enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

Quiet location. Parking right outside the door. Lovely welcome pack, biscuits and wine a good touch, very welcome! Both village pubs really good and welcoming. I didn't need to bring basics, toilet and kitchen roll, soap, shampoo etc all provided.

The small outside area doesn't get a lot of sun. Not much of a view from the cottage. Didn't like being woken at 5am by the boiler next to my head. A shelf in the shower would be helpful.

The cottage was quiet and we had a very relaxing time

It was like home from home. everything you could ever need was there. The cottage was exceptional clean and very comfortable.

Superb

A bag of little things, a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine on the table, that was lovely surprise. Lovely and welcoming atmosphere when we got there, we all felt relaxed. The area is stunning, plenty of good walks. Good pubs too. Definitely would be coming back there again. The owners were brilliant too.

Exceptional

Amazing place. Remote enough to feel like a proper break with a lovely village just down the hill. Hosts were informative and polite and we couldn't have been happier with our break from the kids. We will be coming back and staying in a bigger cottage with the little monsters in tow.

Exceptional

We stayed in 3 of the properties and each one was very clean and had a great layout. The Barn was big enough for our whole party to socialise and eat together in. The welcome pack was great and comprehensive, having all the cleaning products and loo roll we needed for our stay. Even had kitchen roll! The wine and biscuits were a fantastic surprise. Also a wonderful location with walks into Matlock, Matlock Bath and Cromford.

Really enjoy

Liz free upgrade our cottage, she provides milk. biscuits, shampoo, conditioner...... The environment is so relax, cottage in a farm area, we took lots of pictures the beds are so comfortable, the shower is hot enough and relax lots of cooking utensils

the road is a bit narrow to come but OK

Pictures don't do this beautiful cottage justice. Many original features that just add beauty to the home from home. Fully equipped with more than you'd need for your stay and a lovely unexpected welcome pack x x perfectly located to be hidden away just a shirt walk to local amenities and a few miles to great attractions and days out. We didn't want to leave and will definitely rebook x thanks for everything liz x

Superb

Nice places near by, lots for kids to do a big field to play on and near to pubs. Booking the barn and end barn was perfect for our party.

It is quite hilly to get to the village but that's not the accomodation fault.

Lovely stay that ended too soon.

Perfect little getaway in a beautiful cottage with two bedrooms (The Farrows). Hosts are super nice and very helpful should there be any questions. Surrounding countryside is stunning and destinations like Chatsworth House are within easy driving distance.

Fabulous location for exploring the Peak District in great accommodation.

The location was absolutely fabulous! Beautiful views within peaceful Derbyshire Dales countryside and so well located for excellent walks in the Peak District National Park. "Barn End" provided all the facilities we needed for a very enjoyable family stay over the Easter period. Thank you Liz.

Wonderful, relaxing and comfortable

We loved the rustic location and the attention to detail in the cottage. Everything was neat, clean and thoughtfully arranged. We met the hosts who are very friendly and accessible as they live at the location. We loved our stay!

We were worried the children would hurt themselves on the door latches as they stick but we padded them using socks, problem solved!
