Lovely small pub with great service

Lovely pub in a tiny town, close to the coast. Very comfortable and decor in good taste. Hosts are amazingly helpful and welcoming, and as new owners are making a big effort to renew yet keep up the spirit and prestige of the dining. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

A jewel of modern excellence with innovative food offered with a friendly and top quality service

Lost in the Exmoor naional park in a small village, this hotel is a surprise to discover as the rooms are among the mostbeautiful we have seen during our trip. Allis totally modern and even with a touch of high-end design: a special mention to the bathroom that is the most modern and elegant one that we have seen in our entire trip: even our fully new bathroom at home is not so beautiful ! And the restaurant is serving innovative and delicious meals with a breakfast made just for you according your taste. Fantastic experience of englishness !

Really nothing. this has been a dream stay that we can only recommend to all persons visting the beautiful Exmoor National park. THE place to stay !

A great place to stay in the centre of Exmoor.

Very friendly staff and delicious food. I was able to store my bicycle securely overnight.

The mattress was very soft.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay and sorry to leave.

It felt as though you were staying with relatives. mum and I were made to feel so welcomed. The rooms were comfortable and exceptionally clean and well presented. The views were awesome.

Enjoyable overnight stay.

Amazing food, the rooms were lovely and the staff were friendly.

The cosy lounge advertised was not available as it was being used by family. We were disappointed; when we arrived we were told we could come down to the bar for a drink but the bar was dark and cold and unwelcoming so we sat in our room until dinner.

The quality of the rooms was amazing very good quality furniture and the bed was so comfortable towels where nice and soft very helpfull staff will be back here again without a doubt

A very pleasant stay in a really nice pub.

A nice pub with a very nice room and bathroom . Excellent food, fantastic breakfast, good ale and very friendly, helpful staff. Very good value and definitely will stay again and recommend

The bed was a little soft for my liking but otherwise a very good, spacious and well equipped room.

Lovely relaxed stopover.

The fox and goose was easy to find though , down a very narrow road. The bedroom was lovely and large and well equipped. Lovely having home made biscuits and to be able to make drinks. We had an evening meal which was gorgeous and the breakfast was great as well all made fresh and to order. Very relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely use again if in the area.

The outside of the building gives nothing away, but inside, you’ll find a warm welcome in stylish and comfortable surroundings where nothing is too much trouble.

One night in Parracombe

Good location. Lovely room. Good food. Good parking. Good WiFi. Friendly owner and staff. What's not to like!

Will return again to this quiet location.

Breakfast was pretty good, was going elsewhere for sunday lunch but had to cancel due to large breakfast here.

Everywhere can be 'ridiculed' by some critic's. Here is a quiet location, seemingly popular pub with good food. menu's to be fair IS EXPENSIVE, but I would return. The rooms are spotless, and would come here again

Great place to stay, excellent food.

Lovely room, good facilities, smashing view and very comfortable. Great food, excellent menu, friendly service.

More information on arrival would be helpful. We found out things as we went along, particularly covid rules relating to our room.

Just lovely

Lovely friendly pub in Parracombe near to many great places to visit. Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Very good quality food and beer make it a wonderful place to stay. Definitely one to return to and as soon as possible!

New Gold Standard.

Everything. Following the retirement of Kay and Richard from The Heatherville at Lynmouth, The Fox & Goose is now my gold standard. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and the room was fabulous. As for Nicki & Paul - the best hosts.

5 Night break

Victorian building next to small river in ancient village. Bedroom was a good size nicely decorated and good views over river and fields. Large bathroom with under floor heating and a walk-in rain forest shower with plenty of hot water. Pub and dinning areas recently tastefully refurbished. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Evening meals all home cooked using local produce with comprehensive blackboard menu - enough for two of us to have something different every night. Nice atmosphere big thanks to Nikki and her team for a very enjoyable stay we will be back

An overnight stay for shooting trip

The pub is a traditional country pub with decor and a good selection of local beers. The food menu was quite extensive, but also very good. The pate was great, the Steak and Guiness pie was very good. The roast potatoes were exceptional. A great full English in the morning too. They were able to accommodate a last m nite change of plan too, because of Corona 👍🏼

Exceptional

Lovely country pub. Hospitable and friendly but unobtrusive hosts. Locally sourced food. Breakfast delicious and we recommend the fish stew and game pie as dinner options. Room comfy, quiet and very clean. Home made biscuits too!
