Heel mooie en grote accommodatie in een centrale maar drukke straat.
Prachtig oud huis op een zeer centrale lokatie. Prima ingericht. Ook de bedden waren goed.
De geluiden uit de straat waren in de nacht irritant.

If you’re visiting York & want to stay somewhere that reflects it, then this is THE place to be!
Large and charmingly very old. Beautifully renovated and nicely furnished with a gorgeous view of a church out of the back windows. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The entrance and quirky layout added to the overall atmospheric feel of stepping back through the centuries! We loved it!
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Nice experience for staying in a heritage building with beautiful character and interior decoration
Location is good as it is close to the railway station, and walking to the city centre only takes a few minutes. Nearby there are also some restaurants and supermarkets. The building itself is a heritage with over 400 years history. The furniture interior decoration follows the theme and is full of character. It is beautifully decorated with historic embroidery paintings on the wall. It is prettier than what are shown in Booking.com. The facilities in the kitchen are sufficient too, though there is very limited supply of coffee and tea.
The living room is located on the top floor (attic) so that you may not have the energy to go up to sit in the sofa for social /family communication during the stay after a day's sightseeing walk. The heating for water may need boosting to get hot enough water for shower at night, which can be easily accommodated by pushing the "boost" button and with the fan heater in the toilet to keep warm. On the ground floor, there is nothing but a long bench, and it is dark there. So you cannot take a rest immediately after arriving back the property after a long day. You have to walk upstairs to your bedroom but cannot lie on the beds due to dirtiness of clothes. The dining chairs in the dining room and kitchen on the 1st floor are also too hard for a rest.

Lovely large quirky property in great location
Very quirky property in a good location. Very roomy and warm. Beds comfy especially the double in the large room.
Stairs very steep. The gate code was very hard to get in ( a helpful man on the street had to help me get in as the lock could do with oiling) Would like a little later check out.

Very central and an unusual place to stay, but pretty noisy at night.
Very quirky and spacious. Good position near city centre. Good supply of kitchen equipment and basics.
Cleanliness left something to be desired - kitchen/ bathroom facilities all clean, but window frames and inside wardrobe very dusty and grubby. More hangers would have been appreciated, I think we had 5 for 6 people.

The location is excellent and the property is full of character, which made for a fun family stay.
Property has plenty of space, is full of character and very well located in the middle of York.
The property would benefit from a bit of maintenance here and there, but nothing to detract from our stay. We were fine with the stairs, but not for those with mobility problems.
