The most amazing family. So helpful in planning our days, recommended an amazing driver, cooked delicious breakfast and dinners, and truly made us feel at home. Would book again in a heartbeat!

Knowledgeable host always there for you when you need!

Great view. Close to the city and train station. Nice breakfast. Host helped me planned my day with a tutuk tour. He always makes sure you are safe and back from your hikes. His kids are sweet too! Good wifi and warm showers.

Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt in Ordnung.

Die Aussicht von dem Balkon ist wirklich sehenswert. Wir hatten jeweils ein Mittagessen und ein Frühstück in der Unterkunft. Beides war sehr frisch, lecker und typisch Sri Lankanisch. Der Preis pro Mahlzeit ist mit 5$ pro Person jedoch schon etwas höher. Der Host spricht sehr gut englisch und ist bemüht seinen Gästen einen Erlebnisreichen Aufenthalt zu bieten.

Das Mobiliar in den Zimmern ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Unser Bett war komplett durchgelegen und es sollten auch neue Kissen besorgt werden. Es ist leider sehr hellhörig und man bekommt alles von seinen Nachbarn mit.

Vi kunne ikke forestille os et mere behageligt ophold efter nogle lange rejsedage end Il Villino. Det eneste der topper den enestående udsigt og de rolige omgivelser er vores værts fantastiske service. Vi blev taget super godt imod, han talte perfekt engelsk og havde gode tips til oplevelser. For en lille ekstra betaling serverede han både fabelagtig morgenmad og aftensmad, som man kunne vælge til og fra efter behag. Vi har sjældent oplevet så god service som her.

Excellent location, excellent host.

The owner Naleef was a lovely man who speaks excellent English & clearly wanted his guests to enjoy Haputale . He freely gave good information about the local area & his wife cooked delicious dinners & breakfasts. We stayed 3 nights. The view from the balcony and rooms was exceptional. This is an excellent base from which to explore. Thank you Naleef & family.

There are many steps leading down to the main property so if you have a mobility issue this may be difficult.

Pomimo średniej pogody pozostaliśmy 3 noce zamiast jednej :)

Widok z pokoju jest fantastyczny. Mieszkaliśmy na niższym poziomie, gdzie pokoje posiadają wyjście na dość duży taras od strony południowo zachodniej. Na wyższym poziomie pokoje posiadają balkony, ale są one nieco mniejsze niż tarasy dolnego poziomu. Pokój (środkowy) był dość przestronny. Właściciel - Naleef jest wspaniały, bardzo pomocny i z poczuciem humoru. Świetnie mówi po angielsku.

Haputale ma wspaniałą atmosferę. Jest o wiele mniej turystyczne niż Kandy czy Ella. Trzeba się jednak liczyć z dość kapryśną pogodą. Przy złej pogodzie trochę spada atrakcyjność miejsca, bo brak jest wspaniałego widoku

Nous avons adoré l’emplacement de ce guest house avec une vue fabuleuse sur les montagnes ! Nous avons vraiment bien mangé ! Un de nos meilleurs repas au Sri Lanka pour le moment ! De plus, on nous a proposé des prix vraiment attractifs en tuktuk

Fantastisch uitzicht!

Het ontbijt met uitzicht is fantastisch! Ook het diner was heerlijk en ik kon mijn wensen doorgeven. Daarnaast is de eigenaar enorm behulpzaam en hij geeft goede tips. Echt een aanrader! Ook is de ligging top, lekker dichtbij het station.

L'emplacement et la gentillesse de notre hôte. Le repas sont maison et excellents.

Evitez la chambre 1 juste à côté de la salle tv de la famille et de la salle à manger.

Prachtig uitzicht en heerlijk eten.

Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon van de kamer is fenomenaal, zelfs op de niet heel heldere dagen. We hebben ontbijt en diner gegeten en dat was lekker en goed verzorgd. De host is een bron van informatie over de omgeving, het openbaar vervoer en het eten. Een must is de rit per local bus naar Lipton’s Seat, vanwege de mooie route en de spectaculaire stuurmanskunst van de chauffeurs.

De kamer en badkamer mogen wel weer een keer geverfd worden om op te frissen. De kamer rook muffig bij binnenkomst, maar dat kan met het seizoen te maken hebben. Wij waren er aan het einde van de regentijd.

Un endroit à recommander !!

Certainement le meilleur endroit où nous ayons logé pendant notre séjour au Sri Lanka. Un hôte très accueillant, très intéressant, pleins de bons conseils et près à vous apprendre plein de choses sur son pays. L’hôtel offre une sublime vue. La nourriture est délicieuse. Nous y sommes resté 4 nuits et nous y sommes sentis très bien.

Very nice host, amazing views, comfortable stay

Very attentive host, delicious food and good location for exploring Haputale and surrounding area. Our host was very knowledgeable about the area and suggested walks and excursions. His assistant also shuttled us around the area in his Tuk Tuk for a reasonable charge which made life easy! Views of sunset (when the mist isn’t blanketing the valley) are spectacular

Room is fairly clean and cosy. Hot shower. Blanket is sufficient for the chilly weather. Host team is very hospitable and takes good care of guests. Had all my meals there, which are all delicious local fare, and they varied the menu. Had many chats with the host and team, learnt alot about local life etc. Host also helped to arrange various day trips and transfers at reasonable price, using his various contacts of drivers. Host also recommends suitable day trips based on guest preferences, and offers practical travel advice. Location is great and near the train station and town centre. Great view of the highlands from the guesthouse (whenever mist clears up). Value for money for this room price. Overall great place and would recommend.

Great host, friendly and speaking perfect English. Fantastic view from the rooms and from the dining area. Excellent Sri Lanka food both for dinner and breakfast (the latter quite spicy but still excellent)

Not much. A bit of a challenge to reach with our big luggage but the view and the hosts more than make up for it.

It was very well situated with stunning views of the valley and coast. Naleef was a very knowledgeable and engaging host with a real interest in getting to understand his guest’s needs. The food at dinner and breakfast was some of the best we had tasted in Sri Lanka.

Hot water. Crazy good view! Hairdryer provided on request. Very good communicative owner. Lovely food. Near train station. Owner will check in on your needs and safety frequently. Also a very engaging person.

Slightly stained sheets and floor is concrete. Not a big deal.

Its very down, you need to climb down many stairs. Place was ok. Staffs were excellent. but it's not good for families with elderly people. We did not stay as we had two elderly members, who may find difficult t climb up a down.

Good value and potential for improvements

The view is spectacular. Also the staff is very kind and helpful, especially the owner that is very attentive and quick-witted.

Some parts of the hotel were still under construction. The place has a lot of potential for improvements.

Mind and body at ease at Il Villino

The room was clean and comfortable with a hot shower and own balcony with superb views - weather permitting. A cup of tea on arrival goes a long way to settling in. The proprietor, NALEEF'S command of English was exceptional and his cosmopolitan life experience along with local knowledge was both helpful and intellectually stimulating.

Good stay and great host and staff. Would come back and stay again if ever I visit Haputale again.

The room and dining area has an awesome view of the mountains in Haputale. The room basically had everything for a 2 nights stay so it was decent enough for me. They also have a restaurant. While their in house chef is temporarily away, they still cooked up one of the best Sri Lankan Breakfasts I’ve tasted and went out of the way to buy me some samosas and milo. The host / owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful with the tour sites and give the best recommendations for transport to the tourist sites - in most cases a tuktuk. Saved my driver from damaging his small car on the rough roads.

Some room for improvements: While there were several lighting fixture, if I can remember only one worked in my room. Maybe some maintenance for these would do. Suggesting liquid hand soap to wash hands as needed.

Perfect!!

Everything was more than perfect! The owner is a really good man ,I enjoyed very much talking with him !I had lunch and dinner there and it was the best meal in Sri Lanka ! Must try his food is extraordinary!
