Such an amazing place to stay. The cabin was so cozy, well decorated, fitted with all the necessities, and was extremely clean. Plenty of fans were provided to help circulate air, so it never got too hot or cold. The cabin is close to hiking trails for during off season and is the easiest drive into Whitefish/Glacier Park. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend.

We loved the stay at this cabin. Great location for being at the resort. It was decorated cute and fully stocked with everything that you would need. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

This is a nice place, we enjoyed the location and the cabin. However, this listing fails to show updated pictures where new houses tower over the cabin. It feels like the cabin is in someone's backyard. You can easily see into the windows of the new place. We also had some cleaning issues but the staff was apologetic and quick to respond. To no fault of the vacation rental, it is important to note that there is road work on road to the cabin. This adds about 20 minutes to the commute down the mountain as a pilot car has to guide you up and down. If you're spending most of your time at the ski resort this is a perfect location.

My son and I stayed a few nights in this cabin. Great location, 20 second walk to the snow to ski down to chair 3, two minute walk to the Village.
The cabin is small but cozy. Bathrooms have nice finishes, decorated well. Cabin was clean and kept up nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay and think that the value for our money was very good.

Last minute trip to take my son skiing. It was perfect for the two of us. Great location for night skiing and the terrain park.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Black Bear Cabin #3. The cabin was exactly what we needed while hiking in Glacier and Yellowstone for a week. Unfortunately, there was construction behind our cabin with tall new condos or townhomes directly behind us; while the photos presented on VRBO, there are 0 buildings behind the cabin to obstruct your view of the wilderness. From the front porch, you can see the mountains during the day and stars lining the sky in the evening.

We visited in August and the property was a cozy place to stay. The hot tub was only a few steps out the back door which was great! Beautiful views out the front door. Only negative is the local restaurants and bars close at 8 or 9 so plan accordingly.

We liked this cabin because it was clean and everything was in good working conditions. Driving 12-15 min to Whitefish every time for dining or shopping, however, was not what we expected. Walking to town was not an option, since the cabin is located way uphill in a ski resort. Overall, we liked our stay.

Loved our stay in this tiny house on the mountain. Was perfect for 2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child.

Management was very responsive. Cute property, easy to access hiking and biking on the mountain. Had everything we needed, but kitchen could use a refresh. Pans were quite old, etc. Porch light was broken and outdoor chairs were bent and uncomfortable, but generally the property was well maintained. Construction was ongoing the first two days of our stay directly behind cabin, but stopped by the weekend.

This place was so convenient to the hill and made for super easy skiing to start and end the day. The cabin is so cute and has everything needed for a great stay. So many nice touches with blankets, etc. which made our stay very comfortable. We made breakfast every morning before we headed out and even had a couple of dinners at the place after skiing. Having a grill was great and we loved the hot tub that was just ours. Awesome to plop in the hot tub after a day of skiing! The views to the ski hill were great and fun to check the hill before heading out. Definitely would stay here again!

A wonderful stay with no stress. Ski in ski out, free transportation downtown and equipment rentals in walking distance.

This was the perfect, cozy size for my wife and I.Gorgeous views. However, ski in...kind of. Ski out...nope. The incline of the driveway combined with ice makes access to the slope rather precarious. I saw a few people slip, my wife being one of them. There is a road you have to cross with pieces of gravel in the snow/ice slush. It depends on how much snow they've gotten as to the surface condition. Then you have to cross up and over about a 2' snow bank with very soft snow. I have OA in one knee and this was one of the most dangerous tasks of the whole trip. Also, THEY ARE BUILDING CONDOS directly behind these quaint cabins. The sound of which we woke to on weekdays. This will affect hot tub privacy for sure. Then there was the bathroom heater in the downstairs bathroom blowing in through the exhaust fan. I'm pretty sure the darkened, almost melted looking plastic grill is a sign this isn't a very good idea. Once I noticed, I never turned it back on.

This place was perfect for my husband and I. Walking distance to chair 3, a hot tub to relax in after riding, and a short distance to town. We had a blast!

My family enjoyed staying at Black Bear cabins so very much! The property was very comfortable, allowed for space for my three teenage kids, as well as my wife and I. The hot tub behind the cabin was very comfortable, and was used every night that we stayed there! Overall, the cabin was excellent. There is some construction going on behind the cabin, but not actively. It just changed the outlook behind the cabin itself, which was not that big of a deal. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to stay in or around Whitefish, Montana.

July 2022 - Vacay Black Bear Cabin
Our experience left us disappointed. We stayed in Black Bear Cabin #3 for a week in July. Two adult couples planning to share the two bathrooms & living spaces. We booked timely in advance, February to be exact. We enjoyed the virtual tour of the cabin ahead of time and were expecting the main floor bathroom (shower) + the loft bathroom (tub). Upon arrival, we discovered the loft bathroom was under construction - ie no shower, no tub, not even flooring. Tile was still in boxes. We called Vacay immediately to explain this was not what was expected. We were met with confusion and unprofessionalism, and even asked to send photos of the bathroom in question as if we were making this inconvenience up. One representative tried to tell me the cabin is advertised as 1 bath + 1/2 bath, which is simply not true. We then had to frustrate through limited service to re-watch the virtual tour just to screenshot the expectations & attempt to get photos to management - this was DURING office hours and lovely weather. We asked to re-locate to a nearby cabin that perhaps had less people staying (all others were unoccupied upon our arrival) which was declined. It was odd for a hospitality company to expect their guests to spend their time notating discrepancies, when a representative should have offered to come out to the property instead. After hours of frustration, we were told that this would have to be discussed the following day & someone would contact us at sometime. Fortunately, Vacay did reach us the next afternoon to apologize for this unplanned renovation (?) & refund a portion of our booking. It was simply handled so poorly upon arrival, it started our trip off very sour.
Additionally, a week before our travel we contacted Vacay asking if our cabin stocked a couple specifics - blowdryer and iron/steamer - so we could pack accordingly. We were directed to an amenity list that was not easily discoverable on the website. On said list, a blowdryer, iron & ironing board, and coffee were promised. There was no iron, ironing board or coffee upon arrival. There was also no parking pass on the fridge (which is fine as it was summer, but made for extra confusion with the cabin instructions). Not to mention the tour of the cabin was clearly of a different cabin all together. The decor and furniture were not what was expected. We also planned for the 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds as described. Our cabin had 2 queen beds. Not a big deal for us, but I could see how this could inconvenience other guests.
It should also be noted that halfway through our week a strong natural gas odor was detected when we flipped the outdoor lantern switch. We of course left the switch off, but the smell remained. Vacay was called immediately. A representative did not come to the property for almost 48 hours. The gas was turned off at that time but there was no sense of urgency.
Would we stay with Vacay again? Sadly, no. We are returning to Whitefish in the fall and have already booked with another company. The expectations were simply not met and while the location was lovely, it is clear that there are too many properties under this umbrella. The listing needs to be updated and advertised with more accuracy. Simply put, the cabin should have been inspected & cleared for visitors before arrival and all guest concerns should have been handled better.

Suggestions
Hello, booking staff were great and when we had plumbing issue it got addressed.
We would strongly suggest you get some better beds. Master bed was way soft and caved in and I couldn't sleep there with my wife. Had to sleep upstairs on small bed and I am 6'-4”, so my feet were hanging over end of bed. Not having a good sleep after great day on slopes was tough for us sixty year olds. 😘
Remote for main area tv didn't work either.
Mountain and location are great.
Thanks, Mark

Beautiful cabin, helpful staff
We loved our stay at Black Bear and will be back!! The cabins are cute, clean and perfectly located for a weekend of skiing. We appreciated the full kitchen for cooking our meals and the layout was perfect for our family. We did have some maintenance needs which the staff addressed quickly for us.

Great Stay at Black Bear Cabin #3
My wife and I stayed in cabin #3 for our anniversary/ski trip. Nicely appointed cabin with everything we needed for a great stay. Very nicely decorated with modern amenities. Hot tub was great and everything functioned flawlessly. Will definitely be back.

Adorable cabin
This property made our trip to Glacier National Park a lifetime memory. We had some issues with the lodging we booked prior to arriving to here, and the people at SkyRun Whitefish were so good to us, trying to get us checked in 2 days early. Due to the timing of things, we could not get in 2 days early and had to find alternate accommodations, but they did get us in 1 day early and we were very thankful for their help!
The property is just as listed. It is adorable, quaint, and intimate. The surrounding area was nice and it was quiet, we never felt unsafe.
We did have a few small issues with the cabin, just minor maintenance issues that is normal wear & tear with vacation rentals. There was no stopper in the tub upstairs, the hand held shower sprayer did not work.... so no one could shower or bathe upstairs, 5 of us were using the one small downstairs bathroom. There was a cover missing from the light fixture/ceiling fan upstairs. Everything worked, it just looked tacky. The jacuzzi water was very cloudy and needed to be drained and refilled. And the front door was very difficult to open and close, my husband was the only one who could operate the door and he had to use his full body weight. Once, I called in these maintenance issues, they had someone come out and take care of the bathroom upstairs and the jacuzzi was cleaner (but it wasn't drained). Calling in maintenance requests isn't my favorite thing to do while on vacation, but sometimes necessary.... however due to the great outdoors, cell phone signal is not easy to come by in this area, so I missed a lot of communication with them while we were out hiking, all communication had to occur while we were at the cabin, which was usually after hours for the management office.
These are all minor inconveniences, but just aggravating when you are on vacation, Regardless, the office was wonderful about responding, they cannot control lack of cell phone signal.
The worst part of the cabin, and what will keep us from returning to this property next year..... the beds were all very uncomfortable. Most people vacationing here come for physical activity whether skiing, hiking, mountain biking, etc. So a comfortable bed and a good nights sleep is imperative. The twins upstairs were not too horrible, but the sofa bed was atrocious and the master/queen was worn and springy!

Cute tiny, well appointed cabin
Great little cabin 15 minutes from whitefish and about 45 minutes to park entrance. Has everything you need and clean.
It is tiny! 4 people was a tight fit. Ladder to the loft is literally a ladder up- ideal for kids, but just FYI as we were all above 50 and it wasn’t ideal. Very clean in the cabin- but I would note that the cleanliness of the hot tub was questionable (none of us would get in). Only other item I would note is that from the pictures it looks like a remote cabin- and it’s not (construction directly behind the hot tub and buildings on all sides) front porch does have decent views of the mountain.

Beautiful views, peaceful
Our family of 3 stayed here for 4 nights in July 2021. After a couple of nights in downtown Whitefish we wanted a slower pace and enjoy the mountain activities. Check in was easy and the cabin was very clean. Views off the porch were beautiful and the location quiet and peaceful. However, the upstairs beds are extremely squeaky. Any change in position could be heard throughout the cabin. Maybe just a matter of tightening some screws, but annoying nonetheless. Also, there needs to be curtains on the downstairs windows. The sun was up early until late night. It shone so brightly in the morning we could not sit on the sofa.

Yep. This is the place!!!!!!
My heart! Loved this cute cabin on the side of the mountain. Our kids loved hiking up the mountain (ha!). The place was nice and clean and the beds were comfy. Skyrun was super helpful. We had to call them a few times but they were very responsive. We hope to come back in January!

Very Pleased
Our small family of 3 stayed in this property during July of 2020.
This property was as-advertised, very clean, and very well-equipped. Check-in was extremely easy and the property management was very responsive to all requests. I liked the location near the trails and convenient to resort amenities. I would stay here again.

Adorable and Cozy
This place is cozy and darling. It’s great to pull everyone together. Great location even in the summer because of great hikes around the cabin and a shuttle to take you down to town. Double bonus to be close to town but right in the thick of a mountain setting. Plus a little market if you forgot something. We loved it!

Just what we were looking for!
Awesome getaway for our family. Cabin was the perfect size for the 4 of us. Location is amazing. We stayed here in early/mid June and it was literally only about a 3 minute walk to the resort village and mountain hiking/biking trailheads. Staying here made me wish I knew how to ski...for skiers, the slopes are about 30 seconds away and I could only imagine how awesome it must be in the winter. Check in was seamless and the board games and movies in the cabin were a nice diversion for the kids as we were getting settled. They loved sleeping up in the loft area. Easy drive to Glacier National Park (about an hour away) and about a 10 minute ride to shopping and restaurants in downtown Whitefish. Close to other properties but feels very secluded. The kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you could ask for. Property owners were very nice. Attentive to our questions and very quick to respond. Offered up suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area and seemed genuinely interested in the quality of our stay. We would absolutely stay here again!
