Located just one house back from the beach, this location provides excellent beach access while also conserving a bit of privacy by not being right on the beach. There is one house between this property and the beach, but the rest of the land is empty lots. I chose this location specifically because OV August provides spectacular Ocean Views without making you feel like everyone on the beach is staring into your home. The perfect spot!

The home obstructing the full view of ocean was disappointing. Not revealing that the sitting area in photos was not part of the property. Pictures of the view were miss leading.

Our entire family gathered for our niece's wedding. It was really special to stay together in this spacious and well appointed beach house. The walks on the beach were a highlight every day. The kitchen has everything you need for family meals. Thank you for a very special place for our family to gather.

This house was fantastic. The owners were very responsive. Everything was exactly as described. There were even some beach toys and chairs for our kids. I would highly recommend it! We stayed here with 9 people and it was the perfect size.

What a great stay we had! The house accommodated our whole family, including the dogs. Check in was easy, the house was clean and ready, and the beach was a very short walk away. There were great views from the deck. We made family meals every night in the well stocked kitchen, and played games at the dining table with all 10 of us, and even watched movies while relaxing on the couches. Lots of privacy in the rooms, and lots of together time on the second floor great room. Loved it!

Beautiful location and magnificent views of the ocean and just steps to the beach. The beach is very family friendly and quiet with lots of room to spread out. The house had everything you need for a family vacation. The farmers market across the street on Saturdays was a plus. Prose the location. Cons the location meaning if you are looking for a quiet beach location then this may not be the place you are looking for since it is located on a very busy and noisy street. The host was very responsive and even dropped off a crockpot for easy cooking. It was a wonderful stay

The home was very clean and comfortable; location was ideal for doing things in Norfolk or Virginia Beach. There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. The beach was located in a protected area--no huge waves. The balcony offered a great place to watch activity on the water, so bring your binoculars!

My family and I came to visit our daughter and her husband for a week and this house was wonderful for us! There were 6 of us staying and we had more than enough room!
The view of the ocean was so relaxing especially from the master bedroom and deck. We had a wonderful time cooking meals, playing games and just enjoying our time together in that beautiful house!

We were in town for a local basketball classic and this place was for the perfect place for our family to stay all in one place. It was the perfect alternative to a hotel. The place was very nice, had all the amenities needed, and the management was responsive to all questions. The master bedroom is really special. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen had a blender. I do recommend.

Wonderful stay
The pictures do not do the house justice. It is beautiful, great location and perfect for our group of 3 adults and 6 kids. The owner was very responsive and great to work with. We go to Virginia Beach a lot for field hockey and can’t wait to stay here again!

Worked perfectly for us, but
The property is great for our get together, but there are some warnings and comments. If you are looking for a pristine place, this is more casual. There is wear and tear, but that worked for us with so many children.
There are 37 steps. If you have any issues going up and down, this is not the place for you.
I would recommend the property manager provide more toilet paper and towels. No kitchen towels there, but the kitchen is perfectly stocked with just about everything else.
The garbage cans are a bit of a pain in the kitchen, but not a major deal.
Also, my adult children found a few Whippets(sp?) in the couch, that could have been hazardous to our little ones. Cleaning company needs to thoroughly check furniture when cleaning.
The beds are super comfortable and the layout worked very well for us (our legs and calves are in great shape now)

the good and bad
The good: Lovely views and lots of space! Close to beach and came with beach towels, chairs and toys. The Owner reached out to us the day after check in. Beds were comfortable. TVs came with multiple streaming services. With the number of guests, it was nice that the kitchen had three bins for trash and recycling. And it has a two-car garage.
The not so good: We couldn’t open/close windows because the window hand cranks had all been removed. House is located on a main road and there is a lot of road noise – inability to completely close some of the front windows contributed to the noise problem. Master bedroom and living room windows/doors leaked during a heavy rainstorm –we put down towels and saw there was water damage to living room walls from previous rains. The main floor’s closet doors were off. Only seven (not eight) chairs at the dining table. Bunk beds are child size.
Property needs a refresh. Not a very good first impression with the outside stairway no-slip treads in pieces and the gate at top of 2nd floor deck broken off its hinges. Living room furniture is old – couch cushions had tape on them (presumably covering holes). The Master bathroom tub overflow cover fell off. The coffee carafe was not the correct one for the coffee maker so coffee wouldn’t drain into it. The refrigerator froze some items. Living room fireplace didn’t work. Two palm trees in master bedroom were dead.
The cleaning crew needs to:
clean the oven - when we first used it, something on the bottom of the oven caught fire (the fire went out by itself),
do a good floor washing,
replace all burnt out light bulbs (in and outside the house).

Multi-generation family gathering
While visiting family local to VA Beach, the accommodations allowed other family, from various locations across the eastern seaboard, to gather and enjoy a wonderful stay. The house was spacious and allowed us to enjoy individual and family time, as well as host all of our family for a Sunday brunch. Access to the beach, shops, and restaurants was amazing. The host was responsive and friendly, and the house was clean, uncluttered, yet it felt incredibly homey. Thank you for a terrific experience!

Beach house was perfect. On the beach, quiet neighborhood and a perfect relaxing getaway with all the amenities we needed. Host provided all the info and we didn’t have to reach out with any questions. We will definitely come back!

Amazing!!!!!
We had an amazing stay with family and friends. Online pictures dont do justice to this property, we were surprised at how clean the property was. Amazing views especially from 3rd level. Sofas in the living room probably need an upgrade/cover at least, other than that everything is great! Will definitely stay here in future, if possible.

Short stay for group of 3 families with children
We were a group of 12 including three families, half adults, and half children. we stayed for 4 nights right before 3 of the kids in the group went off to college. The space we had was perfect for us. The access to the beach was great! We went on walks on the beach in the morning and afternoons. Saw dolphins from the deck. Having one covered deck and one open deck was useful. We used the covered deck for when it was too hot and sunny and the open deck on the top floor to see the sunset and a better view.
Brad was very responsive and gave us all the information we needed. He also mailed me back my air pods that I had left at the property by mistake!
Overall we had a great stay!

The house and accommodations are great. Terrific view and beach access. Nearby, a couple up unsavory characters show up. Owner easy to deal with. Kids loved vacation and the beach and water are very nice.

Family vacation
The house is nice and large for a big group. It is kid friendly and things are well worn. Could have used a few more beach towels so we just washed the ones we had but the washing machine leaked after we were there a few days. We didn’t bother to mention it, just put up with it. Also the refrigerator froze the fresh vegetables in one of the drawers. The market on Saturday is fantastic with lots of great finds! Also the beach was perfect for our first time beach goers! The kids just loved it. We had to put the baby into the master closet because we couldn’t darken a room for him so he woke up at 6. The closest worked out perfectly. The kitchen needed a cooks touch for a few more essentials and more forks. Thanks we did have a wonderful family time.

Great Location!
We had an overall great time! Only down fall was the refrigerator was not working and thankfully we had a big cooler with us but having to refill it with ice while of vacation was a big hassle. The owner was notified right away and didn’t offer any options or refund which was kinda disappointing giving some of our groceries went bad and we have to purchase food daily because we had no place to store it but our cooler. The beach is everything though!

What a wonderful house! With 3 grandchildren and 4 adults, we really appreciated the 4 full bathrooms. There was plenty of room to spread out. The view is amazing and such a short, convenient walk to the beach and local farmers market. We would definitely book this property again!

Great place, needs a few improvements
This house was the perfect location and truly beautiful! The view of the ocean was perfect and the walk to the beach was so nice and easy! (The beach access is also the public beach access, so it was VERY busy on the weekend. ) There was a great farmers market across the street on Saturday morning too. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a high chair which was very helpful. Even though the house was big, you could hear everything from the other levels. We had our multi generation family vacation and we had a great time! Our biggest complaints would be that he needs to clarify some communication with his cleaning crew. Some beds were not made, extra toilet paper wasn't left out, no trash bags, trash and recycling cans were full upon arrival, no kitchen towels were found, and only one bath towel per person. I'd recommend a new washer and dryer as well because the washer leaked (the host explained a workaround of holding the basin back while it filled with water) and the dryer took at least 2 cycles to dry towels. He had a great variety of beach toys and chairs. Overall, a great home! Just need to make sure all amenities are in working order and toiletries are set upon arrival. Thank you!

Family Get-Away
My wife and I and our 3 children and their families spent a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at OV August. The house has 5 bedrooms with one of them a small room with 2 bunk beds. Our grandkids loved the bunk beds and each of the adult couples had a bedroom. The house is located with a view of the beach and a short (less than a minute) walk to the beach. The beach was perfect for our 5 small grandkids with shallow water and no waves (it is on the Bay). We also appreciated being able to bring our dogs which we took for early morning and late evening walks on the beach...they loved it! The farmers market on Saturday is located across the street and so many good restaurants nearby.
The deck off the living room space, has a great view of the bay and the morning sunrises! It also has a stairs down to ground level so we used that to take the dogs out.
Brad was very responsive to our inquiries! He bought some beach chairs after we asked about them and provided a hose outside when we asked about that. He provides all the bed linens, bath towels and beach towels.
The kitchen is adequately equipped with a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and utensils.
The dining room is large and we were able to easily fit 8 of us around it. We loved it and hope to return !

Every bedroom. and the main living room has a TV as well. Can't stress enough how well maintained and comfortable this home is. Clean and orderly, but not stuffy or overly formal. It feels like a loved and cared for home.The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, utensils, plates and glasses. There was nothing we were missing that we needed for cooking.The view from the house is awesome with wonderful view of the beach from every floor. So you can hear people moving about on each floors. Seriously though that is what you get when you have beautiful high vaulted ceilings and hard surfaces (perfect for beach home).The owner was wonderful to communicate with, highly responsive and friendly. This was the perfect home for our family beach trip and I can't wait to come back!

Great Stay on the Bay
We loved staying at this house. It is located very close to a Bay beach which is great for young children. There is a large living room and a nice big kitchen which were great for visiting with our family. Porches for the views and plenty of chairs with extras in the garage. The owner also provided a grill. The owner was very responsive to the one problem we did have. Decorated beautifully! Close to grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants and food trucks on Saturdays!

Plenty of room with a view
We only needed a place for a couple days for all of us out of town family visitors and this property checked the boxes. What a lucky find; plenty of space, great location, walking distance to lots of food and the beach right outside. Awesome views from the two decks all day. We didn't get to fully use all the features this time but we look forward to coming back for a longer stay. Brad was quick to respond to messages, check in and out was a breeze and everything was well in order on arrival.
