Sitting on top of the world--- so it seems when you are relaxing at a 4400ft elevation on the covered porch of "Wings of Dawn". You might choose to sit in the hot tub on the lower-level deck, a great place to enjoy the amazing views of the Smoky Mountain Retreat. It has a luxurious great room with a stone fireplace, easy chairs, and large screen TV, plus, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, three large bedrooms, a loft, and lower-level bonus great room to the complete the story. Accommodates up to 8 people.

Fantastic home! Well-equipped, too, with stuff you wouldn't expect to find in a rental - super clean Weber grill, Boll & Branch bedding throughout, a pullout sofa that rivals many standalone mattresses, etc. Hot tub was ready to go, TVs were easy to figure out, refrigerator was super clean. The road up isn't the easiest in a minivan, but it's July. We'll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Wings of Dawn in the Smoky Mountain Retreat Community. The home was full of accomodations, including a beautiful kitchen with updated appliances. The view was unimaginable and one of the prettiest I have seen staying in a mountain cabin. The cabin also came fully stoked not only with kitchen necessities but also with plenty of extra blankets and pillows for those cold nights, as well as puzzles and a few games for family time. We loved staying here and did not want to leave to return home!

Wings of Dawn has one of the best sunrise views available on the mountain - however, the owner needs to do some tree trimming!! The master bed mattress could be replaced and the sofa bed downstairs is not the best. The rental management company is excellent - it answers all calls and fixes all problems to the best of its ability (sometimes depending on the owners)All in all - it was a great vacation.

After a early disaster with a rental that we had booked through HomeAway the staff at Smoky Mountain Retreat stepped in and saved our vacation. The cabin was clean, beautifully decorated and very inviting. We loved it so much that we plan on using their services for all of our mountain vacations in the future! The only thing that we would suggest as an improvement is to have TV's in the bedrooms.

Wonderful view of the Smokey Mountains! The Wings Of Dawn cabin was one ofThe best we have stayed in. Loved watching the birds at the bird feeder. The Cabin was very comfortable. The deck chairs were a great place to relax. Eventhough the cabin is high on the top of the mountain it was very easy to get to.This is the 3rd cabin we have rented in Smokey Mountain Retreat gatedcommunity. The view of the mountains are so beautiful & love looking st the valley below. This cabin is highly recommended. We will be back!!

We have been renting cabins for the holidays with Smoky Mountain Retreat for 20 years now. This was our 3rd stay at Wings of Dawn. Our prior stay here was in November of 2018. Apparently the home was sold since then and has a new owner. The difference was evident in that there was less in the way of decor. It just felt different, and less than. This was the first time we spent Christmas in Maggie Valley. We typically come for the week of Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we had several issues during our stay this time. The dishwasher did not work, and although eventually repaired, we had no use of it for 1/2 the stay. The ice/water dispenser on the fridge did not work and was never repaired during our stay. The indoor gas fireplace stoped working after the 2nd day of our stay and required a part that was not available, so we were unable to use it again. Our stay was for 8 nights and we were only able to light it for 2 of those days. This was especially disappointing as it was Christmas, and it’s one of the main features and draws to renting a mountain cabin for the holidays. There was no propane in the tank for the BBQ and once reported to management, they did send someone, but the tank delivered was not full. The condition of the BBQ is extremely concerning. The flame tamers are all rusted out which caused the flames to uncontrollably shoot upward. The BBQ was filthy and I would recommend replacing the whole thing. Management was very professional, and responsive. I understand they can only do so much. I would recommend that the owners make the investment in new appliances and sprucing up the decor. Also, fully aware it’s their cabin to do as they wish, I would still recommend not placing personal family photos around the home. If I’m renting it and want it to feel like MY home for the rental period, seeing pictures of strangers all around ruins that perception. The view is still breathtaking from this home. It will always have that!

We loved our stay at Wings of Dawn. The view from this cabin is breathtaking! The cabin was well stocked and very clean! Our only issue was the pull out bed in the basement. It’s an air mattress not a real pull out bed and it doesn’t hold air. Fortunately there was a separate functioning air mattress in the closet so management must have known the couch pullout is broken. A couple of our kids used the air mattress while the adults and younger kids used the beds upstairs and on the main level. The property description should be updated though. The property will not comfortably sleep 8 unless the couch pull out in the basement is replaced. Most families are not expecting to sleep on an air mattress when they spend $$$/night on a short term rental cabin. Besides the bed issue we would highly recommend this cabin!

We loved Wings of Dawn so much! My husband and I went for 5 nights and were so impressed with the cabin and every detail that it offered. We spend most of our time here on the deck with the most stunning views that we’ve ever experienced in that area. We had a fire in the outdoor fireplace every night. The outdoor furniture was amazing and plentiful! We only went out to dinner one night because we wanted to dine outside on the deck! We will absolutely rent here again!

The best thing about this rental is the view - which is fabulous! The sunrise photos that I took are very special! However, this property has a serious moisture problem on the lower level - the dehumidifier must be kept running 24/7 to keep the dampness odors in check.

We rented Wings of Dawn to celebrate my Mom's 75th birthday and we were not disappointed. It was as beautiful as the pictures on-line and came well stocked with every thing you need for an enjoyable stay. Directions were provided for using everything from TV to fireplace to light switches etc. which took out the guess work and was very user friendly. There was a cozy atmosphere as it was decorated so thoughtfully maintaining the mountain cabin feel. We had an excellent time and there was plenty of room for all of us to have our own space. The only regret is that we could not stay longer.

My family and I recently stayed at Wings of Dawn for 7 nights. The pics you see on the website are merely a tease of what you'll see when you rent this home, unbelievable!! The home itself is quiet and comfortable. I would recommend either a 4-wheel drive or all wheel drive to navigate the road leading to the house. At 4400 feet there is a lot of steep road and hairpin curves. Nonetheless I would not hesitate in the least to rent this home again. Enjoy!
