All wheel drive vehicles , winter tires and chains as a backup is must during the winter months November- March ! Inside the Slatyfork Farm Community or Snowshoe and refunds won't be processed if your vehicle can not make it to the house.
A Mountain Retreat is located in the private mountain community of Slatyfork Farm. This upscale mountain home has three bedrooms plus loft, three bathrooms and bonus living area! The heated garage along with hot tub, gym, deck and an upgraded kitchen makes. A Mountain Retreat the ''Perfect Mountain Getaway', ideal for up 16 persons
Amazing rustic/modern mountain house , located just 15min from SnowShoe , however this house it's not perfect just for a winter getaway ,around we have amazing hiking trails, bike trails and hunting grounds.
The House has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with 2 living rooms as well where you can use additional sleeper sofas, the kitchen is fully equipped and the front porch is perfect for relaxing at any time of the year. You can enjoy in HotTub and use the gym as well.

The Mountain Retreat was a great place for my fall hiking/biking/leaf peeping trip. Lots of birds, squirrels, chipmunks and deer in the community. The house was very clean. The community was very quiet. Only knew that vehicles were driving to other homes in the area because of the crunching gravel. When I come back to this area again will definitely stay here again if the Mountain Retreat is available. Didn't make s'mores but did enjoy the supplied graham crackers. Even though there was no snow, did need to put my truck into 4-wheel drive because of the loose gravel on some place where the road was pretty steep. The only disappointing thing about the retreat, and it's a very minor disappointment, was the garage door wouldn't stay up so that I could enjoy nature while using the gym equipment.

Wonderful place. Would definitely stay again. Just a few minor things needs taken care of. I thought with the way the pictures were saying that 2 bedrooms were on same floor but they were not. 1 bedroom per floor. Basement, 1st, and top floor is where each bedroom was. Saw a couple fawn at the property. Very peaceful at top of hill.

We stayed with 3 families including a pet. Gorgeous and clean property, we all enjoyed our stay. Definitely you will need a SUV to drive up the hillside. Night driving can be tricky to the property and pls use GPS guides to get to the property. It’s all worth at the end.

Here are the issues noted: carpets filthy, hall tiles grout missing, upstairs needs mattress pad notable pee stains, stove top greasy, garbage disposal inop with strong odor, missing or inop ceiling lights in dining and living room, lots of food crumbs under couch cushions, propane heater tank empty. House is lovely and well equipped, but needs updating with a deep cleaning.

Fantastic stay! The little extras were so nice, including towel animals on the beds and the makings for s’mores! Also the kitchen was very well stocked! It was so close to Snowshoe which made the trip to ski even better! Very peaceful and quiet community. Definitely need 4 wheel drive during the snow and watch out for deer!

Wonderful place

We greatly enjoyed are time at the slaty fork house and our time at snowshoe. The place is clean, private, has everything you could possibly need and is within an easy distance to the ski hills.

A Peaceful Mountain Get-a-way

Our stay in Slatyfork was very peaceful. This well-decorated, fully-stocked mountain home made a 4-day weekend stay-inside very easy. The home is well-equipped in many regards but the central hub for us was the living room and kitchen. Family meals were a breeze as we had everything we needed in the cupboards. I see a second trip in the early winter!

Nice property, had major water issues

We loved the home, it’s in a beautiful vicinity. House was comfortable however the morning after our first stay we had no water, not even a drop. We couldn’t shower or use the bathroom. The guys who came to fix didn’t know the where the spring water source was nor the owner. We cancelled our morning plans. Then another group of men came to fill the water tank which provided water slowly, it was around 2 pm when we got some water. A major inconvenience please check with the owner before you check in that the tank is full. This house gets the spring water fill last, there are 4 other houses which are connected to the same water supply and their tanks have to be full before this house gets the water supply. No other issues with the property overall a nice place to stay.
