Overall the house is nice.
There is a lot that needs to be done to the property in my opinion to be 4 stars or more.
But for a River house where most people just need a place to sleep, in checks the boxes.
4.7
House is amazing along with the view and river access! Without going into details, unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue. The Cowboy Hot Tub, corn hole, ping pong…. etc definitely kept the kids busy in between trips.
4.7
Beautiful property had everything you need. Service was excellent and the communication was fast
4.7
This house is set up with bed/bath/partial kitchen on each floor. Also if it rains, it has a large outdoor covered area under the house with games, TV, plenty to keep everyone busy! The house management company could not have been nicer. We will definitely rent again.
4.7
Peaceful, cozy, and clean we had a great time. We will definitely be back.
4.7
This house was exactly as advertised, and met our needs perfectly. Lots of space for everyone in a beautiful location. We will stay here again for sure!
4.7
The propery was clean and spacious. The river was pretty and enjoyed our coffe overlooking the river in the mornings. Lots of things to do around the area. The one suggestion is to stock the kitchen better. There were no measuring cups, measuring spoons or small pots for cooking rice. Pans for stove were warped and didn't sit on the stove very well but wet made do... All in all very nice stay!!! We would definitely rent her again!!
4.7
My stay was great beds were very comfortable and being here for work that’s what we want 15/10 recommendation
4.7
Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Well kept and clean. Would definitely go back again.

We had a great time!
4.7
We loved the house and the location so much, we never left during our entire stay. We setup chairs / floats on the river in front of the house. The layout is fun, unique and nice for all parties - you've got master on main level next to everything, bedroom on lower level with it's own bathroom and kitchenette, and another kitchenette, bathroom and two bedrooms on third floor. Plus fun games such as foosball, ping pong, corn hole, etc.. I would 100% return to this location.
4.7
Property was very clean and quiet at night! We were able to float from the house which was really nice.

Wonderful and spacious home on the River. Kids and adults had a blast. Home had everything we needed and more. Thanks again.

We had the best time & really enjoyed our stay at the Rock’s River Retreat. It was the perfect size for our family of 6 adults & 4 kids. We really enjoyed the views & the cool layout of the house! Drinking coffee each morning on the patio was especially enjoyable! The entire family enjoyed the games under the patio. The ping pong table was a huge hit! It got a lot of play time from the entire family. The location of this house was perfect! We were just a short drive from all the activities we did on our stay. We enjoyed floating the final river, spending a day at schlitterbaun water park & we spent a day tubing on a pontoon boat that we rented on canyon lake.
This was such a memorable family vacation! So glad we found the River rock retreat!

We had a great stay and loved the 3 separate levels with 3 separate bathrooms/kitchenettes on each level. My kids highly enjoyed swimming in the river and we were about 15-20 minutes to all swim holes in Wimberly. The property was quick to respond with a minor issue and got it fixed quickly. I did wish there were fans outside as it was hot during our stay. Overall great family friendly home.
4.7
Nothing better than having a cup of coffee on the back porch and watching the day come to life. The deer, the ducks, the fish jumping, and the gentle breeze.
So close to NB, yet so far away.
The house layout took some getting used to, but it works. Great showers. We will return with pleasure.
Oh, it was a rainy weekend, and plenty of room to spread out and even a covered area outside.
4.7
House was on a great property and had enough room for all! I would stay again!
4.7
The house location is fantastic given we were going to see a concert at Whitewater Amphitheater and to hang out on the river. The kitchen was well stocked and we bought steaks form a local farm to grill. Would 10/10 stay here again for a lake/river fun weekend.
4.7
This place is fantastic!
We had the best most relaxing time!
It’s far enough from everything, but close enough to what you need. The yard and view are amazing and the pics don’t do it justice. We had a few hiccups with appliances not working but stayed in contact with the property manager about it and all was well.
We plan to stay here again!

This was the second Christmas we spent with our family at this property and we will be making it a tradition. The home is perfect for a large group, is located at a beautiful place on the river and allows us to be comfortable and enjoy family. Just perfect!
4.7
Beautiful scenery. With waterfront views we had amazing time we would definitely stay here again

This is a great place for a small group; we had 5 children and four adults and no one felt crowded or fought for bathrooms! The house was clean, extremely organized, and contained everything that we needed for our stay (outside of food, obviously!) The beds were extremely comfortable, and the blinds kept things nice and dark even when the sun was out. Great location. If you bring a friend who’s naturally a mosquito attractor, like we did, you can sit outside completely unmolested and enjoy the views! It was the perfect place for our trip and everyone loved the accommodations. We’d come back!

There were 6 adults on this vacation. We enjoyed our stay on the river. A few bugs but nothing too bad. We loved the view. A little rough on grandma. Who uses a cane. Getting up and down the stairs was a bit challenging. But she did it! Location is close to Gruene. And Schlitterbahn. Overall. We had a great time.

Upon arrival going in we had to wipe everything down when we got there. We cleaned with our own Clorox wipes and they were black and brown after wiping the countertops down. Under the beds and couches there was dirt dust and debris. Dust all over the fixtures and then when going out the back door the handle came off. View was great right on the water but the roaches that came when we cooked quickly overroad that. If you do stay place all the food on the table do not leave it on the counters or stove or they will get in it. Be sure after your stay to check your bags before bringing them back in your home as I found a roach in my suitcase. Also the downstairs bathroom shower did not drain properly they had septic come out the second day we were there but after it still did not drain out. Then when leaving the owners stated we needed to load the dishwasher and start it. Went to do so and opened it up to a foul smell like a dead rodent and food particles inside the dishwasher. We did not load it we washed all our dishes by hand dried and put them up. I made the owners aware of it and all they said is we didn’t say anything during our stay. Never apologized.

Lovely house, great location
Loved being on the water, being able to go right out and hang in the water.

We stayed here for 4 nights in July. The house is very nice and clean and well stocked with nice linens, blankets and towels. The beds were all very comfortable. The A/C worked great on all levels of the house. We were able to get in the river right from the yard and floated from the house. We all enjoyed the ping pong table and foosball. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and we enjoyed listening to all the birds in the mornings and watching the deer feed in the yards. The rental company was quick to answer and help out with a few questions we had. I would highly recommend staying here.

The location of this house is incomparable. Right on the water, between Canyon Lake and the Horseshoe, only 10 minutes from town, and not a ton of neighbors. That cannot be easily replicated. The property has tons of trees and direct access to the river. We saw a variety of breathtaking wildlife, most notably a pack of deer watering themselves in the river early in the mornings. The only reasons we were glad to leave at the end of the week were the dirty condition of the kitchen, bathrooms and floors and the cockroaches. There were half eaten steaks in one of the drawers and dried raw meat juice all over the bottom half of the refrigerator when we arrived. Two of the drawers were broken, but I was able to fix one, after removing everything I could to clean out the remnants. There were broken chairs and tables throughout the house, and the management company tried blaming us for the prior damage when we checked out. We found 2 very large “water bugs” (read flying cockroaches) in the main floor within hours of our arrival. In the morning, we found multiple small “German cockroaches” in the kitchen cabinets with the dishes. When we contacted the management they arranged for an exterminator to retreat 2 days later. Even after the treatment, we continued to see multiple cockroaches throughout the house. The rugs all needed a deep cleaning and the floors were filthy. Your feet would be solid black after walking around inside for a few hours. Overall, the property is amazing with plenty of beds and places to hang out, it just needs to be maintained better. We would stay there again if we could be assured that these issues were addressed.

Firstly, the property was absolutely beautiful!! My husband and I could not get over how stunning the backyard was-we ate every meal on the back deck which we took in all the natural beauty around us.
However, the trip was not completely the peaceful vacation we were hoping for. Our check-in time was 4 PM. We arrived around 4:30 only to find the beautiful home a complete mess. There were dirty dishes in the sink and dishwasher, all the beds were unmade, dirty towels on the bathroom floors, dirty towels in the open washing machine, the kitchen/bathroom trashcan were full of trash, and there were sticky fingerprints on the fridge/windows. I called and some lovely ladies arrived around 5:30ish to clean up the place. My husband and I waited in the backyard so as to stay out of their way, but it was pretty hot outside. They finished around 7 PM and we were finally able to bring our things inside and unpack. However, this was 3 hours after we were supposed to be able to check in.
Then the next day (Wednesday 5/25) we were contacted to let some repair man in to fix some part of the fridge. This was at lunchtime so we had to wait for him to finish. We also did not request this repair so I wish it was done at some time when the home wasn't occupied by guest.
The day after that (Thursday 5/26) we were again contacted to see if the repair worked. Again, we did not request this repair and have no idea what the repair man fixed.
We were really hoping for a relaxing vacation but these delays, interruptions, and inconveniences caused us stress.
Considering the rental costed us almost $1800, this was not the service I was expecting for a pricey rental.
I was wondering if I could be refunded the price of the first night (or some other costs) as our check-in was delayed by 3 hours on the first night and the inconveniences we endured on the 2nd and 3rd day.
I greatly appreciate your attention to this matter!
