Overnight at The Cottage

That was a copy and very comfortable place to stay. Murray was a fabulous host and Sunday's welcome woof was real cute 😍 Facilities were perfect for our needs, extremely comfie bed, cottage was very clean and in a beautiful sunny location. Would definitely stay there again!

Garden Cottage is very well named.

Hosts were friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was as cute as a button while being everything we needed. Environment was charming with privacy and cherry blossoms.

Quiet country stay

Comfortable, quiet area, well equipped, good shower and very comfortable bed. Handy to both Hastings and Havelock north. Very friendly host.

Friendly, convenient and comfortable.

Very private and would have been excellent in summer but, sadly, the weather was foul so we were unable to access the cute outside area.

The bedroom/accommodation was a little "snug"

The cabin is so cute and comfy! We only stayed for one night but had a very good sleep and liked our stay a lot! :)

Really nice place, super easy to deal with, would go again.

Location was good, outside of the city but not too far to go in if you want to. Nice and quiet, surrounded by orchards.

Disappointing

The location and the friendliness of the hosts.

I feel the advertising of this property is misrepresented. It is listed as a one bedroom cottage when it is fact only a bed sitter. If it was a one bedroom property it would have a completely separate room for the bedroom not just the bed in the living area. (ref Apartment Guide.com) The list of facilities is also inaccurate in that a washing machine and dryer are listed as items within the cottage itself and this is not the case. Given the semi rural location regular fumigation in addition to external spraying would help to reduce the presence of cockroaches in the cottage which I experienced.

A cosy place to stay with wonderful hosts. Sian and Morray THANK YOU for your hospitality. People like you makes it worth , the long travels. Traveler, come to this place and enjoy the wines, the views and the kindness of its people... Even after the cyclon there is a lot to discover.

Not enough time to taste many of the wines of Hawke's Bay...

My husband and I had to cancel our booking because of a road closure, shocking weather and an accident my husband had. Owner was wonderful, sympathetic, thoughtful and considerate of our decision.

We wanted a location in town as a base for three days tandem riding around the region.

We wanted a self-contained cottage and this was fitted the bill. It is quite small but well appointed.

Garden cottage a perfect comfortable retreat

Fantastic hidden gem. Very comfortable bed and linen. Perfect for our fleeting visit to watch a concert at the Toitoi opera house- will definitely stay again. My fiance was quite envious of your herb garden.

Really can not find any fault with the place except, we took the oranges to enjoy on the way home - hope you don't mind.

Exceptional

Amazing scenery, well kept property and amenities all close by. Murray and his wife were very friendly, helpful and we loved staying there! They even offered us fruit from their "ugly fruit" tree which my partner absolutely loved!! Would definitely recommend staying with them. Cottage was warm, welcoming and we were impressed with the personal touches, especially the painting on the cottage wall!

Clean, comfortable, well located and value for money.

Everything you could need for a safe and comfortable stay. The cottage is small but well apointed and wonderfully decorated. Your hosts are friendly and unobstrusive, and the rural setting is a delight.

A few more days and nights in Hawkes Bay - what a great little city is Hastings.

Just a One night stay

Loved the setting and the cottage was comfortable and warm considering it was terribly wintery...

We were sad that we weren't able to stay another night but that was no one's fault as we were booking last minute and we were grateful to have been able to stay that first night...

surprisingly comfy accommodation, attention to details, very good bed shower, heating, TV, very efficient wi-fi and quiet setting, particularly for those travelling to work, close to town. Friendly and welcoming host.
