Most comfortable bunk bed I've slept on during my travels. Unbeatable location. The food was so extremely good. Great staff.
Maybe the door closing and opening mechanism was a little slow. And the showers did not feel as private as I'd like.

I had the absolute misfortune of staying at Sishaus Hostel aka The Bed Bug Inn. We were a big group and had a total of five rooms. The biggest (room one, the one with two bunk beds and room for six people) had bed bugs and we got bit on our second night. The reaction from the staff was something like ”oh, ok”. No apologies or anything and they didn’t seem surprised by this at all. During that whole day, we were calling and texting them trying to get them to either get us a new room or book us another hostel. They did neither. The only thing they did was offer us to stay in the bed bug room which they had treated with some kind of pesticide, which was ”not toxic, just the smell is uncomfortable” (their words), and offer us a partial refund. When we got back the staff had gone home for the day and no one was answering our calls or texts anymore. We were left to either stay in the room with the bugs or leave and pay for another accommodation. We chose the latter. After that, they still were not responding and we have not gotten any partial refund from them. It’s been over two months and several emails from us but no response. After much work we got a small refund (that didn’t cover the cost of our new accommodation) from Booking but nothing from Sishaus.
Apart from that, there were other issues at Sishaus. So to summarise:
- Bed bugs
- Some beds felt unsafe and were high up on home-built platforms with little to no fall protection.
- There was back mold in the showers
- No lock on the communal bathroom doors and the doors were some weird accordion sliding doors that offered little privacy.
- No locks on the lockers in the 6-bed room. So if you book one bed and share the room with people you don’t know you have no way of locking away your valuables.
- Funky smell in the part of the hostel that had the bathrooms and showers.
- Unprofessional service from the staff

Die Wegbeschreibung zum Zimmer und die Möglichkeit, dass man ein Self-Checkin machen kann.
Beim Eingang kommt man schwer rein, da der Eingangscode schon so oft benutzt worden ist, dass er größenteils die Zahl nicht erkennt. Es wurde mit Schlafsofa beworben, aber im Zimmer war nur ein Etagenbett, welches für das obere Bett nicht mal ein Geländer hat.

Ci è molto piaciuta l'attenzione alla sostenibilità (cibo vegano, oggetti di riuso/riciclo per gli arredamenti delle camere e delle parti comuni). La stanza comune dove viene servita la colazione è molto carina e accogliente, il personale è gentile e il punto forte di questa struttura è sicuramente la posizione, in una via pedonale nel centro di Graz. Nonostante alcune pecche e cose da migliorare (elencate sotto), per il prezzo pagato ci sentiamo di consigliare questa struttura, specialmente per soggiorni brevi e per persone giovani. La posizione ci ha permesso di godere a pieno del centro storico, stupendamente addobbato per le feste natalizie
Al nostro arrivo la camera era fredda e la stufetta data in dotazione non era adatta a scaldarla.
La camera è molto piccola, è dotata di WC doccia e lavandino, ma la doccia è a un metro dal letto e non è dotata di tenda. Abbiamo trovato il letto scomodo in quanto è molto alto e un po' difficile da raggiungere (dalle foto non si percepiva l'altezza).

BED BUGS!!!
■ We found bed bugs few hours after checking in;
■ There was no one at the reception;
■ Internet didn't work for us;
We spent the night in the lobby as we couldn't contact the staff and we left the morning as early as we could! We contacted the staff, they were responsive and accepted a full refund that we requested to booking and got!
I checked other reviews and apparently they have this problem since beginning of the year, so they know of it!

Für diesen Preis ist das echt eine Frechheit, gesagt wurde mir auf der Zimmer tür stehe der Name jedoch fanden wir nie unseren Namen. Es befanden sich Haare auf dem Bettlacken, die Dusche schimmelte, es hatte alles einen sehr unangenehmen geruch.

Great location. Quiet and relatively clean. Vegan breakfasts with “pay as you like” options on weekdays seems like a nice service, though I never used it.
Complicated check in. Two door codes and an elevator to find the place. Staff sent me wrong info, room number and WiFi password. When I connected the WiFi wasn’t working and it didn’t reach my room anyway. Staff woke me up by trying to open my door without knocking on the first morning. No coat/towel hangers or shower holder. Very thin blankets in chilly November - thankfully I could use the one from the bunk bed above me. After check-out the staff contacted me about paying the city tax despite me leaving it in the room as their info (maybe wrong) said to do.

Das Frühstück schmeckte hervorragend! Das glutenfreie Brot war sehr lecker. Leider gibt es Frühstück erst ab 9 Uhr, auch auf Anmeldung und für Gruppen ist früher nicht möglich, was sehr schade ist.
Man könnte mal das WC im Gang flicken, da hört man die Rohre die ganze Nacht.
WLAN funktionierte nicht.

gute Lage, nett gestaltet
Bei unserer Ankunft war kein Personal anwesend und wir wussten nicht wie wir zu unseren Zimmer kommen. Darüber hinaus war die Telefonnummer ungültig und wir konnten niemanden erreichen. (die Buchung war bestätigt und die Betten bereits bezahlt) Am nächsten Morgen gab uns das Personal die Schuld für das "Missverständnis" und entschuldigte sich nicht, sondern war unhöflich.
Normalerweise stört mich unhöfliches Personal nicht, jedoch wenn das Hostel organisatorisch versagt und dann ihren Gästen die Schuld gibt, finde ich dies sehr unprofessionell.
Die Gemeinschaftstoiletten waren dreckig.

perfect location, but was incredibly hard to find. When I contacted the staff using the phone number listed the person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. It is advertised as having self catering facilities but only has a kettle and sink!

This hostel was not at all what I expected when I book by Bookings.com. The room was extremely small. The bed the same, very narrow and put into a narrow hole in the wall. The "bathroom" was in the room behind the entrance door. I recommend you to not offer this hostel to your customers or specify very clearly the poor standard. In fact, we left without using the facility.

The photos do not correspond to the actual condition of the hostel, the room is smaller than you can imagine, you can literally take one step directly from bed to the shower to the toilet, and through the window. People can see you showering because the shower is somehow in front of the window (???) and the curtains don't work. Even if they did, it would still be akward. The internet does not work at all, and there is not even a normal cell phone signal, so no contact to the civilisation. There is no heating system: heating is on a small and loud electric HEATPAL type heater (google it!), which you shouldn't leave for a long time because your room could catch fire. The rooms don't have any sound isolation, you can hear everything the neighbor above you is doing. It is not clean, before showering you must collect hair that was left by customer before you. There are more horror details that don't fit here. If you need a BUSINESS ACCOUNT, you will NEVER get one, because the owner does not even respond to the Booking customer service.

11/21/2022 Due to a booking problem, I accidentally booked twice. Notified the staff. Asked to approve the cancellation of one of the reservations without penalty. The staff pretended to do everything. As a result, I still can't get my money back from them. They do not respond to messages on booking.com. Chat was deleted. Amount about 100 euros

The staff was very nice, the main shared space felt like a little livingroom
Couldn't pay with card, instead had to get cash from an ATM. In the weekend breakfast is from 09h which can be conflicting with early appointments

Room had everything, common areas were clean (showers, toilets), a great little hostel!
The sign in/codes could be perceived as complicated-I ran into a gal who was having trouble getting in and getting ahold of the property manager, but I had no issues. Our names weren’t written on the doors, but after communicating with the staff it was all sorted.
