Alojamiento ideal económico con gran carizma

La vista, la amabilidad y gentileza de los anfitriones, incluso tenía que continuar con el viaje y estaba tan a gusto con ellos q no me quería ir

Todo estuvo como muy económico y el desayuno delicioso. Lo único es que el Waze no te lleva bien hasta el lugar y hace falta un poco más de señalización

Séjour en tente avec une vue magnifique

- la vue est incroyable surtout quand le temps est dégagé - rapport qualité-prix - gentillesse de la famille gérante des lieux - la tente était conforme à nos attentes - très bon Gallo Pinto - le logement est situé à El Castillo qui est à l’écart de l’agitation touristique de la Fortuna

Rien. Le confort est rudimentaire mais il y a tout ce qu’on attend avec ce prix. Attention, la route pour arriver nécessite un 4x4 mais avec un 4x4 aucun soucis. Nous l’avons montée et descendue plusieurs fois sans problèmes.

La entrada prácticamente es solo para 4x 4 íbamos en un carro bajo con una adulta mayor y un bebé y tuvimos que dejar el carro en un parqueo abajo y caminar bastante para poder llegar

Exceptional spot 👍

Really an exceptional spot. The accommodations are very rustic (think glorified camping), so as long as you're not expecting the Marriott you feel part of the forest with the sound of toucans and howler monkeys - and the views of Arenal and the lake are out of this world. Owners are lovely and have a ton of local information. Can walk to lake, river and nearby store and restaurant. Would stay again in a heartbeat and for longer.

Some might not like the drive (~400m) up to the property. It was nothing in a Landcruiser but might be a little sketch in a Camry. Anyway it keeps the riff raff out 😁

Super endroit je recommande !

L’emplacement est top avec la vue, c’est très calme et on s’y sent bien. Le personnel est très sympathique et le petit déjeuné très bon !

Le chemin pour accéder est difficile il faut un 4x4 absolument.

A rustic glamping experience we would happily do again!

The sunset in was an incredible glamping experience for us in Costa Rica. We loved waking up to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds, and the amazing sunrise view against the volcano. Our host was incredibly friendly, and made a delicious breakfast.

La vue sur le volcan, l’esprit camping, les lits assez confortables dans l’ensemble, l’accueil et la gentillesse, les petit dej, le chien et les chats, l’ensemble des personnes présentes très sympa nous avions un 4x2 et nous avons réussi à monter facilement car il n’avait pas bcp plu mais attention si vous venez pas temps très pluvieux

la douche ext avec un trou dans le mur mais ce n’est pas grave

Amazing owners. Great breakfast. Clean, everything I was looking for. Mountain view with the feel of outside camping. Beautiful place. Very safe.

If you rent a car make sure it's a 4x4 the road is rough.

Best view we've had in Costa Rica. Make sure you have a car because El Castillo is quite far from La Fortuna and other activities. Breakfast was great and the owner was friendly even though we had a language barrier

You can hear other people in their cabins pretty well and the drive uphill is an challenge, you need an SUV.

Very good

The couple who run this are very nice -- the facilities are basic but very clean, the breakfast was good, and the view spectacular. For the price this is an excellent value.

The road up to the property is 400 meters of serious slope and is very poorly maintained. You really need a high clearance 4x4 to get up there without risking major damage to your car. This is as of March 2023.

Basic and cheap

The breakfast was great. Cold water showers was disappointing. The drive in and out was very bumpy and up a steep hill. The walk on the saturated grass could be improved with a walkway. The mattress was springs only and needed to be flipped. The owner did not clean up after his dog. There was wildlife parrots at 5 pm, monkeys at 6 am and breakfast at 7 am. Cats and dogs were friendly but had fleas.

Overall fair but basic. Needs walkway, hot shower to make better. Had access to use fridge but had cooler and didn’t need.

Nice view

Old, dirty tent from inside and outside. We did not stay, had to find another place fast. They should buy new tent from time to time, this is not so expensive to do.

Awesome views of Arenal lake and Volcano. staff were super friendly and helpful. climbing Chirro Chato and crater lake was a highlight.

Unique experience

Beautiful and unique view, nice people, good breakfast.

To get the last 500m to the place is only suitable for 4x4 cars, however the owner helped is with bringing our lugage up and when we checked our down.

Wonderful view on the lake, nice family that let us share their home with us. Good quiet place to relax! Also, we liked the typical breakfast.

Just be aware that a car is useful to get around and get there.
