A lovely stay in a lovely place

Good for a reunion of friends and great access to Exmoor.

Breakfast and quality of ingredients were excellent. Very nice staff.

The windows in our room didn't open (Room 1) and the heating was either very hot or off as the dial on the radiator was not working. Without the heating it was OK but it would be better if there were a way to get ventilation in the room.

Excellent value for money in a great location

Location was excellent for exploring Exmoor. The breakfast was very good - cooked to order with plenty of options if continental preferred. We also had a very good meal one evening but as the hotel only catered for residents and we were the only people eating, the ambience was lacking.

As others have noted, this hotel would benefit from a refurbishment. It is clean and comfortable but tired in its décor.

Superb

We absolutely loved the Lion Hotel in Dulverton. Some would say it’s looking a little tired, but we say it has a faded grandeur that makes you feel relaxed and at home. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfasts were cooked to order and delicious. One night we had a 3 course dinner which was excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel was clean, comfortable and located conveniently in the town centre. Parking is in the local carpark and the hotel give you it at a discount of £3 a day instead of £5. We’ll definitely be back.

Good location in Dulverton

Excellent welcome and check in. Very helpful and friendly staff. We had a very large room with a comfortable bed. Good breakfast that was freshly cooked. We were able to park outside the hotel which was very convenient. The Hotel would be an excellent location for exploring the area or a walking break.

The Hotel is a little 'faded' and could do with a refresh. Sadly the restaurant wasn't open but the owner had kindly informed us beforehand and we made alternative arrangements.

The whole experience was great. Rooms a little dated but extremely clean and comfortable with everything you need. From start to finish owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing breakfast and evening dining was incredible. Overall a very friendly hotel. We loved it and can't wait to go back♥️ Oh and very dog friendly

Excellent location but hotel in need of some repairs & refurbishment

Breakfast good. Location excellent.

Like the Marie Celeste ... only saw 1 other couple & that was at breakfast & no other tables laid. Hotel furnishings were mostly rather tired. Bathroom: black stains around bath, toilet roll holder falling off, shower curtain not properly attached.
