Would return; no doubt.

The suite was top class; roomy clean, great bath

We weren't sure if the pub was open or not. We didn't have breakfast. We didn't see our hosts except upon arrival. This is good if you want total seclusion, which suited us. We didn't need or anything

Bedding was not changed once on our 7 night stay had too ask for more towels as could not dry them on bathroom radiator

Was in a good location too travel the island by car

No central heating on in room radiators not working , could smell damp .

Lovely country village hotel

Really lovely suite of rooms with everything we needed. On the bus route to Ramsey and Douglas with regular, inexpensive service. Great garden at the back.

The bar is only open at the weekend. This didn't bother us as we went into Ramsey in the evening.

Perfect if you like a quiet and independent stay.

The bed was literally the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I loved having a suite so when the weather was bad, I could 'stay home' without having to just sit on my bed - I hadn't fully realised when booking just how spacious and well-appointed the rooms would be. Having a fridge was a huge bonus, not just to store breakfast items, but also I was able to make my own packed lunches to take out each day. I did not have use of a car for my holiday so it was ideal to be right by the bus and tram stops.

I wish there was a cooked breakfast option.

Rural retreat

Very comfortable; super quiet, staffed by friendly owners, easily accessed by bus and Manx train line, delicious continental breakfast. Loved it. Would stay again.

Best for those with a car, breakfast only meal available so had to bus to town for some picnic supplies.

A real gem!

This hotel is amazing! The rooms were huge, including a bedroom and a lounge, and very nicely decorated and clean. There was a mini fridge with plenty of fresh milk (instead of those little milk sachets), as well as tea and coffee. There were even free snacks which were a nice treat after checking in. Check in was smooth and the host was lovely. The entrance to the rooms is at the back so you don’t have to trek in through the pub which is nice. The location was good, right between Laxey and Ramsey and would be great for exploring the island. We had a car but as it’s right on the main road there are plenty of buses that stop nearby. Even though it was on the main road and was a pub downstairs it was so peaceful and quiet. Would definitely recommend!

The only downside is that they don’t do food at the hotel, but with Laxey and Ramsey so close it wasn’t an issue and we had a great meal out in Ramsey. The host also was happy to give us details to get takeaway delivered if we wanted.

The place needs a good bottoming disappointing!

We didn’t have breakfast at the glen mona we wasn’t offered it ! We did see on a shelf some jars with cereal in them but nothing was mentioned about this as we didn’t see the proprietor at all after we checked in The facilities were poor the sofa bed was terrible to sleep on and the rooms were very dirty and dusty which was a shame ! We had to climb up some stoney steps out side the building to get into the rooms over a metal gantry which was very slippery no good for anyone with mobility issues and young children!

We should be able to get to the rooms with out having to go mountaineering to get in and out of the rooms. the rooms need a good clean !! Not good for anyone who suffers with breathing problems ! Cooked breakfast should be an optional extra ?

Nothing to 'Mona' about this lovely place!

The suite of 2 rooms and bathroom are very well presented, having been recently refurbished. The provision of fridge, TV, chair and table facilitates options for dining. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the island and is equidistant between Ramsey and Lacey for eating out. We were made welcome by Lisa (and a gorgeous, friendly Labrador!) who was most helpful. We wish her and Sean every success in growing the Glen Mona.

There is a little traffic noise at peak times - but all the other advantages outweigh this.

Very unhappy

I arrived at 3.30pm and found no one there. I knocked and waited in the pouring rain. I returned approx. 25 mins later and was frightened off by two dogs. The place looked deserted so I gave up. I went back to Ramsey and got accommodation instead at Ramsey Park Hotel (expensive but welcoming). I never received any correspondence from Glen Mona. I am contemplating seeking legal advice to obtain redress for financial loss!!

Perfect for our needs for a couple of days, whilst visiting elderley parent in nursing home..

Very comfy. Great location. Lovely couple are Sean and Suzi and I wish them well on their adventure and project ahead! Will definitely stay again.

Will be even better when it opens for food, drinks, snacks etc. Currently no access to warm food at present, kettle only for hot drinks.

Felt like home.

Glen Mona has an awesome location. Close to public transport. With amazing scenery. The hosts went above and beyond. They were helpful, informative and the two resident dogs are phenomenal!

We hardly saw the proprietors. The room was not made up during our visit. It was difficult to get towels dry from one day to the next due to lack of heating.

Great location, easy access to all parts of the island. Room had a nice lounge area. Bed was a large double and very comfortable. Large bath and powerful shower.

Good

The staff were friendly and tried to help as much as possible with the early arrival due to boat times. The rooms are very large and decorated very well. The beds are comfortable, and it was really quiet and peaceful.

The lack of catering was a disadvantage. The hotel is rural which makes it difficult to get food at times. However, a small fridge and kettle is provided in each room. It was still a little difficult to make cereal and sandwiches without making a mess as there was no table or worktop available.
