About this apartment rental
Our convenient ground-level studio condo includes a full kitchen, cozy living room with electric fireplace, private, off-ground balcony and full bath. A pub-style dining table is also in the main room adjacent to the kitchen. The bathroom is modern and fresh. Guests can use the ski locker and there is coin laundry on the premises.

RESORT CLUB ACCESS: For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.
PURGATORY SKI MOUNTAIN LOCATION: This condo is located at Purgatory Ski Resort in the San Juan Mountains. Purgatory is 25 minutes north of downtown Durango and is known as a family-friendly ski resort. It has 105 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres and 12 lift. The resort boasts an average annual snowfall of 260 inches. Purgatory Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities that cater to families, including ski lessons, childcare and a variety of restaurants. It is a more affordable option that some of the other ski resorts in Colorado, has a good mix of terrain for all ability levels, and stunning views. If you're looking for a resort that offers something for everyone, staying at this condo at Purgatory is a great option!
SUMMER AT PURGATORY: Purgatory boasts a bike park accessible by chair lift, an alpine slide, mountain coaster, and treasure panning. There are also hiking trails, jeep tours, and watercraft rentals on Twilight Lake. Purgatory hosts various events throughout the summer, such as live music concerts, festivals and bike races.
Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

The place was clean. There was something nasty on the wall walking in between the bed and door that I cleaned up. The bed is awful. Sinks in, in the middle. There was a heard of elephants above us starting at 6:30 am each morning. Other than that it was fine.

Our unit was small but not too small, good size for 2 people. It was a short walk to the lifts which is fine if you’re not carrying a lot of equipment. The one thing we really could have used was a snow shovel. We were lucky enough to be able to borrow from other people who were digging out their cars. Over all it was a good experience.

Everything was perfect for my 4 day ski trip. Close to slopes and the village. The condo is newly renovated and so cute and cozy. The only negative is the walls are paper thin so you can hear every thing above and next door. Unfortunately, this is something the owner probably has no control over.

The property was EXACTLY as described, and communication with the property owner was wonderful! All questions were answered promptly....and the remodel looks splendid! We loved sitting on the balcony to watch the rising sun -- and it was beautiful in the evening as well. The bed mattress was a little too soft and springy (fell to the middle when my partner rolled over), but this is not a deep enough concern to lower my rating -- just want to mention it as the only opportunity for improvement. Everything else was completely sufficient for cooking in the kitchen, relaxing in the living area, and showering/cleaning up in the bathroom. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Studio was in good/clean condition. The space was a good size for a family of 3. Sleeper sofa was a good size for our 12 year old son. Nice kitchen and fireplace. The bed sunk in the middle so made it hard to get a good night sleep. Could use more hooks to hang ski clothes and shelves/cabinets for clothes. Had to clear 2 shelves of linens to put our clothes away. Carpet in closet/household item closet was dirty. Didn't make me want to hang our clothes in the closet. Unit was further than I would've wanted to the ski lift.

The unit was under construction: dodging roof demo at entrance; no parking as it was all coned off. Should it even been rented? Heat was on overdrive - we turned the heat off and slept with the sliding door open. Woke to a lift truck and workers looking straight into the bedroom! Owner did NOTHING when we complained about the heat (we're from Florida and outside temp 50s -- how on earth could the unit be SO HOT?). See the tree view in the photo - NOT THERE - view is the back of other units. We had options and chose this unit for the advertised serenity that did not exist.

Everything was as advertised. We enjoyed our stay. The studio was newly renovated and clean. Wish there was an exhaust fan, a full length mirror and an ironing board, otherwise we had everything we needed. The patio was not clean, looks like they had been doing some drywall work and left the mess out there on the patio. But we still enjoyed even that area.

Great condo for a ski vacation
The studio condo was perfect for a week long ski vacation at Purgatory. Small, but cozy. Easy walk to the ski lift each day with a ski locker just outside the condo door. Full size fridge and stove and the kitchen was well stocked with essentials, so cooking breakfast every morning before a full ski day was a breeze. The bed was comfy and the whole complex was super quiet after about 9 pm. We would definitely rent this condo again and recommend it for 2 people.

Our vacation July 2020
Easy to get to, easy to find and plenty big enough for 2 adults. The only complaint we had was the soap dispenser in the shower needs to be moved to the end wall and filled.It got in the way a lot. Would have been more convenient. Thank You again

A great escape in the Mountains
My husband and I spent a week in the San Juan Mountains. We chose this condo due to the the close location of attractions in the neighboring towns. We did a great amount of hiking in the area. The resort made a great central location to all of our adventures. The owner was helpful when we had trouble with the wifi, and she left a long list of great recommendations for food, and attractions. We will be coming back!

Had a great stay at the property. It is a cozy studio but not much space was needed with all the fun and amenities around.

Totally misrepresented as to it being a viable living location
The property was so much smaller than represented in the pictures. There was absolutely no place in the unit to store any clothes or personal items. We had to live out of our suit cases and they had to sit out on the floor. The only closet in the facility was full of cleaning items and extra sheets and blankets. There were about 30 channels of TV available and only about ten were even watchable and with our clothes and other items stored on the couch there was no place to sit and watch TV. The drapes did not keep out the outside lights and could not be pulled together so our privacy was severely limited. We weren't sure if any of the dishes were clean as there was no dishwasher in the unit. The door to the "room" was loose in the jamb and every time the door to the building was opened our door rattled like someone was trying to gain entry to our "room". When the refrigerator ran at night it was loud enough to wake you up. We left a day early just so we could get some much needed sleep in a hotel. Oh yes, the tub was very slippery and there was no bath mat available. This is not a rent by owner but instead a management company selling less than desirable units and pretending they are owned by individuals. Don't rent this unit if you need clothes or personal item storage and don't need a good night's sleep!!

Perfect Size and Location for a Couple's Trip
The condo was the perfect size for our two-person trip and was well stocked with everything we needed. A short walk from the lift and Purgy's. Laundry in the building was a nice perk and access to the pool and hot tub was an unexpected treat. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
