Amazing views of Cruz Bay and St Thomas, conveniently located near town with access to the ferry, shopping, grocery, and restaurants. Minutes drive to the beautiful north shore beaches. Expansive outdoor living and pool to cool off in the evening after a day at the beach. Beautiful sunsets over the Caribbean toward St Thomas.
Ginger Thomas is built on two levels with a king size bedroom and full bathroom on each floor. Ginger Thomas has spectacular unobstructed views of the Caribbean waters and neighboring islands, the town of Cruz Bay and the mountains of St. John. It is located on Pocket Money Lane, a private cul-de-sac. The town of Cruz Bay and the ferry dock are .4 miles from the villa. We suggest renting a vehicle in order to see the island and enjoy town and the beaches.
As you arrive at Ginger Thomas, the lush landscaping welcomes you to your home away from home. The main floor living room is furnished with a new queen sleeper sofa and two comfortable chairs. The gourmet kitchen has granite countertops and two bar stools. The main living area leads you through an expansive 18 foot wide sliding pocket door that opens to the large outdoor living space. A portion of the living space is a covered veranda with a comfortable wicker couch, dining table and a Weber gas grill for your convenience while you enjoy the spectacular sunset with boats sailing in the distance across the Caribbean waters. The other portion of the outdoor living space is uncovered and includes chaise lounges in the sun and a beautiful splash pool on the deck.
On the lower level, via an exterior staircase, French doors lead you to a suite with A/C and a king size bed. The room has a full bath suite and a mini fridge, Smart TV and DVD player.
There is a house generator for any power outages that might occur on island. There is a 50 inch flat screen satellite TV in the living room as well as the lower level. There is also a collection of games and books.
New service for your convenience! We now providetrash service twice a week. Thereis no trash removal on St John. Normally all trash must be broughtto the local dumpsters on the island.
The property has many amenities such as Starlink Wi-Fi, which is extremely high-speed and always available, bluetooth speakers, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, UV water purification system, Smart TV's, dishwasher, washer/dryer and A/C in the bedrooms. No need to look further...this is it, reserve this lovely Villa for your stay in St. John and your family will love you een more. Our family of 4 had the most amazing time in St. John and this lovely home made our experience extra special. The home is in the most convenient location ( 5 minutes into town and the start of Northshore Road ) and is super clean and offers the stunning view over Cruz Bay. Kitchen is well equipped and haing AC in both bedrooms were such a bonus. The private pool was great, my teenagers took advantage of it almost every afternoon. The owner is very responsive to any inquiries and very pleasant to deal with. So glad I found this sanctuary and can't wait to return to STJ soon. book it now and thank me later !

From the second we arrived we felt at home! The views were captivating. The pool was so refreshing from our long day of travel. The snacks were an added bonus and the water cooler was awesome!! The house felt so clean and inviting but I have to give 5 stars to the beds!!! We have never stayed anywhere that we were so comfortable and felt like we were in our bed at home! Even though there is no ac in the living rooms the fans and breeze kept us at a perfect temperature and the bedrooms stayed cold all night with the ac! We will definitely come back to stay!

The house was clean, stocked with everything we needed to cook and relax, view overlooking St Thomas and Cruz Bay was astonishing and the SUNSETS were second to none! We all talked about how comfortable and fluffy the beds and bedding were throughout our whole stay, it was a main topic of conversation :) My sister even took pictures of the bedding labels and bought the same for her house at home. A/C in the bedrooms was a savior for us and kept us quite comfy as well. For clarification, these are 2 separate living quarters- 1 with the full kitchen and living area that goes out to the pool, and the other studio downstairs with a separate entrance and its own bathroom and shower. The pool was clean and refreshing with views from every corner. We grilled each night and everything worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this property for your vacation in St. John!

The owners did not disappoint! They thought of everything you would need. The additional bedroom downstairs was a private-convent-PREFECT space for 2 couples! From beach towels to spices to coffee to yoga mats to binoculars -JUST WOW! Even though the kitchen didn’t have air conditioning-it stayed cool thanks for providing FANS! The sun comes down hard and they have shades that pull down on patio just wonderful. Hey PORCH SWING too. Grilling in evening was great treat. WE WILL RETURN! Just FABULOUS-trash service right out the doors. Thank you. What a great vacation.

The location is great. The outside areas and bathrooms are really nice and comfortable. I think there must be a space reason for the dishwasher which is somewhat weird in that the plates are too big for the washer. We lived outside and that was great--great views, swing and everything. Also great is the generator that the house has. We lost power in a storm and our house remained lit up and we could finish making dinner. I would definitely recommend this place.

The pictures in the listing tell it all. The view is really that beautiful. Our family of 4 lived in the outdoor living area by the pool. It was perfect for reading a book in the morning. It was shady or sunny, depending on your pleasure, after a day of snorkeling at the many, wonderful beaches. It was also an incredible setting for twilight discussions with the family about the stars, the clouds, the islands and everything in between...and/or a nice game of Yahtzee. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and our teenage daughter loved the privacy of the suite downstairs. The hosts were superb in every way. St. John and the USVI National Park is a treasure, and I hope to do the exact same trip, including Ginger Thomas, again and again.

Loved the view, the location, the accommodations especially ice packs, coolers, beach bags, beach chairs and snorkels. Made the small simple pleasures of beach packing such a big help! Especially since traveling by plane.

We had a fabulous time in St John and our villa added to that wonderful experience! Coffee on the patio every morning - dip in the pool after a day at the beach - watching the beautiful sunsets - doesn’t get much better than that!! And Karen was so responsive to any questions we had and so pleasant to talk to. We loved our stay and hope to be back some day!!

Communication with the owners deserves 7 stars. They great and very responsive. VRBO accepts American Express; the owners do not. This led to conflicting payment accepted and payment rejected messages. The owners helped clear up the issue and made payment easy. The only negative was the small hot water heater. Showers always ran low on hot water, but recovery was quick. All parties had the same hot water to begin and all ran low at the end. This is really the best VRBO where we have stayed. All thumbs up.

Ginger Thomas was a perfect house for two couples. Unbeatable views, perfect for the sunset. Five minute drive to town, plenty of markets close by. You definitely will want a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get around island. Ample outdoor space was a plus!

The house provided everything we needed for a wonderful time in St. John. And the views are spectacular! The location was great and close to grocery stores and restaurants. The beaches on St. John are beautiful and the owner made it even better by providing beach bags full of towels, coolers, beach chairs and masks with snorkels. The pool was an added bonus for our trip. We had a great time! But the views from the terrace - I can't get over the views!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the villa. The view was absolutely amazing and the back deck allowed for tons of space to spread out and enjoy the island views. The owner/manager was very responsive and was very easy to work with. We loved our time on St. John and will definitely return!
I rated the villa 4 stars overall, but it could easily be a 5 star property with a few minor modifications. For example, there was only air conditioning in the bedrooms, which is great for sleeping, but if you want to spend any real time in the common areas, you’re going to be hot. Additionally, all of the disappearing sliding doors are a fantastic idea, but the installation quality was poor. For example, if you closed both the screen sliding doors as well as the glass sliding doors, it left a gap large enough for the neighborhood cats to get right into the house and take advantage of whatever food you may have left unsecured (this happened on our first night). Lastly, there was zero water pressure in the upstairs shower, so you couldn’t run water anywhere in the house while the shower was in use, or the water would just drip out of the shower head. Again, all seemingly simple things that would make the property a 5 star villa.

The design of the house is excellent, very open kitchen/living room to deck, making it very easy to basically live inside-outside. Bedroom and bath provide privacy, though. Nice bedroom, big bed. Nice bathroom with neat walk-in shower. Pool is very small, but we enjoyed it more than we thought we would. The view from the deck of the Bay and St Thomas is awesome. Pictures are very accurate.
Owner was very communicative and responsive to requests. They provided water and packaged snacks as a welcome, which was very nice when you haven't gone to the store yet.
Restaurants in Cruz Bay are right down the hill, literally a 2 minute drive. That's a big advantage to this location. It puts you right near stuff to do, short drive to beaches, ferry and boat tours. We loved St John, much more than St Thomas. It's mostly national park, so driving around is engulfed in nature, and every few corners bring you to another bay and beaches. Then you can return to this house for views and restaurants in the evening.

We love our stay at Ginger Thomas! From our initial communication while we awaited our stay at St. John to our rocky arrival, due to crazy weather. Karen & Dan were amazing. They are very attentive and great to communicate with.
The villa was perfect, had everything you needed for your stay. all the beach stuff (chairs/beach towels etc), kitchen was very well equipped and the whole villa was so clean!.
The bedrooms on 2 different floors were ideal for privacy with two couples. The outdoor space was so great, beautiful views, lovely dipping pool, the grill and outdoor seating - all fantastic.
I couldn't recommend this villa and the owners more!

This villa is a quick drive into Cruz Bay. The villa itself is charming, the indoor/outdoor living is perfect. We used the pool every afternoon after going to the beach. We can't wait to stay here again!

We stayed here in Sept 2023 and were so pleased with our stay. Everything we needed and more. Snorkel equipment, chairs, canopy, and coolers were provided. AC was cold, beds were comfy and the kitchen and outdoor area was fully stocked with everything for grilling, cooking or just making drinks. Lots of outdoor seating and having the pool at night was a major plus? Downtown and the grocery store are at the bottom of the hill, so, fun, the ferry and conveniences were right outside our door. I’d definitely stay here again! Karen and Dan were great to work with too!

Excellent location!
We loved our stay at this home. Kitchen had anything we could need. Nice beach chairs were a huge plus! We brought our own snorkel gear, but love that 2 sets were provided as well. AC was only in the bedrooms, not main area, so we did end up putting all 3 kids in one room. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful Villa with Gorgeous Views!
Ginger Thomas well exceeded our expectations! It offers a clean, comfortable and spacious floor plan with 2 Master Suites (one which is private downstairs) that was perfect for my husband and our friends to stay at! The outdoor patio and pool area were great after a long day at the beach! Last but certainly not least, the amazingly beautiful views from this property are second to none! Also our hosts, Karen and Dan, we’re very accommodating and if we had any questions they answered us immediately. We can’t wait to be able to stay here again in the future :) R. Hughes

The property was as described and Tara was very responsive and helpful to questions and information. Could not ask for more for late day relaxing in the pool, large patio for happy hour and dinner and watching the amazing sunsets.
