After parking, you will walk down a number of steps to approach the deck and cabin entry. The deck has a gas fire pit with 4 chairs, featuring a beautiful mountain view (especially when the leaves are falling). Upon walking through the front door, you will see the main floor common area: the kitchen + an open living room with an electric fireplace. There is a queen pull-out sofa bed and a fold-down futon in the living area. The bedroom on the main floor has a king bed with deck access, and there is a bathroom across the hall. The upper floor loft bedroom has a king bed with a private bath and a private balcony. There is a twin sleeper outside of this bedroom in the loft area. The lower level has a room with a bunk bed (double + single) with a private bath and deck access. There is another bedroom with a full-sized bed and a private bath downstairs. The rest of the lower level is a large game room/living area with a pool table, electric fireplace, and washer/dryer. There is a separate hot tub deck accessible from the lower level. ***NOTE: The stairsteps going to the upper and lower level inside this cabin are steep... young children and older individuals should exercise caution while using.

HIGHLY ACTIVE BEAR CABIN:

***Please take careful note: The presence of bears is common. While walking around corners on the property, please mindful, as bears are wild animals and could become startled. If you encounter a bear, PLEASE keep a safe distance and do not attempt to feed them, touch them, or approach them. We suggest that you keep your vehicle locked ALWAYS so that bears cannot intrude, as they commonly look for food.

ROAD CONDITION TO CABIN:

Please be aware that the cabin is located on a mountain. The roads to the cabin are steep, narrow and curvy. 4-wheel drive is encouraged. Exercise caution with decreased visibility during fog, rain, or snow. Depending on your vehicle, driving up and down the mountain may be very dangerous in snowy or icy conditions. We highly recommend that guests check in before dark due to mountain road conditions and unreliable GPS systems/cell phone service.

GUEST ACCESS:

There is an electronic keypad for guest convenience. Guests will be provided the code via the in-app messenger two hours prior to check in.

CHECK IN/OUT:

Check-in is at 4PM and check-out is at 10AM. While we try to go above and beyond to accommodate our guests, we cannot offer early check-ins or late departures. This helps ensure our cleaners can have everything deep cleaned and sanitized for all guests.

HOUSEKEEPING:

There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the cabin, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the cabin and a fee may be assessed if the cleaners note an item is missing. Before you leave the cabin, we kindly ask that you follow departure instructions provided prior to check out.

STORMS:

No refunds will be given for storms or other natural disasters. Mountain roads may be curvy and steep, and 4-wheel drive is highly recommended during the winter months. We do not refund due to road conditions.

INCIDENTAL DAMAGES:

Any damage to any items in the cabin including but not limited to couches, chairs, tables, TV’s, hot tub, beds, sheets, towels, pillows, etc., are the sole responsibility of the renter. Every item will be inspected before arrival and after departure. If a guest causes any damage, please notify the owners immediately. Incidental damages will be charged to the renter. It is our home. Please treat it as if it were your own! Failure to comply with the above will result in non-return of security deposit and possible additional charges. Booking assigns your consent to all terms listed.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, and fun for everyone. Stunning views. Parking for two cars. Beautiful hot tub and fire pit area. Hosts: helpful and communicative. How to get to Ober Amusement: Its a 6 minute drive further up the mountain from the cabin, or, you can drive down the mountain and take the tram up to Ober Amusement Park. Buy tickets in advance, things sell out, weather interferes. Downtown Gatlinburg: Drive down the mountain. 10 minute drive. Our Party: 4 adults and 5 kids. Ages: 8 months, 5, 7, 11, and 13. There is cookware, salt and pepper, tons of dishes and silverware. Bring: Aluminum foil, ex garbage bags, groceries, (driving at night is scary). There is a small corner store that isn't to far and a pizza place that delivers. There is a grocery store about 15 minutes away. Get groceries before going up the mountain. Baby gate is needed for at least the stairs in the kitchen.I didn't see one there so inquire or bring your own. Its multi level, young kids will need to be watched. Chalet, means cliffside, I know that now. I thought it meant fancy. This cabin is literally on the side of a mountain. The road on the way up is really intimidating at first. I wouldn't want to do my first drive at night. Dark, sharp turns and drops. Come with good tires, brakes and navigation. This was a vacation that we will never forget. *Rent UTV's, ski, snowboard, tube, mountain coaster, explore downtown, scenic lifts, tons to do located within minutes.

The house is beautiful and set in a perfect location. The parking is only big enough for 2 vehicles, but there is overflow parking. The house is weird because it's tilted to one side, which makess playing pool interesting. The view from upstairs is truly stunning particularly at night. The design and furniture work well together and is very well done. I wish I could have taken the kitchen with us.....it was gorgeous and well stocked. The little things matter like all the remotes in an easy to see basket, the basket of blankets, the visitor book, and even the welcome sign with all the information on it. The house was very clean and well taken care of. The only real negative is that the house was hot, but it's impossible to please everyone and everyone has different comfort temperatures. It was a great place, and we will definitely consider staying there again and even for longer trips.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Everything worked well and the access to the national park was just a short drive away. Even though we were located just a couple of minutes to Gatlinburg, it felt like we were in the wilderness. The views are extraordinary and the felling of seclusion from the deck is outstanding. The owners responded to questions in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Hosts were great at communicating with us. Just a few minutes drive to Gatlinburg. The family loved our daily bear sightings. Each evening and morning we had bears on the porch. Place was very clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Well worth it! Most well appointed cabin that I we have stayed in. Extremely gracious hosts. Be aware that there are bears. Almost daily a young adult appeared. One evening mom and three cubs right on the deck. Fascinating- just be aware. Tucked up the mountainside you have easy access to Gatlinburg and pigeon forge

The trip was for extended family to have a long weekend hiking and taking kids to Dollywood. The home meet all our needs for our Gatlinburg visit. We especially enjoyed morning coffee and late evenings gathered around the gas logs telling stories. I would highly recommended this home for your family.
