About this house rental

This 2 story pet-friendly home sits in a quiet area of St. George Island & boasts some of the BEST views! With a wraparound porch on the top floor, you can enjoy a cool view of the bridge as well as some stellar sunsets over the bay!
On the top floor are 3 bedrooms with: kitchen/dining room & living room, 1 king bed, 1 full/queen bunk, 1 queen bed, & 2 full bathrooms. On the bottom floor/basement is a full bath, screened-in private pool, screened porch with bay views, ping pong, darts & more!

With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for the whole family. The main living area is located on the top floor. On the east side of the house is a king-sized bedroom as well as a bedroom with a full over queen bunk. These bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo across the hall. Adjacent to these rooms is the open living room, kitchen/bar and dining area. Enjoy the spectacular view from every angle here! On the west side of the main area is a queen bedroom and additional full bath with a shower/tub combo. On the bottom floor of The Salty Snapper is where the fun begins! Enjoy swimming in the private screened-in pool, play cornhole and grill your favorite meal outside, or enjoy foosball, ping pong, and darts in the basement. Downstairs we also offer a shower and full bath along with a washer and dryer and an enclosed patio for additional bay views.

The Salty Snapper is all about location, location, location! Here you are just a 3-minute drive from beach access, or a half mile walk. You are also right down the road from the lighthouse (a great photo spot!) and the island’s grocery stores, and just a few minutes away from our favorite restaurants which include Paddy’s Raw Bar, The Blue Parrot, and BJ’s Pizza & Subs. If you feel like venturing off the Island, we suggest you sit back and enjoy the scenic drive over the bridge and head to Apalachicola! A quick 20-minute drive, Apalachicola is a historic fishing town bustling with fantastic local seafood, bed and breakfasts, boutiques, and it’s home to the famous Oyster City Brewing!

There is ample parking for your group at The Salty Snapper. There are 2 car pads in front of the house to accommodate you. We ask that you do not park on the grass. The location is central to lots of things to do on the island, making it easy for you to drive or bike around!

* The minimum age to rent is 25, no exceptions.
* We allow one small dog under 50 lbs. There is a non-refundable pet deposit of $150.
There is to be no smoking or vaping inside and/or outside of this home. If we find evidence of smoking/vaping, you will be charged $500.

AGE RESTRICTIONS: The registering guest must be at least 25 years of age and will be held responsible for all parties and/or guests of this reservation. The individual making this reservation must be 25 years old, must be present at check in, and must remain for the entire length of the reservation. Thank you for understanding!

Our stay was wonderful overall. Unfortunately check in was at four but the cleaners weren’t completely done til 5:30. We were able to hang out in the under area. The view of the bay is amazing! The house was mostly all clean- I would suggest some updates I. The bathroom areas and maybe some more kitchen items.

This was a great house for our family. We had plenty of space and everything was awesome. We enjoyed the screened in pool every day we were there. Would definitely rent here again!

There needs to be some light maintenance on the deck with nailheads sticking up & loose boards. Also suggest a keypad on the bottom entrance door. Overall this was a great place to stay. We have no complaints and are a family of 11 which included 6 adults and 5 children ages, 5,3,3, 1 & 1. The children are why we’re concerned with the nailheads on the deck & loose boards. Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Salty Snapper & would love to go back & stay there again someday.

SGI is our favorite vacation spot and have been coming for years. Overall the house was beautiful and our stay was wonderful. We would visit this home again. Easy upgrades or repairs needed but it didnt hinder our time at all.

We had an absolute wonderful stay! The home is beautiful, clean, spacious and in a great location. Close to beach and downtown. We also enjoyed the screened in private pool. Thank you for a great stay, we will definitely be back!

Wonderful place! So many options for outdoor seating, pool and the game room was great for the kids. The living space was huge and and accommodated our rowdy family very well! Love this place

This property is way over priced!! St George Island is beautiful however, based on our experience with our rental, we won’t be returning. I feel like we were taken for sure! Dirty plates were in the cabinet, freezer drawer wouldn’t open, sheets had sand/sprinkles, ping pong net was broken (had to wait for them to bring new), internet was an on going issue, bunk bed room didn’t have working lights, main shower doesn’t drain well so you stand in water as you shower, shower liner sticks to body. I don’t feel like any of this is acceptable at price they are charging! Look to next rental!

We loved our visit to the Salty Snapper. This house has it all, great locations, great water views, awesome wrap around porch, private fully fenced yard with grass and a pool, great outdoor grilling area with 2 grills. The house is well insulated, so even with a 2 year old sleeping many hours day or night, we never had to be aware of waking her. Kitchen is well stocked. Water pressure and A/C rock! Game room and lower level is finished and awesome for staging beach supplies, game nights, movie nights etc. There were 7 of us and we all had privacy and plenty of space to gather. Great find on SGI, will definitely stay again. PS. Would recommend a golf cart for beach travel if you bring lots of things for set up.

Nice house. There were a few things in disrepair most of which didn’t matter too much. The one bummer was that the screen was broken in the pool area so there were a ton of bugs around the screened in pool. Ultimately the place is nice and worked well for us though, it was just a minor thing and it didn’t stop us from using the pool.

We enjoyed our time at the Salty Snapper. The house was comfortable with nice view of the bay and sunsets. The game room was a hit with the kids. We cooked in most meals so the only recommendation is to clean out some of the old cookware and add casserole or baking dishes. We would go back again!

Easy check in process! The house was clean and had everything we needed for the week. We had to contact the property manager for an issue with the automatic lock and they were very helpful and timely with their response!

Pros: pool, game room (my kids really enjoyed!), neighborhood (neighbors were so friendly), location (can walk to restaurants/activities) Cons: sheets on top bunk were dirty. I had to wash them when I got there. Grills were dirty, not useable. Toilet seat was pee-stained. Locks on doors were broken or didn’t work. Mattresses were foam and very hot. Someone needs to go through the kitchen dishes and throw away things that are old and used. Checkin was supposed to be at 4pm. We had to wait on the cleaning staff until 5pm to check in. Overall, my family had a wonderful time at the beach. I think we could have found a better house for the price.

The house was perfect for our needs. Having a fenced in yard was great for our dog, as was the nearby small beach area where she swam a bit each day! The island, in general, is very dog friendly! The king bed was very comfortable! We didn't use any of the other bedrooms, although we borrowed a couple extra pillows from one of them! We would definitely recommend this house to a family group, or just two people, like us!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house! It was perfect for our family, with views of the bay and bridge to the island. We loved the wrap around porch and had fun in the game room. The inside of the house was very clean and comfortable. It was too cold for the pool, but it was nice too, and would be great in warmer weather. We also liked the convenience of the proximity to stores and restaurants. The host was very responsive and helpful prior to our stay. We will stay again!

Liked this rental a lot. My only complaint is the queen bed is little lumpy. The house is convenient to everything. We walked to the piggly wiggly a few times. Also, this house gets the best grill award.

We absolutely loved everything about this beach rental. Excellent views of the bay where we took some awesome photos of the sunsets. The fenced in backyard was great for our dogs. Ashley was extremely helpful and answered our questions super fast. Highly recommend this rental.

This place is great for a family vacation or just a get away for "ME" time. My 3 grands kids and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The private screened in pool was a real hit for all of us and especially the kids. I had to make them get out of the pool. The game room was another hit for us. . There just so much to say about this place that an email won't do. I forgot one on my bags and in a matter of an hour it was delivered to me. Thank You.............. won't give name but you know who you are. I enjoyed this place so much not only for the comfort but what we needed or wanted extra was right down road. There is just one regret I had about this place. WE HAD TO LEAVE. Hopefully I will be taking some time off and I certainly hope I can get this place again. To me it was something I dreamed of doing for over ten years. Thanks to Ashley and vrbo A dream came true. As I said My grand kids and I had a terrific time. No one was ready to leave and they are asking are we going to do it again.

The house is beautiful and spacious with well stock kitchen essentials. The beds are soft and comfortable. We love the pool, table tennis, foosball table etc. These keep the family busy and entertaining. Everything was great except for the weather. We didn't get to scallop. :-(
