We were in town visiting friends and family. Overall our stay was excellent! My elderly mother and I shared a first floor accessible room with 2 queen beds, which was just what we wanted. The room had most everything we needed; however, there were a few things I’d like to relay to perhaps make the next guests more comfortable. There was a coffee pot available that we couldn’t use because of non-working outlets. My mother had 3 essential electrical devices that required charging in addition to my cell phone; again no easily accessible working outlets except in the bathroom. There were a total of 6 that weren’t usable. No hooks or towel bars in the bathroom, except the assist bar next to the toilet. The bathtub was very slippery and dangerous to an older person who is already unsteady on her feet. I ended up purchasing a non-slip bathtub mat and a couple of Command hooks to use during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others visiting the Lawrence area.

Overall the experience was a good one and staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the smell of chlorine in the room and humidity. I’m assuming since the room is on the ground level right next to the pool, these issues are typical.

The hotel is nice inside, with a pool, restaurant, and updated facilities. However, the fourth floor had a huge problem with moisture; things simply wouldn't dry off. Even the towel I used the first night after a shower was still damp two days later. They had a large dehumidifier running on one end of the floor, so I'm guessing they knew about the problem, but it still wasn't enough.

Would never stay here again - hard to believe this is a Doubletree hotel. Is there no manager of this place? The exterior is not only filthy - the landscaping is nothing but weeds. Where is the staff? Nobody around but someone at the front desk who didn’t seem to be too interested. Time to renovate or tear it down.

Entry of building was very nice. Told us to park at certain letter, which was behind building and dark, weedy, instead of walking through with 2 small bags. Beds and pillows, nice. No soap of any kind on bathroom sink or drinking cups. No ice machine anywhere that we could find and front desk didn't answer. Checkout staff was rude. I expected better and will check out one of the other hotels next time. Not horrible, not great.

Super friendly staff! Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast on weekends needs to start at 6am and not 7am. I could hear someone on a cell phone talking in the next room. But all in all, I would stay again at this hotel.

Bed bugs - woke up with 15 to 20 bite marks on my stomach and legs. I was shocked. The hotel was otherwise fine, I was driving through and paid a little more for peace of mind. It was my first experience ever dealing with bites upon waking.

My reservation had been canceled when I showed up to check in. I booked through hotels.com they said my reservation was still active. So they canceled it and I rebooked at the desk for two nights and 434$. I now have a second charge for 217$ because they told me I was a no show. No one is available to help resolve the issue I'm told til later but no definite time. Wouldn't be such a big deal if I hadn't made sure for 30 mins previous to booking at the desk that I wouldn't be charged twice.

This place is old and it shows it. The bathroom has gunk down at the bottom of the shower glass on the edges that looks like it’s been there for some time. And the grout in the tiles is nasty. The rooms are poorly lit, and the first-floor rooms have no natural light. They forgot to clean our room one day, but the night people were able to get it cleaned when we got home. And at checkin, the reservation we had made nine months earlier (for a room without the ADA modifications had been converted into an ADA room, which we didn’t want. They said they were full and couldn’t do anything. After talking to several people the front-desk person got it changed. But we won’t be staying here again. The place is kind of dark and depressing.

The building was nice and the staff was friendly. When I checked into the room the bathroom had mold in the grout and excessive mold throughout the shower. I took a picture showed the front desk, they agreed it was disgusting, they moved me to another room, mold in the bathroom again all around the toilet and in the shower again. If the bathrooms can’t be maintained, it made me wonder what else isn’t cleaned. I slept one night in my clothes on top of the sheets, slipped the shower. Complete waste of $160

Front desk was awesome. Room is very outdated, it smell like a Motel, shower needs to have a deep cleaning and it has the heat vent above the shower. Beds are very uncomfortable. Hilton needs to do better
