All listings did not match actual conditions. Breakfast not included. Pets were allowed, however, listed as "not allowed" on the website. Pool closed, although I specifically booked it as it appeared to be a nice pool. The voucher they included for another pool was rated as unsanitary so we elected not to use the voucher. Voucher discount was for a crappy breakfast. Hotel booking, I called the lobby and specifically asked for a room away from the elevator and confirmed with staff. Bonnie said we were on the opposite end from the elevator. We were in fact booked right next to the elevator and ice machine. Tile was cracked and damaged in the bathroom. Carpets were saturated. Smell in lobby is likely due to sewer main backup. Moisture caused soft floor in lobby area. Blood was seen on beds at sides of bedsheets. We made it through the stay but I was very disappointed with booking. Thankfully our family powered through it and we had a good time. When you pay near $200 a night, you expect better.

False advertisement! There was no open pool or swimming, no mini golf like it states and not even microwaves in the rooms!!

Hotel looks like it dates back to the 70s. Paid $200 for a room that was dimly lit and uncomfortable. Water park was closed down when we went - no water in pool, just looked abandoned. Arcade was run down and overlooked the empty water park which was creepy. Only 3 actual games in the arcade and one did not even work (bowling).
When we checked in at 6:30pm, our room was not even ready. We were told by the front desk staff that they had to call in extra housekeepers because the ones that were there weren’t doing their job. Was told our room would be ready then went to it to find housekeeping had just started cleaning and it would be another half hour. Switched to a different room and that one had a broken tv that woke me up at 3am by flashing on and off until we unplugged it.
Overall I would recommend you stay at any other hotel on that strip - this one was poorly managed and rundown.

My girlfriend and I wanted to visit the area for hiking and access close to the Dark Park. So we booked this hotel with the lake view and we enjoyed it very much. It was only 3 minute drive to restaurants and downtown Mackinaw City and only 10 minutes to the Dark Park. The room had a great view & mini hot tub. No free breakfast was the only drawback but we did not mind.
5.0
Quick stay but open for check in at any time arrived late. Right on the lake can walk right out the back door onto the beach! Real nice stay and reasonably priced.
4.0
Great room for the value. We only were staying for the night and left in the morning. Great access to the lake and beach. For some reason they didn’t have any breakfast served which was one of the reasons we booked

So this place hypes their watermark, what a disappointment! The slide is out of service, it doesn’t look like the pool or kiddie area was cleaned in years! The lazy river was worse! Such a disappointment!

not a lot to offer in that area for quick dining. Also took 20 minutes to check me in when I had pre-paid online for the convivence.

Room size was much bigger than we expected. It wasn’t the room I reserved online, the staff said it was a much better room. Which was BS. After seeing it, I requested my original room choice and I was told, sorry it was no longer available. The staff offered No discount for the downgraded room. Accommodations were for 6 guests. Reservations were for a room with a lakeside view, unfortunately we only had a parking lot view and no balcony. Waterpark was only 1/2 useful due to it being shut down and didn’t open until 12pm, dirty foam floating on the water. Game room was nice, except the 2 bowling lanes that according to staff had been broken for 4yrs. No breakfast at all on the premises either, BoGo at 2 nearby locations with awful 2* reviews. A lot of trash, cigarette butts and animal feces around the property. No fire wood on site for the fire pits. Dogs are allowed here and I was not ok with that due to allergies. No pamphlets were available in the lobby either. I also reached out to hotels.com, not happy with this property or the lack of resolutions. Only thing that was nice was the location and view.
4.0
The staff is very nice, helpful, pleasant. The outside of the hotel looks nice, but the rooms are old, worn, no modern updates. The beds are comfortable. The shower had good water pressure. Please let customers know they need to request to have their rooms cleaned as well as fresh towels. The first floor bedspreads are a drab brown, second floor are white - makes a huge difference in how the room presents. There is no breakfast offered, yet some websites still list it as available. Please correct this ASAP. This makes customers very unhappy. I strongly suggest offering at least a continental breakfast. It really is an expectation with customers and it goes a long way. But be sure to advertise it correctly, as continental. Offering coupons to nearby restaurants as your breakfast option cheapens the experience. The coffee was good. The lakefront balconies are very nice, but they weren't cleaned. Spiders, cig butts, someone put out cigs on the wall. The location is good. Parking is good. Staff was very helpful with ferry and shuttle reservations. Kevin was wonderful. Every staff member was excellent. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Our room was missing the microwave and there were many cosmetic repairs needed. The place has a Waterpark, but the big slides were shutdown. Not the cleanest, but we still had a great time. The beach was great, with a beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge.
3.0
The water park area was very outdated, the 2 slides were shutdown looked broke. The ceiling was falling in some spots. The room was dirty, stains on every wall, mildew smell coming from air conditioner, spiders in the room, lock broke on the door. Strong paint smell came through the vents and hallway we called 2 times and they did nothing. The room key stopped working, all this for a 1 night stay. The only good part was the beach. Will not be back here and do not recommend.
5.0
Our stay way great! The room, while it does need updates, was very clean. We did have to go to the front desk for additional towels, as they don’t bring them to the rooms. The water park/pool area was a lot of fun for kids. Beach access was very convenient, as you just have to walk out the door and you’re there! All in all, would recommend to others and would stay again.
2.0
The staff was extremely rude upon checkin; the room had a tiny refrigerator that was on the ground; the Tav remote only had 1 working channel; the bathroom was dirty with piles of dirt in the corners and especially around the tub. The room was blowing 74degrees in the middle of summer instead of turning the air down to cool the 3rd floor room and the ceiling looked like it was peeling from recent probable water damage. For the outrageous price per night I expected better. There wasn’t even coffee available
3.0
The hotel was quiet and the kids really liked the Poole area. However, there were some things that definitely could be improved on. The hotel didn't offer breakfast or have any food onsite. Furthermore, the pool area is in need of a LOT of maintenance. There was equipment laying around everywhere, moldings were coming away from walls, paint on the water slides were chipping off into the water and most of all the large water slides have supposedly been closed for four years. Finally, the carpet and drapes in the rooms were dated and looked to be in need of cleaning.
4.0
This hotel is a little dated, but the location and beautiful view really made up for it. My children loved waking up on the beach during our visit.
4.0
we were pleasantly surprised. After reserving the room I had forgot to read all the reviews. So we were thrilled that it was as good as it was. The beach had people on it all the time. Everything about our room was it should be. The employees were attentive and helpful. I did go to the desk to ask for more towels and promptly got them. Having no need for the breakfast or the pool, we were satisfied. Will go back there again.
3.0
Carpet in rooms was disgusting. Smoke detector was not even hooked up, it was in the bedroom drawer. Bathroom fan was hanging from the ceiling. AC unit stunk when running! Had to constantly ask for towels, nobody cleaned our room during our 4 day stay. Waterpark ran out of towels and the big slides were not working. Arcade upstairs was not working either. Very, Very poor upkeep and will not recommend to anyone to stay.

Best hotel to stay at when visiting Mackinaw island. Indoor pool and beach access for the kids. Highly recommend.

Met expectations. Nice sized room facing the lake. They also allow dogs, which was a bonus for us. Would stay here again.

My husband I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and we enjoyed it. This time we went with our kids, mother-in-law and cousin, and we were disappointed. The hotel is outdated. The carpet of the hotel and the room was dingy. The ac unit was so loud that I had trouble sleeping.

The hot tub would not drain and the deck was under construction but what a beautiful view

Desk attendant very nice

For the price this hotel was ok. The location was nice, the beach was descent and the room size was good. The hotel didn't feel clean. The bigger waterslides were shut down, that was disappointing. My 2 little ones slept on the pullout bed and you could feel every spring. It was crazy but thankfully they are light. I would not stay here again but if you need a good price and it's a quick trip, its a good choice.

Great location. Close to everything. Rooms are really nice. Friendly staff and if you’re lucky you get the best front desk employee. Please see pictures.
We enjoyed the fireworks from our room.

The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean. The beach was great but it was sad how other people left their trash in the beach. Didn’t use the pool, a lot of children.
4.0
The hotel is in a good location for walking to downtown Mackinaw city and the ferry docks to the island. There is a shuttle for star line ferries (but the company has been plagued by maintenance issues with their boats - sheplers is much more reliable for labour $5 more a person round trip). The hotel itself has a nice beach and the waterpark is good for kids under 12. One problem with the water park is that it does t open until noon, and checkout is 11a, so you have to do the waterpark the day you're staying there (i.e., if you check in at 4pm on day 1, you can use the park that day until 10p. Then is you check out on day 2, you can't use the park. Wish I had known that before booking because we spent all day 1 at Mac Island so we lost the water park). There's no breakfast and closest places are packed in mornings. Suggest either planning on hitting one of the bakeries in town for quick donuts/muffins, or driving to one of the three diners on the west side of 75. The hotel is showing it's age, front desk staff was helpful, check for appropriate number of towels. The hotel just suffers from Mac City general problems-- the "upscale" hotels in town are 2x or 3x the price they'd be in any other town and are still legit 2 or 3* properties in terms on amenities. This hotel has a good reputation for honoring reservations and the rooms being modest but clean. That's not the case in a lot of Mac City hotels.

Room had a great view, but was musty smelling. Air conditioner need to be cleaned, air out. Moisture filled room. It was fairly clean. The pillows need more comfort in them and beds can be a little softer. Balcony view was amazing. Fireworks were fun. I loved the size of the bath towels.
2.0
Everything was awful. Smelled of mold, extremely dirty. Pool area looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years, majority of stuff was broke down. Did not get under the covers and never took our shoes off.
6.0
Everything was great except the building needs a lot of improvement and maintenance. The price per room/ or night should be revised to either include free breakfast or lower the price.
6.0
shower curtain smells really bad.
3.0
There were no toiletries in the room. The door did not close properly unless you forcefully closed it. Overall, it was clean though. They do NOT serve breakfast. It was my fault for missing that piece of info while making the reservation, but what place does not have a continental breakfast these days. It was very inconvenient for the family as there are not too many places to get breakfast in the city. We’d consider going back, but it won’t be our first choice.

This is probably a great place to stay if you have kids as there is a water park located here.

Front desk staff very helpful.
Advertised microwave in room; our room did not have one.
Sheets on one bed had two bloodstains. New sheets were delivered upon call, but they did not take stained sheets.
4.0
Pool looked dirty and most things were broken in the water park but the beach was amazing

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was a little outdated but was an ok stay. 400 sq ft seems small for a family of 4. The beach was nice and clean and the kids enjoyed playing there. It was close enough to everything within 15-20 mins walk.
