Lots of cobwebs, rug dirty and dry dog food on floor. Only a crappy couch to sit on and 4 hard wooden chairs for watching tv. Needed more lighting in bathroom.

Smelled of mildew rusty lamps, dirty shower, corner not vacuumed, outlets did not work. Plug in and plug falls out. Bed mattress and pillows too soft. Could hear plumbing other another unit. No lights near the steps from our room. Outside lights burnt out. Out of 15, 1 light worked.

The stay was not good …we had a big bug run across the bed ..it was like 12 am and when we called the front desk they told us we had to get a picture of it …one of the windows in the bathroom n door to the bedroom did not lock ..spider web was everywhere …inside n out of the cabin …wood in bedrooms was very dusty … no where to put soap in the shower …

It was decent. Had the Family cabin. Needs some updating. Lamps were wobbly and lamp shades were dirty. Toilet was broke(had to open tank and jiggle ball). Light switch cover was broken (literally, a 5 min, 5 dollar repair). Sofa was very worn.

Very disappointed because what I thought I was booking based off what the pictures showed was not what I thought we were getting! I thought I was getting a cabin and that it was on the beach! We spent way more than what I thought it was worth! The room looks like the 80’s all over again. The bathroom had someone else’s hair on the floor when we first got there. Gross! Sad because I love Mackinaw City and all of the employees I spoke with were great!

The room was not very clean. Cobwebs and bugs in the window. Loud air conditioner Bathtub needed re-caulking because of mildew. Up graded our 2queen bed room to a cabin that slept 4 to get a clean room. Cost of over $200 more a night.

We had 3 basic rooms. We expected cabins based on the photos but it was a motel with wood paneling. It was a place to sleep. Pros: The curtains weren't terrible, the beds weren't terrible and seemed clean enough. Discount ferry tickets. Short walk to public beach. Cons: The showers were too short for the average adult to use them. The floor felt perpetually damp. No breakfast. There was a plunger randomly sitting outside one of the rooms for the first two days, which wasn't a problem but was sort of indicative of the attitude of the place. One of the rooms had been more recently renovated, but the other two had thick coats of dust on their air conditioning units and they had the filter lights lit and didn't work very well or adjust easily. I wouldn't stay there again and it wasn't worth the price.

There was a guy camped out smoking in my chair just outside my window. This made me feel unsafe. Really gave me the creeps! No washcloths or toilet paper roll holder. Overall rundown vibes. When looking for something I had dropped on the floor, I found misc. remnants of previous renters. On a positive note, location is within walking distance of Macinaw Island Ferry.

When we checked in the room keys did not work and, once we got that issue taken care of, there were no towels in the room. Later, when we turned on the TV, only pay-per-view was working and the staff did not seem to want to help. When we complained, the manager threatened to call the police. The staff is not LGBTQ friendly at all and I think that Hotels.com needs to know this. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we left after just one. The place and the staff were terrible,rude, and loud.

Close to the Ferry to the island and everything. The cabin was So Dusty and there were no Bath Towels in the Cabin. We had to get the towels at the other hotel. One of the Bed was broken.

The cabins are ok, but in need of an update. Housekeeping needs to do a better job, there were big cobwebs everywhere, the ice bucket liner was missing, and one cup was unwrapped. Parking is limited. Not terrible, you just to be ready to do a little cleaning. Oh, the shower had no place to put soap, shampoo, or wash cloths, odd.

I liked that the chalet we stayed in was its own little cabin and it was clean. It was very old and the beds were not comfortable. There were metal parts of the bed sticking out each side making it a bit dangerous for my kids who tend to roll out of bed so we had to prop pillows covering the metal parts sticking out. Both beds in both rooms of the chalet were like this. It was strange that the shower had no shelf at all so the shampoo, conditioner and soap all had to sit on the floor of the shower. We did not go to the water park next door or the pool. It was in a very convenient location to walk to food, coffee and shops which was fun and we saw the weekly Saturday fireworks right outside our chalet! The larger log cabins looked brand new so those might be nice to stay in but I would avoid the chalets next time.

Overall I would give this stay just below average. The property grounds are a bit shabby. The pool was not clean, the outdoor hot tub was disgusting. The rooms were clean but the bathroom left alot to be desired. Poor lightning and the shower and counter are great if you're 5 foot tall. The air conditioner barely pumped out cool air and we didn't have WiFi on the second or third day. Unacceptable for the price we paid. The Expedia website also was not clear on the room we were charged for. It pictured a complete different room than what we were expecting.

Stayed here a couple of times in the past was a great place, where we was in the chalet's before this time we was in the lodge. This time the air conditioner wasn't working in the room, they gave us a fan to use to help move the air while they called maintenance. Maintenance never showed by the time we went to bed, sometime in the night the air started working and cooled the room down. The next day it continued to work just fine, not sure what happened. The bathroom could have been cleaner, there was hair on the floor around the toilet and vanity. If I was to stay here again I would do either one of the chalet's or cabin's they have don't think I would stay at the lodge.

Room was dated. The air conditioner and lights were very, very dusty. Mini fridge condenser was frozen over so it didn’t work well. Beds were really comfortable. We had great water pressure in the shower and very hot water. Having the patio chairs out front was nice.

Staff was nice, room was dirty when we got there. Bathroom trim was torn up probably from a dog being locked in there. No shelves or trays for soap in shower or bathroom sink. Room didn't look like the picture shown online. Said we had our own private parking spot- we did not. Towels smelled like dog. Bed was comfy, room was kept cool, jacuzzi was nice.
