The promotions of describing The Red Hut Inn is deceptive, information is not current on website and images of this hotel are overrated and does not compare to the actual studio room. There are no restaurants and bars in the area unless you walk to the other hotel (Best Western Hotel) and utilize the accommodations they have on their premises. And its better and wiser to just rent a room from Best Western. When The Red Hut Inn advertise "walking distance" to the water that is subjective. Its a bit of an overwhelming walk because you are constantly harassed by vicious barks of dogs, or confronted by the stray dogs desperately looking for food and water. The property is raggedy, dead plants, beat up and uncoordinated chairs and tables. Poor plumbing. The bathroom sink is located in the shower. The drainage is so slow in the shower that your feet are bathing in dirty water. Make sure you screenshot your reservation because the hotel will attempt to deny you your paid room. Keep in mind that this hotel also has a dormitory setup for homeless or drifters which is concerning because they just squatter around. I do not recommend The Red Hut Inn.

Located in a very secure neighborhood, close to cool restaurants et near the sea. AC in the room and nice patio, but no kitchen nor easily accessible dishware.

The staff was exceptionally hospitable and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance of several nice restaurants and bars, and there is a convenient store nearby. I was very happy with the hotel staff, and the price was very reasonable.

So I am a travel agent and I book this property for my two clients. I book this place with Expedia.com when I was doing the booking I didn’t see the option to add two names I only see the option to add one name so I add the primary person name. They both arrived at the property same time because they both coming from the same place. When they reach the property now the staff at the front desk going to let them know that is two person name should be on the reservation and not one and that they must pay $15 dollars more so the next person can stay in the room also. So I guess the staff at the property is scamming people and I am going to get in contact with Airbnb so they know exactly how these people are operating their business.

I really loved staying at this property. It felt like home away from home. It was very peaceful, staff were super friendly and caring and breakfast and dinner was good. One thing that will stick with me was the treatment I received. Staff always checked if I had a pleasant stay and how my day was going or if I needed anything. The overall experience for me was a 9.5 out of ten (There's always room for improvement).

The Red Hut Inn is an older hotel/hostel with a couple of single rooms and 2 8-bed dorm rooms. The staff keeps the rooms and common areas clean. The manager provides taxi service and coordinates day trips for guests (the Maya ruins and the cave tubing are 2 great trips….day boat trips to Caye Caulker for fishing and snorkeling are also available). A wonderful breakfast is available each morning, at a good price. And a local WalMart type store is an easy 5-minute walk. In addition to the wonderful staff, the Red Hut Inn provides a great opportunity to meet experienced travelers from all over the world who provide wonderful travel tips on the great travel destinations throughout Central and South America.

Location: Very convenient, safe neighborhood, near ocean, safe, quite, and I love staying at the red hut inn! Julia, the manager, always prompt, always smiling, very helpful and she is the best part of staying at the Red Hut Inn. I have stayed there for the last 3 years, one week everytime! Staff: House keeping is tip top! Pickup and Drop off from airport, convenient, safe, prompt, prices are reasonable! Pick up and Drop off at the ferry terminal, first ferry to and From Cate Cauker! Always on time! Thanks Julia! Floors: Cleaned and shinning. Bed mattress: Comfortable! Upper Porch: Large and has table for eating and working. Sofa and Chairs: Comfortable. Free coffee at 7 am daily. Coffee is good and flavorful. Bed sheets: Clean. Pillows clean and comfortable. Reception area: Well organized. Guests from all over the world, UK, France. South America, USA! Totally admire Julia for keep running and place like a clock, perfectly and professionally. ALL tourists seem happy! Beer and drinks: Available for cost. Brodies and Street vendors with local foods. Good restaurants with local cuisine nearby. Thank you Red Hut Inn, Julia!

Though the rooms are small, it was just what we needed for our stay. Staff was extremely friendly, foos was great and everyone was so helpful in helping us get around. Highly recommend the Red Hut. We would stay there again for sure.

Lewis was friendly and helpful with a check in problem and information about local amenities and transport. Property was a bit far from the center but reachable by local bus. Quiet most of the night mixed in with episodes of dogs barking and chickens crowing.

I'm going to start by the good things : there was hot water, good pressure, the bed was comfy, it was a calm neighborhood, and the older lady which I think was the owner seems to be really nice. The bad points : there was NO SHEET in the bed, just one to cover the mattress, and then you had a little bed cover, and that's it. They let the AC turning all night long with 18°C (yes, really ecological). And the lady in the reception on the morning ... Honestly, if you don't like contact with customer, just find another job. I feel like I was annoying her so much, from the beggining to the end that i saw her in the checkout. A smile or a nice word don't kill. If you have the choice, don't pick up this hostel. For the price, you can find better.

Julia and Lewis were very easygoing and friendly people who welcomed you into their space. The overall property was quite nice, as were the rooms, which were very private. The property was accessible to transportation and walkable to the city, if that's what one chose to do. The Red Hut Inn is a friendly, safe accessible space where one can relax and feel quite at home. It is affordable, it is not far from the city, it is en route to other parts of the country in all directions, and it is a nice hideaway for peace and quiet once one is done gallivanting around Belize.

We were offered taxi service to Belize City bus station for $25.00 and accepted. What we were not told that there was a bus stop less than 5 minutes away and the bus from the bus station would stop at this pick up point. The staff could have given us this information and we would have saved the $25.00. They knew which bus we were taking and could have told us there was a pick up point 2 blocks from the hotel.
