Very dated hotel, apparently under new management. No parking, had to pay £30 in the hotel across the road or pay £9 perday NCP a good walk away.
Only saw 1 person all the time i was there. This person had zero personality! No food available at all due to no staff for the kitchen

I stayed in a single sea-view room. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Good Wi-Fi. Lovely view of the pier and beach. The shower was hot and powerful. Unfortunately, the room and en-suite were not very clean, it was very dusty and there were bits on the carpet. The mug/spoon was still dirty from previous guest. The en-suite really needed a deep clean and the toilet had been left dirty in the bowl although it had a paper slip on the toilet seat to say it had been cleaned.
Parked in the local NCP for £7.95 per 24 hours which was only a 5-min walk to the hotel and straightforward (is cheaper if you download the app before you park). I had received an email from the hotel before my stay with the parking permit instructions (subject to availability) however they do not have permits at all at the moment as they have not been granted by the council yet. Found it a little confusing - the email was not needed as it wouldn't have been an option to have a permit and I wasted half an hour trying to find a space in the permit zone to then be told they did not have any to give out anyway! No restaurant for breakfast but there was a Wetherspoons a short walk away so was not an issue. Understand it has recently been taken over so may explain these few issues.

My experience of my stay at Pier Hotel would be average. I paid £50 per night for three nights. Hotel rooms were average, quite congested to walk.
Firstly, I was annoyed of the services provided. I understand the management was new and they purchased the hotel few days ago, the wifi router in my room wasn’t working. Things were not checked before the arrival of the guest. They did offer me another room on my Day 2 which I denied, because one day stay left only.
Secondly, no room service at all. We left rooms in a good condition, and we expected the basic services to be done when we arrive back to the room. Basic like; emptying the bin, replacing the laundry, providing the with toiletries because they get used every day. We always had to ask for the services, which is quite unusual for the hotels.
Overall, average stay at the hotel.
The best things about the hotel is, it is right in front of the Pier and Seafront. This is the only attractive and positive things about Pier Hotel.

The main area in the room was good; however, the bathroom needs some attention - loose tap, musty smell and rust in places.

Fairly average hotel. Bed was really hard and uncomfortable. Often had no hot water late in the evenings. Needs improvement for sure but was quite a cheap stay.

The property as just been taken over by new owners. The hotel manager is very polite and made you feel welcome. The room we stayed in was clean and adequate for me and my wife. The property has no catering facilities or bar so it is room only which did not bother us as there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars around the hotel. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Very shabby hotel unacceptable standard.

The hotel is in a terrible condition I am surprised Expedia sees it fit for purpose. I have never seen such poor quality service and an hotel in such dire conditions.
Very disappointed with need.

My single room 301. Didn't like almost impossible to use tiny hand basin shaving light not working.
Showerhead needs replacing, needle like spray!
Had to walk 1/2 mile to get breakfast at J.D.'spoons!

The room did not have 2 double beds as stated. Could not connect to the internet. There were no parking concessions, breakfast or drinks as stated at the time of booking and in an email after booking. Unfriendly owner and offered no apology for any of the things mentioned above.

When we arrived it was locked and didn’t open till 14.00. We checked in only to find it was under new management. There was no Restaurant or Bar, The front desk was only open to check people in. They gave me a fob to open the front door. The room was clean and well fitted, but we felt that it seem more like a Hostel then a Hotel. Not really impressed, and not what was advertised on Expedia. We spoke to another couple who had also booked through who felt the same. Probably won’t book it again.

Property recently under new management. Wifi was being installed. No AC in our unit, just 2 basic fans. On a really hot night. Location was very convenient. Amenities were basic.

The hotel was sold the day before we checked in, but i didn't get any warnings until I was checking in.
The new owners did not know where things were. Internet had been cut. No iron when requested. The chef had been let go, so no breakfast.
Overall terrible experience. Family was scared as we did not see many other people around. The reception was not staffed beyond 10pm and until late mornings. As we arrived later in the evening we couldn't find another hotel, we would have left otherwise.

Very nice hotel, lovely staff. Was greeted as we walked in and given a free upgrade - great price for stay

Excellent location for pier, promenade and town. Great views from our seaview room which was also a good size and quiet with solid walls. Looked to be recently upgraded.
Slightly awkward pedestrian access to hotel as nearest light-controlled crossing is closed but not hotel’s fault!

This is a very convenient hotel for when we go to the tennis tournament at Devonshire Park. The only problem we have with it, is the beds! The mattresses are very soft and not comfortable to sleep on. We did tell the hotel and they found us a room with a firmer mattress but this was still vey soft.

The hotel is in an excellent spot and the staff were brilliant. The web site is a little misleading as the emerald bar is not open and no food available in the evening
Our ‘sea view’ room had limited view.

The staff were very nice. The breakfast was good. However my wife & I have never experienced such uncomfortable beds. They need replacing. Also, a couple of comfortable chairs & a coffee table would have been nice. There was no where comfortable to sit

Good location, right opposite the pier and excellent for the promenade / beach. Took about 15/20 mins to walk into town. S good selection of restaurants on Terminus Rd which was about 5 mins walk away. On street parking (via permits from the hotel) for £2.20 a day, which was very reasonable. Room was good, with sea views, and everything we needed. All in all a good value hotel, I’d stay here again if I came back to Eastbourne.

We stayed for a night in their 2 bedroom apartment, room 115.
On the surface, all looked good but upon closer inspection the place needs a good clean. You can write your name in the dust on the blinds, there was left over cereal in one of the cupboards, hair in the bath and the carpets were filthy behind the doors so they obviously just hoover around things.
The toilet had come away from the wall causing our daughter to nearly fall off and there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke while laying in the main bed. Not sure if the smell was from the mattress or coming from other rooms.
No information was given to us about the hotel when we checked in although the receptionist did point us in the direction of the room as it’s up several different flights of stairs. There isn’t a lift and so if you aren’t able to hump your luggage up lots of stairs this might not be the hotel for you!
We weren’t impressed and will not be returning.

We booked a double room as there was just 2 of us, the room was decorated in a modern manner. The washroom was just normal sized, the bathtub was right next to the toilet seat, with the sink basin in hands reach of the toilet. The room overall had a nice ambience, I found the tv to be quite small, but it was a smart tv so was able to login into my Netflix. I would’ve liked if there was some sort of long mirror, there was a small one on the wall and in the bathroom; and I usually used the large mirror at the main reception to check my outfit and everything; but this wasn’t really a big deal.
I did find the hotel bar to be quite empty, didn’t see people sitting around, like I did in other hotels nearby, would’ve liked something going on, as it’s just nice to come sit and enjoy some entertainment when there’s nothing really going on in the surrounding areas.
The staff were really nice and accommodating, they were kind enough to hold my bags after checkout.
The area itself was nice during the day, lovely atmosphere and lots of cafes/ shops nearby. However at night, there wasn’t many people, it got really empty, as compared to places like Brighton where there are people always about. The shops close quite early 9pm some are there till 10.

We had a lovely stay, unfortunately the area around the hotel is dirty and run down and a favourite area for local drunkards to congregate. Other than that, our room was clean and comfortable. The cold tap in the sink could do with a repair or replacement.

My family and I spent a Saturday night there and were very disappointed. We stayed there two and a half years ago and it was really nice so booked it again but it has changed for the worse and has changed hands I think
When we stayed before it had waiters and waitresses in smart outfits ,this time we had a bloke in jeans and an untucked casual shirt ,last time the suasages were nice butchers ones and they had a wide choice of styles of egg ,now everything seems cheep ,I had about 2 mushrooms cut into 20 bits .
The tv didn’t work, there was a smell of cannabis in a hallway ,the Emerald bar ,an Irish bar down stairs which they still advertise and was really good before is shut and they done know if it will reopen, there was no other bar open I n the hotel .its such a shame ,really enjoyed staying there before ,would not again ,especially for the price

The hotel is so out of level the bed was downhill & a death trap. The tv didn’t work, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned, the handle was broken and couldn’t be flushed. No body wash or soap in the dispensers. Noisy room. Don’t stay here
