This huge luxury home is located in Carlsbad's Old Town is quiet and private, yet five minutes from the beach and town.

Perfect for multi-family stays or other large groups. 6 bedrooms in main house, 4 with baths, enormous private fenced yard.

Gourmet kitchen, formal dining room table seats 12. Atrium-style living room with 30-foot ceilings. Family room easily seats 16 around a fireplace.

The space
This is a 3500 square foot luxury home on a 1/3 acre flat fully fenced yard. You'll have plenty of elbow room, no matter the size of your group.

You're under a mile from the Carlsbad Lagoon, with boating, kayaking, waterskiing, jetski, and beautiful hikes

You're a mile from one of the best beaches in San Diego County - Tamarack Beach, with legendary swimming, surfing, and paddleboarding.

You're a mile from amazing Carlsbad Village with its famous restaurants, cafes, boutiques, surf shops, street scene, farmer's market, and festivals.

Meanwhile, you're only 5 miles from Legoland, 5 miles from Oceanside Pier, and a 30-minute drive from all of the sights of San Diego.

The oversize backyard means plenty of time to stretch out, chill, and let the kids run and play after a busy day at the beach. It is completely fenced and private.

The yard is surrounded by mature trees, greenery, and 50 palm trees. Features a large lawn, patio areas, a cozy hammock, and a sports court with basketball and night lighting.

Everything about this property is "multiple-zoned." There are so many places you can hang out.

The house itself is full of windows, letting in that amazing San Diego sun, yet because of the shape of the property, it feels private.

Great Family home in the heart of Carlsbad. We had a large family group staying at the house over the 4th. We were able to get to Tamarack beach with ease. Large yard with plenty of activities, BBQ, spend time with family. The home has everything you need for a large family gathering.

Beautiful on the outside, not maintained well at all on the inside. What was written on the VRBO website is not what we got. The house is very poorly maintained. The walls are badly in need of painting. The A/C was broken, as was one oven, master tub, the ice maker and one washing machine. One of the reasons we booked this house was because the sleep arrangements listed were perfect for our family. The listing described bedrooms one way, but the reality was different. Bedroom 1 listed a king and queen bed, but only had a queen, another listed a sleep sofa and futon, but it was bunk beds with a trundle, another listed a queen bed, but it was only a full size. The family room couch was very old, very dirty and uncomfortable. We ended up covering it with sheets and pillows. The back yard, although spacious, had broken furniture, broken clay pots and old unused equipment stored in a corner. Overall a poorly maintained, neglected property in a beautiful quiet area. We have contacted VRBO directly about our visit, but have had no resolution.

The house was roomy enough to comfortably accommodate eight adults and seven children (ages 2-8). The backyard is the showpiece of the property. The family enjoyed basketball, resting on the hammock, running around on turf grass, grilling, and socializing as a family. The disappointment was is the cleanliness of the house. We had ants in all the rooms, the living room area rug was vacuumed three times by one of my children because there was visible pet hair and debris. The vacuum canister had to be emptied four times! The family room furniture was very filthy, stained, and worn. We were also surprised to find that the upper floor above the garage had a renter living there. Although he had his own entrance to his apartment, we were startled to see him walking in the driveway to his apartment when we were there. My children and their children felt uncomfortable knowing that they had someone else on the property who had a clear sight into the house and backyard. It would have been good to know that information in the listing before we reserved the house. Although the listing had numerous photos, not all of them represented what we had when we were there. Several photos were of the apartment above the garage (converted to a bedroom). The house location was ideal for our family needs to visit the San Diego Zoo and Safari as well as the Tamarack Beach, and area restaurants.

The house was more than large enough for all of us to stay. All the amenities we needed in a quiet setting with little distractions. GREAT. Place for a family getaway.
