Great stay. Good location. Service was attentive and crisp. As the bellman as he offloaded my bag in the room, he asked how long I was staying. When I mentioned that I needed to leave at 7 am the next day, he offered to come get my bags. Not only did he do so, but he had my car waiting out front. Special shout out to Rodney Hartfeld, the Rooms Director, who was very proactive and accommodating when there was a slight delay in my check-in process. This is now my go-to place in Austin.

Older building and bathroom. Had to take two cold showers as water never heated up after waiting 5 minutes then another 5 throughout the shower. Next morning hot water came right on. They blamed it on the an old building but seems more like a hot water capacity issue.

It was a great spot to stay for ACL and had a lot of cafes and stores to stop by quickly to grab a bite. I stayed here due to it being close to the free shuttles downtown. I just wish the prices weren't so high because of ACL.
4.6
Perfect location and beautiful hotel. We were able to walk to ghost tour (highly recommend), art galleries, Comedy Mothership, restaurants, groceries, tourist attractions, and bars. Loved the terrace for morning coffee and evening cocktails, as well as dinner at the Roaring Fork. Can't wait to stay again!

Love this place! Always a great stay.

The service at check in and check out was very good. The basic functionality and shape of the room could use some help though. The toilet clogged three times and there's no plunger to fix it yourself. There were also several pieces of furniture that were worn out with torn fabric and such around the room. There was also a strong odor in the bedroom that we couldn't find the origin of.
4.6
The hotel reception desk was very helpful in allowing us a later check out time due to our late afternoon flight. Many thanks.
4.6
Nice, historic hotel that has been well updated. I will always stay here in Austin, given the chance.
4.6
The hotel itself is great. The staff is great. The location is perfect if you are looking to party and see the nightlife in Austin. BUT... I didn't expect to have to pay an additional $55.00 per vehicle, per night for parking. Maybe I'm naive, but when i pay a couple hundred a night for a room, i expect to be able to park my car cheaper than that.

The staff was very friendly but the room was right on top of an ally filled with dumpsters that were picked up by a dump truck daily at 3 am. Super noisy. The hotel was not full at all so we are disappoint they woken put us in such an unsavory room.

Nothing to share at this time.

Really nice hotel with a bit of old world charm. Front Desk staff were great and the bartenders in 2nd floor bar were great as well. Overall ambiance of hotel was wonderful. Location was ideal for seeing downtown attractions.

Beautiful Spacious Room, great treatment and fast valet

Upon check-in, we were very impressed with the charm and character of the property. Arriving in our room, the lights did not work, later on not knowing we learned the hard way that our refrigerator did not work. They said it was not a refrigerator. it was part of the wet bar. Who put the refrigerator there and it not work!? we went to dinner downstairs at the steak restaurant, it was excellent! Not knowing the refrigerator did not work we lost all our leftovers over $200 of food. Decided to go sit in the hot tub after dinner to find out it has not worked in a long time. The sign that says it’s down for service, dust on it! The pool was ice cold. The next morning I brought my concerns to the front desk only to receive attitude so I told him just to charge my car and I walked away. They overcharged me because I haven’t picked up the truck and they called it an oversized vehicle.

We LOVE THIS HOTEL!!! It is not only a superb location & can walk EVERYWHERE, it is ful of well appointed art, furnishings, historical pieces, and design. The rooms are awesome (we upgraded to a suite on 11th FL) and those views were right at the Capital! The patio/deck on 2nd floor wraps on both sides overlooking the streets and people watching is great from there! Hot ub was not working, but pool and work out room was nice. SERVICE WAS (& ALWAYS IS) AMAZING!!!

Everyone is super nice. Nice facility. Great location.

It was awesome. Staff was great.

The pool was drained for maintenance halfway through our stay, so not available
There is an additional fee (resort fee) that added over $100 for the length of our stay that was not mentioned when booking the hotel on Expedia.
They allow you to use a $10 per day stipend but then charge you taxes on anything that you spend it on and is not covered within that $10. The $10 can not be used to help offset the cost of parking which ended up being an additional $64 per day.
You have to pay for any little additional thing including a mini fridge in the rooms.
4.6
It is a beautiful hotel, great staff. I believe the Expedia listing listed views, the windows are understandably difficult but quite dirty, don’t pay for a view. Also there’s a hidden incidental “destination” daily charge on top of the room fee which seemed excessive for a hotel

We loved our one night stay at the Stephen F Austin. The bar with the balcony overlooking Congress was amazing and where we spent most of our time. The room was extremely comfortable and the views were pretty cool. The windows could use a cleaning and the room was a little warm during the day (it is summer in Austin though).
4.6
The property is one of the oldest in Austin and it is superbly maintained.
The Roaring Fork restaurant is amazing.
The front staff and check-in are first class.
The bar staff is good yet my experience there was terrible. One of the bar staff kept usinf coded political language in a very threatening manner. I did not appreciate feeling threatened or unsafe while trying to have a few quiet drinks at the bar. I did alert management so we will see if that behavior changes. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant yet Uber Eats will deliver.
Overall the hotel is great the rooms are clean the staff is great.
It was just this one experience that I did not appreciate
4.6
Amazing location, bar on 2nd floor and a pool available.
4.6
Centrally located. hotel is a bit dated, but everything was functional. Shower was great ! Good pressure,/ hot water ( tell those other franchises that this matters). Parking garage was a bit "tiny", but we made it work. Overall good experience.
4.6
A classic hotel with all the updated technology. W bowyer dinner at the Roaring Fork restaurant. Also just blocks from a great coffee shop and 7-Eleven.

Great hotel in great location

I travel to Austin on business 4-6 times a year and stay here every time. It was much nicer when it was an Intercontinental prior to the pandemic, but it’s still a very good hotel. This was the first trip I east upgraded to a nicer room, which was a real disappointment because I don’t think the standard room is a great value. I don’t like the shared bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the showers, it feels cheap and a little gross. Otherwise I like the place.

Great hotel and staff. Highly recommend
4.6
No room service is a huge deal for this property. I definitely did not feel like I was staying at a four star hotel. Just not the service or amenities that make that feel cozy.
4.6
I had a great stay. This was my second time staying here. The only thing I want to mention is my windows looking out to the city were super dirty. Also, the mattress and pillow top was not super comfortable. It gave me a back ache every morning. Other than that, all was great!
