So thankful for finding this absolute gem!

Amazing service, we felt very welcome and safe. Room and bathroom were superb. Our hostess was so very friendly and amazing!

Exceptional

The owners are extremly friendly and hospitable. They will do their best to make your stay pleasant. You'll feel like at home. I arrived late but Shirane made a delicious dinner with local dishes just for me. Furthermore they let me take a shower lending a clean towel even I'd done the check out hours ago. The facilities are simple but everything it's clean and comfortable. Wifi runs well in the common area. It's the cheapest place close to the fort. The breakfast it's included. So gooood value for money! 100% recommended.

Rooms lack basic facilities like locker, no socket on every bed (only one socket for the whole room), no proper handwash/soap in the bathrooms

Cheapest place closest to the fort. Has a guesthouse feel with really lovely people running it. AC in dorm room was good. The breakfast was very simple, but tasty.

The stay at Jungle Lodge was very nice. The AC in the room was working perfectly, bed was clean and comfortable for two people. The bathroom was shared and nice. There was soap and toilet paper. We really enjoyed the contact with our host family - they were super helpful and we had the luck to cook a Sri Lankan meal with them one night which was just awesome - delicious food, so many things to learn about Sri Lankan food. We would definitely stay here again. The Location is very good - 5 minutes from train station and bus station. Walking distance to Fort etc. but quiet at night - just some dogs barking. In front of the room are sitting options on the Terrasse.

The value for money is really good and therefore I don‘t want to criticise anything. We would come again and recommend it to other travelling people.

Authenticity and hospitality at its best

It was an amazingly beautiful stay with this very hospitable Sri Lankan family. I was allowed to have an authentic look into some of the family life. But the room also provided the privacy and cleanliness one would expect. So in total I am really happy to have stayed there and might return!!

Exceptional

The hostel is just 5 minutes walk from the Bus/Railway station. The Dharmapal park and the Fort are at walkable distance. Cargils, KFC and Dominos are easily accessible. The rooms are Air Conditioned and Clean. The food is delicious. Moreover, you will feel at home. The family treats you literally like a member of their family.
