Welcoming, wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble.

Although we arrived when it was dark, on waking in the morning the location was idyllic. We loved the idea of sitting outside in the warmer weather watching the barges going along the canal. The hospitality was exceptional. As we arrived late we were offered a hot cooked meal, at a very reasonable price. The owner Gail and her mum Jean were so easy to chat too and made us feel so relaxed. When up in the area again, we will definitely book another stay.

An ensuite room would have been ideal. But we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the bathroom.

Charming and comfortable place to stay.

Our stay at the Canalside was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hosts were so kind and accommodating. The food was fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience.

Warm and friendly. Home from home.

A wonderful warm reception and good old fashioned hospitality. Very clean and warm. Comfortable. I was offered an evening meal which I thought was amazing and great value. If I am lucky enough to get a booking I would go again. Thank you Gale and Mrs Mum.

Only that my room was not en suite...but I booked it as such so it was not a surprise. I just prefer en suite if available.

We all enjoyed our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer.

The breakfast was wonderful with so many choices, and beautifully laid out. Could not fault anything. The owners were really lovely and welcoming.

Very accommodating.

Had a lovely stay, they could not have been more accommodating and kind. When we arrived, they kindly made my 10 year old some chips and even offered me a pack lunch the next day. Above and beyond, they really are lovely. Location, room and breakfast, excellent. Highly recommend, although will regret saying that when they are fully booked.

Shared bathroom, was no problem, plenary of clean towels and every shower item under the sun.

A wonderful B&B in an outstanding location.

A brilliant location, especially as we were walking the Grand Junction Canal towpath :-) Gail was a great host in every respect, helpful and flexible. Breakfasts and suppers ideal for hungry walkers …

Right by the canal

Great location right by The Grand union Canal with narrow boats moving up and down during the day. Comfy bed and room., Good breakfast.

Fabulous hosts, beautiful location and would highly recommend.

Fantastic peaceful location next to the canal. The hosts went above and beyond for us getting up very early and providing a breakfast to takeaway.

A wonderful B&B with wonderful hosts.

This is a wonderful B&B. The hosts could not have been more helpful. I really felt that they cared for their guests and I was looked after. They especially paid attention to individual needs and preferences which can be very rare. The setting is beautiful and the room comfortable with lots of considered small details. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would very much recommend Canalside B&B.

The bathrooms are shared - and I could only find one shower - which may not be ideal for some. There is, however, a wash basin in the room. I would suggest you really also need a car as the location is a little isolated.

The finest experience I have ever had in England since my first trip in 1989.

Everything ! Gail and her mother are phenomenal! I felt comfortable and at home in this exquisite property. Truly one of the most unique places I have ever stayed at in my life. The best English breakfast I have ever had in my life.

a great little b&b - hope it continues to thrive

the b&b exceeded my expectations - the two hosts were so welcoming and really made me feel at home. I was given a better room (booked a single, got a generous double) at no extra charge. The evening meal and breakfast were of good standard - all homemade and good choice. Would go back. Exceptionally clean.

my room overlooked the canal and was perfect

This is an excellent B&B run by Gail and her mum. Its exceptionally clean and there's Sky Tv and Netflix in all rooms which is a rarity but very much appreciated. I highly recommend. I've stayed in hundreds of guest houses over the last 30 years and this one is right up there.

A wonderful stay!

It was dog friendly, in a beautiful area, close to walks and the motorway. The house, and our room was very comfortable, and pleasant. The host was extremely kind to us, as we had a spot of bother. She went out of her way to help and support us, offered an extra night free of charge, food, clothes washing facilities, and called on her friend to assist us. We went home feeling nurtured and comforted! Thank you!

Very friendly family run b&b. Catered to our dietary needs at breakfast, offered us a snack, filter coffee. Laid back, slow pace location. Right next to the canal as the photos show. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Honestly was one of the loveliest stays I've had anywhere. If you're thinking about booking to stay here I say go for it!

Most enjoyable 1 night stay - would definitely stay again.

Lovely property in a superb location. Hosts were most accommodating and I was able to park my motorbike in their garage rather than leave outside. Cleanliness was exceptional and the room was lovely.
