Private pool open Memorial Day through Sept. Access to the heated pool at nearby Apple Canyon Lake (10 min) is included, available determined by Apple Canyon Lake. Really big. * The Living Room * This room is gorgeous, and the central hub of the house. Sit around the enormous wood burning fireplace, ample seating, and direct access to the kitchen and the back deck. * The Kitchen * This kitchen is for hosting! There are enough plates, glasses, silverware, and cooking utensils for your party of 16. -Coffee bar -Keurig Duo -Instapot & crockpot -Teas & teapot -Second fridge -Settings (and seats) for 16 -Spices and basics -Baking sheets -Pots & pans -Plastic options for outside and kids * Sleeping Areas * This lodge has 7 spacious bedrooms! King mattresses in six rooms and blackout curtains make every room a great place to sleep. The primary suite is a stunning private room on the main floor with a walk-in closet, sitting area with fireplace, walkout to the porch, and a two-person jet tub. It’s warm and cozy and romantic, with beautiful views into the backyard. The second level has four bedrooms, each with a comfy king size bed. Two have additional loft beds. The Castle Room also contains trundle beds and is decorated for the kids. Two of the bedrooms on the second floor share a full bathroom (and laundry space), a great layout if you’re sharing this lodge with multiple family units. Both bedrooms in the walkout basement have sitting areas if you need some alone space, and one of the bedrooms includes a desk area for study or work. All bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable mattresses and linens to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. * Game rooms: time for fun! * This home has two separate game rooms. The large den downstairs has a pool table, large screen Roku TV, and foosball table. Upstairs, there is an air hockey table and a smaller Roku TV area. This room also has a study nook, and well-equipped workout area. Guests can self-check in with an electronic keypad. Guests must be able to comfortably navigate stairs, as there are four front steps up to the front door (plus stairs to the upper and lower levels). * Apple Canyon Lake Amenities Are Included - Woohoo! * While staying with us you will have access to Apple Canyon Lake’s marina, beach, and pool. 16 guest passes and a parking pass are provided. * Other buildings on the property * Onsite is an 1850s schoolhouse and a large storage unit with long term storage rentals. Sorry, no access to either of these buildings for your safety. Please stay off the schoolhouse porch, and don’t try to enter - this building needs some work! Currently, no access to the garage or the treehouse; the treehouse also needs a few modifications before it becomes kid safe. Welcome to the country where the city is far and fun is near! The neighborhood is farm and ranches with a mile or more between neighbors. There's no light pollution and access to town is just 5 miles away!

This property is amazing! It feels like the space is never ending. Everyone had their own bed. The house was stocked very well! The only complaint is that it is 30-35 min from Galena so it is quite a drive, but otherwise everything was perfect!!

The home was beautiful and very cozy. The beds were great with soft sheets. Lots of fuzzy blankets everywhere. We also really enjoyed the fireplace. The host was amazing with quick responses and making our stay wonderful.

We really enjoyed this place. We had 9 adults and 4 kids. More than enough beds and space for all, with room leftover. The addition of the hot tub made everyone happy. We plan on coming back in the summer to be able to use the massive pool. Great communication with the host.

I can't say enough about this wonderful property, but even more impressive was the responsiveness of the hosts. Mara was amazing. We selected the cabin to have an early Christmas with our family coming in from all points of the globe. To start, Mara ensured the cabin was decorated for Christmas including putting a tree up for us. We then asked if there was a DVD player as we have Christmas favorites we like to watch together. There wasn't, so Mara went out immediately and got one installed for us. Finally, the house was ready early, so they allowed an early check in since we had some family arriving at noon. The cabin itself had everything we needed and plenty of space for our four generations (13 guests). It is beautiful inside with things to do on all three levels. We will be back this summer to enjoy the pool and other outdoor activities near by. I highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a great place to get away.

11 of us went a girls trip to Galena and loved it! The house is absolutely wonderful and Mara is totally pleasant and always quick to respond!!!!

This was a great place to gather our kids and 7 grandkids together in one place (ages 6 months to 10 years) and still have plenty of space. The weather was perfect for using the newly redone and sizable pool and our family had a blast! We also appreciated how responsive and easy to work with Mara (our host) was.

We rented this huge home for an extended family vacation with our three adult chilldren & spouses and 7 grandchildren, newborn to 8 years old. Each family had plenty of a space of its own and lots of open space for us to get together for dinner and games, etc. It’s a beautiful home with lots of room for fun. The home has access to Apple Canyon as well which has incredible amenities where we rented a pontoon boat, enjoyed the great pool (perfect for kids) and the trails around the lake with beaches, etc. It was a fantastic and memorable family vacation. The home is thoroughly equipped including washer & dryer and the kitchen has everything you would need for some great dinners. There was nothing we found that was lacking. Quick responsive communication from the owner. we would gladly stay again.

We decided to stay at the Wonder bear lodge with the whole family (grandparents to grandkids) and everyone had a great time. There is plenty of room to spread out, it was clean, and we loved the lodge vibe. The house is cozy and had everything we needed. There was even a diaper changing table! We went to the pool at Apple Canyon Lake and ate at the restaurant there as well. It was so nice to have such a nice pool nearby. It was a great family vacation and we really enjoyed our time here.

We had a great time. The house is huge! The kids enjoyed the playrooms and kept themselves very busy. The pool at the lodge was really nice and the kids also enjoyed the lake. Great kitchen for making family meals. We also played Minute to Win-it games and had a blast! Great grill for cooking outside. The cabin was very well supplied - kitchen and bathrooms. Mara was awesome to work with and always responded quickly to our questions. She even made special arrangements for grandma. Great host.

The cabin itself is huge - we needed a place that had 7 bedrooms for 13 people and this absolutely fit the bill. We really appreciated the two fridges and the very firm and comfortable beds. Every one slept great!
