Good location near cultural center. Interesting historical building.
Not welcoming, staff unfriendly and seemed irritated, foyer smelled like strong spices which was overpowering, foyer was not decorated elegantly as would be expected for this type of building and price, room was not clean, room was huge (ADA although not requested) but had no where for 3 people to sit except one desk chair, no bedside table on outer sides of beds.

Beds a little too firm. Would love to see pillowtop bedding.

The property is convenient to museums, downtown, little Italy, Fairmount and Cedar, and more. The rooms are spacious and attractive. And the hotel staff is so friendly snd helpful.

Gothic revival architecture is incredible.
1 Elevator which is manned--if the elevator person is taking a break, then the elevators don't work.

The original wood work in the lobby was beautiful.
The rooms were poorly constructed and most of all dirty.
This was billed to me as an upscale, romantic hotel so my husband and I chose it for our anniversary.
We really didn’t even want to use the restroom. It was gross. Visible dust on the door and dirt on the floors.
The staff was VERY casual. I thought I would walk in to an attentive, well dressed staff. Instead the lady checking us in was wearing a purple striped t-shirt and and a purple beanie. The guy checking in the guest next to me was wearing sneakers, cargo pants, and a hoodie. No name plate. I didn’t even know he worked there at first. I thought he was a guest.
Also there were air movers everywhere in the restaurant (which we did not eat in. You could just see them from the lobby and it was loud). And it took forever to catch the elevator.
There was just no effort put into anything it seemed.
Overall, we were very disappointed in this hotel

The staff was warm and the building is gorgeous. The hotel was immaculate and very nice.
We had issues with room service, and I wish the front desk would have mentioned to us when we checked in that they were understaffed. We also had been told we could use a shuttle for the park, which was just slightly over the mileage radius by the manager of the shuttle service but when it came time to use the shuttle, the driver would not take us.

Staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. The bar and restaurant were quite lovely. The lobby was beautiful. Wonderful historic elements. Close to or in the center of University Circle.
We only had one chair in our room and that was the desk chair. I expect a second comfortable chair in a room with a king bed. I also expected a small refrig in the room. The description on Booking.com led me to believe breakfast was included which it was not.

the room was spacious, warm and inviting. the note card from Jennifer a nice touch, and the cookies after the drive in rain and traffic made the afternoon much brighter. Staff very courteous, friendly and informative. Bed and pillows very comfortable, got a great night's sleep

Close to the Cleveland Clinic bldg we needed. Old gothic look was great! can only imagine what it was like back in the day.
Not really a complaint but the elevator needs a little work. Stopped at random floors and always went to basement first before heading to our floor.

location
could have been cleaned a little better. the elevator was ridiculously slow

everything is good it’s not a modern style hotel, more of a classy older building that has been modernized. no complaints
elevator was malfunctioning

The guy at front counter was the best. He was very helpful. And kind.
The elevators too slow. Paid 35.00 for breakfast and didn't even eat it cause it tasted nasty either myself or spouse ate

Our room was very spacious. The staff was nice, personable. I would definitely stay again
LOL the hotel is listed on the "haunted places" but alas, I didn't experience anything. Will have to try another time! (I loved this place)

The closeness to Cleveland Clinic. Staff was great and very helpful, they deserve 12 stars.
Not a fan of the glass open shower and thin door on bathroom.

There was unfortunately not much to like about this hotel - simply its location close to where our family lives.
Unfortunately, the staff during our whole stay was appalling - the quality of the service they offered and their behaviour towards guests left much to be desired. They were unkind, patronising and simply un-professional. We decided to extend our stay in Cleveland, deciding to book an extra night with the female attendant at the check-in guest. Two days later, upon leaving the hotel for some exploring, we confirmed with this same female attendant that all was confirmed for our extended night - it was. That same morning, we were called by a male attendant who announced that no extra night had been added, that we needed to come back to the hotel immediately for check-out (all this without even a hint of social pleasantries). We finally sorted out the issue but were left unimpressed by the clear lack of communication between staff.
Housekeeping was also appalling - it turns out, that basic housekeeping must be REQUESTED as opposed to expected in this hotel. During our 6 night stay, we only ended up having housekeeping clean our rooms once. In addition, we were left to wonder what 'housekeeping' meant to them as the sheets on the bed were just pulled over the pillows and the bathroom had barely been cleaned.
The breakfast left much to be desired and the hotel had absolutely no charm whatsoever, which was enhanced by the general lack of respect and pleasantness of the staff. This was a hugely disappointing stay as the value for money is simply nonexistent. This is an overpriced, basic and disappointing hotel. We absolutely do not recommend it. (Genuinely thought we would be better off at a motel as you can at least know what to expect.)

The staff really made me feel that they were there to make my stay the best it could be. The pillows were exceptional and the room was spacious and large.
3.5 / 5.0
The shuttle service. The warm cookies were a nice touch.
The parking was secure but I feel it should have been included in the price of the room.

The place looked like it was built with style in mind. The bathroom was roomy, especially compared to most hotel bathrooms.
I got there, the mirrors were filthy. It looked like grease spots all over. The guy at the front counter checking in was very rude and far from hospitable. He didn't explain where my room was, so I asked and he got very snarky with me. It was never that there was a security deposit, nor that there was a fee for parking. Overall the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
