However my wife didn’t think so

They are renewing and the restaurant was closed and there is no place to eat nearby which was more than disappointing.
The wifi did not work and the lady at the reception was quite impatient and rude, and blamed our telephone. When it turned out we could not get on with the TV and returned to the reception there was a man who offered to come to our room to check wifi and tv. He offered another option than guestwifi, which worked so there was nothing wrong with our phones. Checking tv, there was really something wrong with the vires but we did not want it to be fixed once we had wifi connection. He was very kind and helpful.

It was better!

This was a wonderful gem to find! Although they don’t serve breakfast or have coffee for the morning, they do serve lunch sandwiches and pizzas for dinner. It also has a nice lounge and cute little gift shop. There is also a Par 3 nine hole golf course! We will stay there again our next trip to Arizona!

Like? There wasn't much to like.
Oh boy.. let's start with the price, at 200 a night you would expect at least a view. The room, out dated, stuffy, and if you were going in as a couple don't expect to still be a couple when you leave. I get that it's historic but can you get an update?

nothing
man it’s 2022 and they still have floor model fat back Tv but charged me 111.00$ for two nights it smells like a old folks home when you go in they only had one roll of Tp ln the room.. I’ve never seen staff I had to go out and buy my own worst hotel ever

Easy to find off interstate. Nice setting. Friendly check in.
Table, microwave, frig and coffee pot were nice. Plenty of room.
Flat pillows, very used shower curtain and tub. Grout is dirty/stained. Bathroom needs a good cleaning . At least anew shower curtain.
Needs updating. Prices too high. 132.00 for a 70.00 room.
Noisy folks in hall in the middle of the night.

Clean comfortable
Middle of nowhere ! but good scenery if you like mountains

Room 8 has a tub that drips. That wastes a lot of water. The carpets in hall are run down

I was arriving really late thanks to unexpected traffic and I love that staff called to check on me and stayed open for me. Their concern was apparent and appreciated. Oh and it was super quiet and the wifi worked great.
Water pressure could have been a bit higher and I was disappointed to learn their restaurant didn’t serve breakfast. My fault for just assuming it did and not checking ahead.

The Beaver Dam Lodge is in the middle of nowhere... but just where we needed it to be from California halfway to Wyoming on our way to Grand Teton. Our hostess, Valarie (if I remember correctly) was very charming and funny. It's an older hotel, but it's only $69/night! There is a fridge, micro and coffee maker which we were glad to have. I don't believe there is much to the town and we really didn't have time to explore. The lodge was quiet and comfortable.
I can only speak for our room, which I can't remember the number, the shower pressure was weak and the tub filled with water by the end of the shower. But again, it's only $69/night and I was still clean after the shower. For the budget traveller this is a good place to stay.

When you are traveling in the desert with an old loved dog, having a wee bit of grass for the animal to wonder on is high on our list. Thank you for allowing that. We have stayed in Las Vegas where the ground was so hot you could not walk your dog anywhere, and where there was grass or mulch they were not allowed. Evidentially the rule makers are cat people.
I was a bit surprised at the $30 charge for the dog. That was not listed (that I noticed) under the highlight of "dog friendly".
While I understand not every dog is house trained, or looked after and most of the problem is the Owner simply not paying attention to any damage the dog does, it was a bit of an insult. Still, I would rebook simply because of the grass.

The staff is great! Friendly and extremely helpful. They go the extra mile for their guests. I also like the history of the area and the golf course in very pretty. Lastly when you go out early the morning you can hear the owls hooting from tree to tree which is so peaceful.
It would be nice to have a pet area a little closer to the rooms instead of walking up the hill to grassy area.

Loved the historic property.
There was a barking dog. Barked until 2am. Tried calling front desk twice. No one on site.

*The one staff member was friendly.
*The Hotel was close to the Highway
The Refrigerator was turned off & I was leaving very early the next day so it took awhile for it to start cooling down.
*There wasn't any facecloth
*There were 2 Bath Towels but they were very thin so due to the thinness of the Towels it was barley enough to dry off with, after taking a shower.
*All lights were unplugged except for one
*The Tub was stained pretty badly and should be replaced.
*Due to the way that the secondary entrance/exit was set-up, the secondary entrance/exit couldn't be used effectively to bring your baggage to your room because it had fencing around it that forces you to go the all the way around the building to get to your vehicle so I had no choice but to park at the opposite end of the building, which was the closest main entrance/exit to my room in order to enter the Hotel to bring in my luggage.
hopefully you get lucky enough to get assigned to a room that is closer to the main entrance/exit or you could use the secondary entrance/exit and look at it optimistically and walk at least half way around the Hotel & chock it up as your daily exercise :)
