Gem of a hotel

We loved this hotel. It was beautiful and rustic in a stunning rural location and the pool was fabulous. Staff were incredible, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely organize your Yala safari through the hotel too. Food at the restaurant also good.

Gute Lage für Kurzaufenthalt um Yala Nationalpark zu besuchen

- freundliche Mitarbeiter - eigener kleiner Garten hinter dem cottage - sehr gemütliches großes Bett mit Moskitonetz - Deckenventilator und Klimaanlage - Naturnah, man hört Abends die Grillen und Morgens die Vögel vom Bett aus

- Pool war trüb und sah nicht einladend aus - Sauberkeit könnte besser sein. Das Waschbecken sah war sehr dreckig. - frische Säfte schmecken nicht - Yala Safari recht teuer im Vergleich mit Konkurrenz (haben es aus Kostengründen dann extern gebucht) - Abends recht dunkel im Zimmer trotz Beleuchtung

- super mooi zwembad -ideale locatie om te ontspannen -leuk dat iedereen zijn eigen hutje heeft -nette kamers -super vriendelijk personeel -lunchpakket op de Safari was zeer goed in orde! -Safari was goed geregeld vanuit het verblijf

Fabulous stay !

Incredible stay and awesome safari organised by the owner !!! Pool was amazing and clean and we were aloud to use it after getting back from the safari and a little later check out . Food was a bit expensive compared to the rest of Sri Lanka but it was nice to not have to leave the hotel and the food was nice . Bathroom was cool and the room was massive . Lovely dog called marco we got to say hi too. As for the safari , our driver nickname (sudu) (omesh sorry for spelling ) was absolutely amazing .. he made out safari experience he knew the park and the animals so well always explaining each animal and facts to us in great English ! .. he found us the leopard about 10 minutes before the end ( we were the only people to see it that morning ) we also the black bear which is really rare and many more animals .. thankyou so much to him for making our stay amazing !

Relax y disfrute

Hotel muy bonito con cabañas estilo africano en una zona tranquila y verde. Habitación amplia con vistas desde terraza (aunque sin acceso debido a mosquitos) y baño con ducha de piedra. Comida espectacular. Nos sirvieron la cena con múltiples platos típicos y grandes cantidades. Imposible de acabárselo todo, por lo que nos lo pusieron para llevar al día siguiente tras el desayuno y check-out. Personal muy amable en todo momento. Ofrecen safari organizado a PN Yala (nosotros no lo contratamos por lo que no podemos valorar).

Debido a las lluvias, había gran cantidad de moscas y otros insectos, aunque no fue un problema para nosotros (la cama dispone de mosquitera).

Was nice and lovely owner and staff

Lovely pool and view. Owner took good time to hear our feedback about some small adjustments we thought would be good. We opted to eat out the second day.

The take away breakfast was good for guest that when on safari however felt it could be slightly improved. Me and my wife had a massage, my wife’s was not bad, mine was not great. He did try hard to make the improvements I asked for. But I felt for the price the standard and environment should of been a bit better.

Our Short Trip

The room are more likely like safari concept which is good .The food are so so nice and tasty. Kudos to the chef who recommended us for the dinner.

A day in the wilderness - totally worth it!

Very scenic and peaceful surrounding. Loved the chalets as it were quite different and unique. Friendly staff and good food. Definitely worth the price.

Quite a few mosquitos and fleas which made our stay a tad uncomfortable. Hope they'll come up with a work around for this as everything else was perfect.

Fabulous hotel

Quiet peaceful property. One of the tastiest rice and curry dishes I’ve had in Sri Lanka! Staff are exceptional . Couldn’t do enough for us! Breakfast was fabulous and so plentiful!

WiFi didn’t extend as far as the rooms.

Highly recommend a stay in Gaga Bees

The location is like a dream. It's small and cosy and has everything to make you more than comfortable. The view overlooking the rice fields is amazing, the little cottage is beautifully decorated and the staff is super friendly. Lahiru, thanks for taking such good care for us. Highly recommend a stay in Gaga Bees!

Nice base for Yala but eat out

Beautiful room with large comfortable bed and an effective mosquito net. Fine base for going to Yala safari. Nice grounds, cute dogs and swimming pool is okay. Staff nice overall. Nice breakfast.

No WiFi in room only common area, food in restaurant very slow and pricey.

Great place to stay if you like nature

The place is very nice, the rooms are big and clean. The bathroom is ok, the floor is full of stones so is hard to walk in there, but it also gives it it's decorative style.

While is in the middle of nature and that makes it very special, there are a lot of frogs which at night make veery loud noises, the first night was ok because we were very tired, but the second we couldn't sleep because of the noise, and believe we are not the kind of people that will complain about this as we are used to nature. But we had a pond just in front of our room that made it quite hard to sleep.

It has nice vibe

There is no wifi in the room, no room service (no phone in the room), massage is the worst (expensive for a massage in Sri Lanka), you cannot pay with card (not sure what they do if guests don’t carry cash), we waited 10 minutes once we arrived for someone to open the gate for us (at one point we thought we will not have a place to stay)… but stuff is nice and friendly, like most of the local people in this country

An unusual small comfortable hotel in a great location for safaris to Yala.

We stayed for two nights as part of our three week holiday. We wanted to go on a private full day safari in Yala National Park and the hotel organised this for us in advance. This is a small business with few staff so dinner meals are cooked to order so be prepared to relax and wait. Meals and drinks are good value although priced in US$.

Chill and Relax!

Our days at Gaga Bees were perfect ! :) Lahiru and the other guys were really nice and always did their best and were there for any questions and need. We also played a match of carrom with them. :) Everything was really relaxing. They also arranged the safari. We did the safari with Sarat ( I think that was his name). He as well was really nice and we had a great time. He gave us some hoppers and bananas. The food at was delicious and looked great. Thank you for a good time! 🙏

Amazing place! highly recommend.

This place is amazing. My favourite place in Sri Lanka so far. Beautiful pool surrounded by nature and a nice comfortable and stylish chalet. The staff were incredibly nice and the food was really nice. They arranged my safari for the next day and gave me breakfast to take with me at 5am. The manager also arranged my next hotel and taxi there. You should visit this place!

Such a quiet peaceful place, you totally enjoy all the nature around in a comfortable and modern bungalow. Everything is made with soul and even better than the photos. New bedding and towels. There is also an electric boiler.

unique location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to go tuk tuk for shopping or dinner. closeness to nature, singing birds, croaking of frogs, all this makes the rest complete. the service is very friendly and helpful. They helped us organize a safari at a great price. I also recommend the hotel massage offer, one of the most pleasant experiences in this category in Sri Lanka.

Good Value for a Yala Safari

Great Location, Super helpful team (Lahiru), Great Host family, the pool is good too.

Mosquitos were bit excessive in the dining and common areas, some fans, added protection will help. Bicycles to explore surroundings will be good.

The best place to stay in to experience the true Sri Lankan warmth and happiness.

We will NEVER forget the family owning and living in Gaga Bees Yala. They made our stay simply incredible. They were all super nice, dedicated and smiling. We felt perfectly taken care and comfortable there. The garden, swimming pool, living room, chalet, food and atmosphere are one of a kind. We want to thank them all again for this warm experience and we would recommend anyone to stay there forever if possible!

that it is located at a very quiet space next to a paddy field, we see magpies, peacocks, cattle, squirrels and cat/dogs from our balcony porch everyday! a beautiful pool with deck chairs, delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners from the boutique hotel’s inhouse restaurant.

Enjoyable stay

Authentic huts, surrounded by beautiful nature. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Hotel sorted very good price for the safari with a takeaway breakfast. They also arranged us an onward taxi, again, for a very good price. Delicious food - especially the curry! Nice get away from the hustle and bustle. Be prepared for the occasional frog in the bathroom, that added to the fun for us! Again, staff were very kind, they made our stay enjoyable. Thankyou!

Not recommend for any guest

The staff were kind and helpful.

The rooms were not clean , no supplies in the bathrooms , the bathrooms were full of frogs and different types of insects , not recommend for children at all , we have to leave next morning due to all these reasons since we all had a sleepless night. It was very difficult to contact the host to explain our situation and he did not even listen and charge us for 35% for cancelation apart from the actual bill which is very unfair. Please consider our comments it is not like the photos in website , totally different place , Dog poo every where on the ground , very smelly and untidy. Very rude and money minded host. The rooms are very old need good renovation.
