Beautiful location and great staff but hotel needs some TLC.

Staff were amazing! The location was great and plenty of parking! The food was great! Couldn’t fault it!

There were rips in the carpet in our room. There was some sort of insects/worm in the tap for the bath that came out when I ran the water for a bath on my last night. This then put me off even using the bath. The smaller magnifying mirror in the bathroom was hanging off the wall. There was a broken tile also in the bathroom. The noise of children running up and down the hall late in the evening rapping doors and shouting. The ladies changing room at the pool was also very run down. Lockers broken etc.

Not a four star hotel, in need of a refurb.

Staff really friendly, pool a good size for proper swimming.

Very tired & dated, definitely not 4 star. Bed extremely uncomfortable & small. Bath & shower curtain grubby. Poor selection for breakfast. Room key reader out of battery, had to be let in with backup key. I come to Monaghan often & usually stay elsewhere, tried Hillgrove for a change & very disappointed.

Made to feel really welcome by the staff who are outstanding, nice food and comfortable bedroom.

food is a disappointment but the hotel and leisure facilities were great

The food in the pk restaurant was very disappointing, for our main course we ordered a margarita pizza and the chicken tenders , the sauce on the base of the pizza was disgusting it definitely was the wrong type of sauce used , the batter on the chicken tenders was really overpowering with spice which made them uneatable , I did explain how bad the food was to our server and she agreed with me that the tenders were really bad and I definitely wasn’t the first person to complain about them that evening but yet she never gave me any opportunity to change it for another main course and I was still charged in full for a meal that they knew that wasn’t up to scratch

I had a nice break, it was a very relaxing hotel

Cocktails were lovely and staff were all really helpful and friendly The food in the bar was top class Very enjoyable Relaxed atmosphere the in bar Barry the hotel manager was very welcoming & gave great food menu recommendations

The outdoor hot tub was out of use & that was a disappointment. It would have been good to have been informed of this in advance as this was one of the main attractions and reasons why I booked the hotel. I was really looking forward to using outdoor hot rub and receptionist at pool told us it was out of order for two more weeks. If I had of known that in advance of my stay I would have postponed my stay until another time

Location , friendliness of staff, absolutely delicious dinner. Very comfortable bed, pillows , spacious rooms, quality bathroom products and nice fluffy towels. Delicious breakfast with vast choice and great service. Nice touch of tea in China pot.

Small choice of spirit eg. only Smirnoff- no Absolut, Finlandia, Ketel One, Ciroc, Lobby lacked ‘atmosphere’ - candles, some flowers on tables . Bath dated and shower in Rm 306 poor. Unavailability of ice bucket or wine cooler to take to room .

Perfect nights stay to relax.

Beautiful hotel to stay in. Staff were incredibly friendly throughout the hotel. Breakfast was lovely with great range of choices. Rooms were very clean and spacious with great views. The pool facilities were exceptional. The out door hot tub was the best, with saunas and steam rooms and also indoor hot tub, I would highly recommend. Pool area is great for families. Pk bar and Bistro food was amazing, the staff were so friendly an they make the best cocktails. Was a great stay and will be back again soon!

Staff v friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast was good.

The rooms were v standard and the hotel overall could do with a facelight. It's expensive compared to the quality of the bedrooms which were v average. No face cloths, shower cap or moisturiser in the bathroom. V basic.

Complete Disaster. Cannot send photos. Manager said it was against the law to send pictures of child

200 kids running around. Just like a nursery. Complained about noise, children knocking on my door, throwing ice cubes all over the floor. (I am disabled). The staff could not control the children. No Senior staff on at night. Parents when found just drinking, and could not give a dam. Complete disaster. Saw the Manager the next day full of apologies. Said it was a child friendly hotel. Breakfast was a disaster, kids lying all over the floor. Never will I ever go to this hotel again

We had an enjoyable stay for one night at the hotel and the food was excellent.

Food in PK Bar was excellent and the breakfast was very good too :)

There were no face cloths in our room and only shower gel/hair wash in the shower - I like the little bottles of conditioner, moisturiser, etc. you get as well in the bathroom. We were disappointed that only the swimming pool was open and that the steam room, jacuzzi etc. wasn't :(
