Prachtige, rustige plek in de natuur als uitvalsbasis voor backwaters

Prachtige, rustige plek in de natuur als uitvalsbasis om de Alleppey backwaters te bezoeken. De accommodatie en het terrein is schitterend. Heerlijk ontbijt. We boekten een boottour via de accommodatie. Eigenaar zeer vriendelijk, meedenkend, behulpzaam en grappig :)

A stunning heritage house with great natural surroundings.

Location and the heritage part of the building. The owner is quite helpful and courteous.

Providing lunch facilities at an added cost would be a great addition.

Best accommodation and hosts we had

The hosts are incredible and sat with us often talking to us about India and the area. The rooms, grounds and buildings are beautiful and really different. We sat one afternoon in a hammock in the garden. The breakfast was incredible do not miss it! It was exceptionally tasty home cooked food! This was the best place we stayed in India.

Amazing experience

The property is really amazing, can actually spend time and relax at the property itself. The host is very courteous and the place offers a very tasty and homely breakfast. The property also offers an amazing view of the sunset as well. I would definetely recommend this place.

Une petite pépite avec un potentiel énorme

Le propriétaire est extrêmement bienveillant et sympathique. Il s’est mis en 4 pour démêler nos problèmes de réservation de bus avec KSRTC( problème résolu ) . Il nous a organisé une sortie de 4 h en bateau privé pour le lever du soleil sur les Backwaters 👍 Si les chambres sont libres , (,(elles sont en Rdch ) choisissez celles qui sont dans la maison la plus ancienne, magnifique, avec une architecture en bois de type kéralais . Une des maisons est en cours d’agrandissement, mais les travaux n’ont pas gêné .. , Un endroit magnifique au milieu de la verdure , certes le coq chante à 5 h du matin 😀, mais nous sommes à la campagne….Choix de petit déjeuner keralais ou classique. Une belle adresse .

Perfect homestay Alleppey

The owner, George, was a phenomenal host. He and his team were incredibly friendly, helpful with any queries and very accommodating. The homestay is in a perfect location with tuktuk's driving past the property regularly to be able take you into town. The breakfast offered was either authentic for the region with alternative being adequate for those not wanting a typical Indian breakfast. There was work going on while we were staying but this did not cause us any inconvenience and it was a pleasure to hear George's vision for the future of the property and his aims to be carbon neutral for 2030! He advised us on things to do during our stay which we partook in all. A stand out excursion for us was the sunrise boat trip through the backwaters and would encourage all future guests to book this through George as you will not be disappointed.

Great heritage home stay to experience tranquility of Alleppey.

Great property to have a home stay experience in Alleppey. The territory of the property (garden) is very beautiful. Its also very peaceful there. The room had great bed, AC and a fan- very comfortable! Would stay there again.

The breakfast had only 2 continental options- toast with butter and jam, and omelet. I would suggest adding something else (muesli for example)

Awesome stay, would highly recommend!

Hospitality was excellent. To add more, the lush green fields around was a delight to the eyes.

The locality is slightly far from the city centre making it difficult to access public transportation.

It was a superb experience. The room was clean, the decor was very unique and was a heritage place. The host was very friendly and caring. The food and hospitality was great. We were greeted with a warmth and food was served fresh and authentic cuisine.

The best💫

The property itself was unique because of its authenticity of being 163 years old. The owner of the property and their family made it feel like home there. The morning authentic home made breakfast they provided was really very tasty. To be honest, I stayed in 5star and very good hotels. But this stay was the most pleasent and pleasing and the best of all . No one would want to miss such pleasent stay. Absolutely loved every bit of it❤️

The surroundings of the homestay is beautiful and scenic. It is worthwhile to spend some time in the backyard of this homestay to feel the nature. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were comfortable.

Hidden Gem

It’s definitely a heritage home, the wooden architecture is absolutely stunning! The area is really windy and really peaceful to just sit back and relax to the sound of the trees moving and birds chirping. Truly a hidden gem. Host/Manager was kind enough to order a tuktuk/ auto for us to go into town and book massages and boat rides for us. The massage was really good, so definitely go with the hosts’ recommendation! We booked the King Suite which came with a balcony/veranda which had a swing, really nice touch to the unit but also has a couple of hammocks if you’d like a change as well or if your unit doesn’t come with a swing. Not having seen antique lamps or switches or even door locks for so long, this was something my partner and I loved, besides the ultimate privacy.

When I say hidden gem, it definitely is absolutely hidden. Not a single auto/tuktuk driver that we got from the city knew of this place and we had to guide them right to the doorstep. Getting an Uber driver is close to impossible because it’s not within Uber radar, so we couldn’t really book an Uber to go out or even to our next destination. You’ll need to either rely on the host to get you an auto or you could stand at the entrance and wait for bit for an auto driver to pass by(we did once, but was a 10minutes wait). No way you’d be able to walk to the city or nearest restaurant as it’s all really far away and the roads are quite dark at night, so you do need to make sure you have transportation secured. Besides that, you can’t quite sit out on the veranda pass sunset as there’ll be quite a lot of mosquitoes or light bugs after you turn the lights on, so if you intend to sit outside for long, it’ll need to be when the sun is still up. The breakfast isn’t a huge spread, but the host is extremely kind to prepare what we would want to have, and it definitely felt like home cooked food that we missed having!

This place is very gorgeous. The garden is such a perfect place to relax in the hammock with views across the field. Incredibly peaceful. The room itself was quite small considering the price but was clean & tidy & offers a kettle. Breakfast was delicious & the staff were very kind & helpful whenever they could be.

It is a little out of town so you will have to get a tuktuk otherwise it's a dark walk home..! But if you like the peace & quiet to be out the noise of Allepey then this is absolutely perfect!

everything was perfect. very close to Alleppey but in a quiet place, surrounded by nice scenic views in country side. the owner is very nice, and everybody at the home is nice and sweet. easy to reach the city, with tuk tuk they can call for you. super easy and nice. thank you

I'm not recommend this hotel

Go for Kerala breakfast(very simple but just okaysh). Continental was pathetic.

Wi-fi is teribbly slow it's 2G(!!!???) Room was not cleaned and The words of the staff(older guy) are not trustworthy

Lovely place

Had a lovely 2 night stay. The host was helpful and gave advice if needed. The building was lovely and very well cared for.

It was difficult to get used to the very dark room. Would suggest requesting a room facing the garden.
