A little about the Beach Cottage. It is the original home on the property and sits independent on a large double lot next to the 3/1 Beach House. Both are private and are in a excellent location being 60 Steps from the beach (150 feet ). It is very private and unique because of the location and all of the landscaping. We purchased the house several years ago from a local artist who had it for 32 years and have renovated it back to a house from an art studio the prior owner made it into. It has all been upgraded to to the quality of a new home but we restored all of the cypress and terrazzo to keep it's Old Florida Beach House charm. There is no other home this cool or romantic to rent on the Key it looks like it came straight off a HGTV episode! It is a rare find on the key because of it's quite location in a residential neighborhood as well as its 2 lots give you lots of open area with botanical gardens making you feel like your in you own private beach compound. It is located 1/2 mile from the state park and 3/4 of a mile from the restaurants, bars with live entertainment and shops.
The BEST PART is you will find yourself a "stone's throw" (60 Steps or 150 ft) from a wide private beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
Since this is our family vacation home you will find it's like staying at a friend’s home not a hotel. It is furnished like a home and you will find everything you will need with the exception of a beach towel and your clothes. This quaint beach house is within easy walking distance to a Tiki
bar on the bay, fine dining and casual restaurants as well as a
convenience store and other shopping and boardwalk. We have simply
tried to think of everything you would want, or need, to make your
vacation a very special experience. We are literally 150 feet from
one of the most beautiful beaches that Florida has to offer, as well
as being only 600 feet from Lemon Bay. Bring your boat, use one of
the nearby ramps, rent a dock or moor on the bay. You will have
direct access to the Gulf of Mexico within minutes. This is a
renowned fished and boating area. You can surf cast off the beach
from anywhere on the island, or charter boats for tarpon, flounder,
grouper, mackerel or redfish.
It doesn't get any better than this!

This Beach cottage has a great location a few steps to the beach, shops and restaurants are very close by, I recommend the White Elephant a fun place with good music, drinks and food. The cottage was perfect for two people, very clean, the kitchen has everything you need. If you are looking to go to Manasota Key I highly recommend this cottage.

We had a lovely stay over New Years. The location is perfect to the beach and the beach itself was lovely. We walked to the state park, went shark teeth hunting, and walked to the local restaurants. The location is very relaxing and peaceful. We appreciate being able to bring our fur babies too, as they are part of our family. Next time we will bring our bikes now knowing how bike friendly Manasota Key is! The house had perfect accommodations for a family of 3 and the shed with nice quality beach chairs, toys, surf boards, etc. was a welcomed treat!

The property was beautiful! Even closer to the beach than i was expecting. Standing in the driveway you can see the ocean. The beach is fantastic, clean and barely anyone there. The key has amazing restaurants and lots of boat/kayak rentals, plus a great gift shop.
The property itself exceeded expectations. It was extremely clean, there wasn't a single bug spotted inside our entire stay. The kitchen is well equipt with dishes, as well as kitchen basics (coffee, salt, pepper, etc). There were plenty of extra sheets, towels and blankets. All the furniture was comfortable and not outdated like I saw in another review. We greatly appreciated the old florida charm.
Scott was an amazing host! He was very courteous, gave great directions and was very responsive with any questions we had.
We came for our honeymoon and stayed 6 days. We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the 1/1 bungalow, which is all we needed. Scott, the host came by the morning after we got there and he was super friendly and helpful! He even invited us in to show us the big house, which we will be booking next time when we bring grandkids down! Beatific area, neighborhood, and very shirt walk to quite beach where we found an abundance of shark teeth and shells!

My husband and I spent a week at this cottage for our anniversary. Check in was easy and it was very clean and amply stocked with everything we needed for the week. Area is quiet and peaceful and we truly felt like we were in paradise. The owner was very nice and gracious and checked in with us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend this property and it’s adjoining unit. We will most definitely be returning. Thank you Scott for making our anniversary week such and wonderful and memorable experience!

When we arrived we immediately noticed the smaller cottage we rented was not clean. The unit was left opened and key and lockbox were broken. Coffee grounds left in coffeemaker, floors were dirty, kitchen counter not wiped down, silverware not washed thoroughly. The couch that was to be used was old and when you pulled out the sleeper bed it was a old stained mattress full of sand and shells. It was not useable. The blinds in the bedroom are not private and you can see right in the room from the house right next door. I called owner and advised the unit was left opened key was broken and reported the dirtiness and that we could not stay in the unit and we would have to make other arrangements for a place to stay. He offered to bring a blow up mattress but sleeping on the floor was not an option since the floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned for awhile and as much money paid who wants to sleep on the floor on a blow up mattress. The unit does have an old cottage feel but a bit dingy which would be fine if it was cleaner and you like that vibe. . He did ask me the next day to advise him of the issues so he could discuss with his cleaning lady. I responded with the issues and asked if he could refund me for some of the stay. He did not respond after that. The large house seems to be the good reviews on this site. The small unit is the one that seems to get the bad reviews and most reviews I read were accurate of the smaller unit. This could be a decent place if the furniture was clean, unit was cleaner and a little brighter.

This cottage was perfect for our 4 night stay. Very close beach access; plenty of beach gear to use. Quiet, safe side street. Cottage had air conditioning that cooled the place quickly. The only negative we have is that the furniture is dated; couch was very uncomfortable to sit on. That would not stop us from staying there again, however.

What a fantastic little place. Everything you need, umbrella, chairs, cooler, beach towels... bring your suit and take a few steps to the sand and shore. Shark's teeth are just waiting to be found. This little house was comfortable, clean and very reasonable for a perfect much needed vacation. Thank You Scott for everything!

The furnishings in the house could be updated, but they are clean and serviceable. The outdoor spaces and landscaping was amazing. The owners provide space to relax and cook outdoors while enjoying a tropical oasis.

The sunsets were spectacular! Manasota Key is on the Gulf Coast. Lots of Sea Turtle nests. Out little cottage was not on the beach but a short walk. Beach was mostly empty as this was the off season (but hot). We had some issues we discussed with the owner but will not put here. Very quiet neighborhood. Plenty of places to eat whether on the Key or mainland. We landed at Ft Myers although Punta Gorda is closer. Centrally located to Everglades (tours of Mangroves) and Sarasota, Venice. Suggest LightHouse Cafe, Sanibel Island, Sharkeys (Venice), KeKe's for breakfast (like First Watch but better).

This was the perfect casual getaway for our anniversary. Bungalow had everything we needed including beach chairs, towels, umbrella and a cooler. The beach was private and literally steps away. The water is gorgeous hues of aqua and there are shells everywhere. The full kitchen enabled us to cook meals in, although several good restaurants are close by. Unit was clean and parking was close to unit. Our host Scott was very communicative and accommodating even when we had a change to our reservation.

Overall it was a good experience. House was clean and had everything as advertised. Easy access to restaurants and other amenities. The only problem was beach access. We were not sure where our "private" beach was as most of it was posted with no trespassing signs. Also cable TV was only in the front area, not in the bedroom.

We enjoyed our 3 nights so much! Cottage was very nice and clean. 2 giant TVs and all you need for a beach getaway. VRBO charged us for 3 guests and there was only us 2. Need a refund of $50 please!! Scott okayed it. Said it should come from you. Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this small cosy cottage. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen ( but no wine glasses…Scott says they are coming). Best parts: very quiet neighborhood , a two minute walk to the beach and wonderful sunsets !
