We had a wonderful time at the Asheville Hillside Hideaway! The owners were super helpful with the everything including the check-in instructions. Everything was very easy when we arrived at the house. It was immaculate and the owners had anticipated whatever we might need in our home away from home! The home is beautiful, a wonderful place to stay with the deck to enjoy the wonderful weather and the soothing view. We also enjoyed all the birds supported by many feeders. The home is very conveniently located to downtown Asheville and many excellent restaurants. My daughter and her friend joined us for 3 days while we were there. They loved the house and location! This is an exceptional place to stay in the Asheville area.

I want to first acknowledge the host Jim for his amazing Hospitality and quick response for any and all of my questions. The home looks better in person and had everything a family of 5 needed. my wife really enjoyed the screened patio and the kids loved the hot tub. I personal loved how the house felt secluded despite being in a housing neighborhood and being close downtown Asheville.

Fabulous VRBO rental in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. Best stocked rental ever-two robes in every room with great towels, amazing kitchen with everything you need to cook an amazing meal, and so much more. Very comfortable beds, great porches with views, bird feeders attracting colorful goldfinches and hummingbirds, great gas grill for cooking out, and very friendly helpful hosts. We would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone and will be sure to return ourselves.

This place is just top notch. The home is located in a beautiful setting within the mountains and is located close to downtown Asheville, The Blue Ridge Parkway, local hiking, etc. The detail that Jim and Barabara have put into making this a great place to stay, including the organization, cleanliness, art work, bird feeders, games, tv setup, hot tub, hammocks, etc. is really beyond words. There is a screened in porch that provides beautiful mountain views, and large windows provide great nature viewing from the inside of the house. Jim and Barbara were also very helpful with their local recommendations. Best Vrbo we have ever stayed in, hands down!

All senior citizens, the property was very comfortable for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the screened porch and meals at Rhubarb, Cúrate and bbq. Our one night cooking was produce from the farmers' market and fresh fish on the grill. This kitchen had all the tools for a family who likes to cook and the host accommodates extra needs. I really recommend this site for adult getaways.

We would 1000% stay here again if we head to the Asheville area. We were close to everything in town/The Biltmore yet far enough out to feel a real part of nature. We loved watching the birds feed off the feeders and the little squirrels/chipmunks grabbing the leftovers on the ground that the Cardinal would drop. My dad enjoyed his coffee every morning from the screened in porch and I my cup of tea in peace and quiet. You feel like you are perched up in the trees with the loveliest views.
The hosts have seriously thought of EVERYTHING you could need when staying away from home. They stocked everything from welcome adult beverages cold in the fridge to coffee to condiments to storage baggies to shampoo to rain ponchos and a cooler in the closet! This is the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in. The beds are super comfy too!
We have already recommended it to family in Charlotte when they go visit my cousin who lives in Asheville it was that good.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property! The home had everything we needed and so much more - It is by far the best stocked rental I have ever stayed in. The surrounding property is just gorgeous, and we loved getting to watch the birds every morning, including the neighborhood turkeys! Would happily stay here again on my next visit to Asheville.

Although we enjoyed our activities in the city the best part of our trip was relaxing, taking in the mountain views, and watching the birds play. We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely property hosted by Jim and Barbara, who were exceedingly kind and helpful but also respectful of our time. From the point of booking to the end of our stay, they provided excellent communication about the home, the area, and, well, anything you could think of! This is truly the best VRBO experience our family of four has ever had. The property was exceedingly clean and offered gorgeous views! Watching the birds at their feeders was a delight at breakfast and throughout the day. The swings on the porch were heavenly to lounge in. Beds were comfy! Trips to downtown were convenient, and there were many hiking trails and national and state parks nearby. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, and we appreciated all the small touches that made this more of a home away from home than a vacation rental. Jim and Barbara have thought of everything! This house was an amazing experience—from the motion lighting at your feet to the well-stocked kitchen to the “tushy toilets”!!! The view of the surrounding mountains is perfect—sunrise and sunset. Jim and Barbara are excellent hosts with great recommendations and an open line of communication from start to finish.

Traveled for a girls trip and stayed for 3 nights. This is by far the best VRBO we have stayed at in our travel history. Jim and Barbara have thought of everything! We were greeted on arrival and communication with the owner was clear. Very comfortable and clean. So very organized . In a convenient location and so many helpful items. It’s like never leaving home. Environmentally friendly and bidets in all bathrooms! We did enjoy the hot tub in the evenings in the cool December air. It was perfect. Many laughs among friends. Definitely a place to return to in the future. Do not hesitate to book this property!

The house overlooked the quiet valley that was colored with fall foliage at the time of our stay. Even the drive up was beautiful into this quiet neighborhood-caution driving at night as there are some sharp turns! The house was extremely well kept with new enough features to give us some Christmas present ideas for how to make a home more homey. The hosts were friendly and helpful during the process of booking, check in, check out and the entirety of our trip- the perfect dose of the neighbor you’ve always wished you had! I highly recommend this house to anyone new to visiting the Asheville area. This is a one of a kind experience that other bookings will not provide!

We had a wonderful long weekend in Asheville. The hosts had outstanding communication, with a guide book that explained everything we could possibly need to know. The house is beautiful, as were the views, the leaves, and all the little touches that were so thoughtful. Can't wait to come again!

We chose to spend the week here for our family vacation in Asheville and could not have been more pleased. Jim and Barbara have truly gone above and beyond to make this house the most comfortable and relaxing vacation spot. I really appreciated the online guidebook they created, which had all of the basic details like check-in/check-out, using the garage, etc., but also suggestions for restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, groceries, and things to do in the area.
The house itself was so cozy, clean, and well organized, with ample space for all four of us. We loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, spices, coffee, tea and small carafes of milk. Jim and Barbara have also taken a lot of care to include extra details that most rental properties don't, like board and card games, extra newspaper for wet hiking shoes, umbrellas, rain jackets, small backpacks and folding chairs. The bird feeders were so fun to watch in the morning, and the hot tub was the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day with beautiful mountain views. Lastly, the location is so convenient to downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I cannot say enough nice things about this property; it truly is a gem in Asheville, and I would absolutely stay here again!

Jim and Barbara, the owners, are wonderful hosts. They have thought of everything which makes staying here so easy. The house is beautiful and I absolutely love watching the birds all day.... and I am not a birder. but with the feeders so close to the windows and basically hanging in the woods, makes for a very relaxing time. We had friends join us in the house at the last minute for one night and Jim and Barbara were very welcoming of them. We would stay again in a heartbeat and who knows as we continue our search for a retirement place we just might. Thanks!

What a wonderful home! We had such a wonderful experience, it truly felt like it was home away from home. We met Jim the first day as he wanted to make sure everything was perfect, and it was!!! There wasn’t anything they didn’t think of, and we so enjoyed our stay!! For sure going back!!!!! This was a 10 plus plus ❤️

We had a couple’s weekend for my hubby’s 40th. The house is in a quaint neighborhood off a main road, easy to find. Another couple was able to charge their car with was a major plus for the house to have a EV charging! Everything is super organized and if you forgot something, they probably have it. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. The host lives next door and is great with communicating. My only issue was the steepness of the road/driveway, but were from FL so I’m just not used to it. There’s no street parking so we parked one in the garage (two car garage) and the other in the driveway. Our friends said they’ll definitely be booking here as well in the future! Loved staying here!

We met Jim for a quick hello when we arrived, which was nice to be able to be greeted and welcomed. Everything was so organized and thought out. He even had guest accounts on the smart TVs, so you didn’t have to log into and out of your accounts.. the list is very long for all that was thought out, including camp chairs to borrow to watch sunsets from the parkway, bug spray, back packs and hiking sticks one could borrow, a portable speaker.. I felt we were kindred spirits of a similar tribe. The house was so peaceful with the birds and the screened in porch. There’s a grocery store at the bottom of the hill, and Asheville is just 15 min away, and the blue ridge parkway is around the corner. I just loved our time there, I couldn’t give them enough praise and gratitude if I tried.

From all of our beach and mountain vacation rentals over the years, this was by far our favorite of all! Everything about the home exceeded our expectations...the cleanliness, the private and peaceful location, and the many wonderful amenities. The home was centrally located and about 10 minutes from everything. Jim and Barbara are gracious hosts and have thought of everything you could possibly want and need during your stay! The electronic guide was also wonderful. We loved watching the variety of birds on the feeders, relaxing in the hanging deck chairs, and seeing a wild turkey in the yard! We only wish we had more days there to be able to take full advantage of all the amenities available during our stay. Do not hesitate to stay in this lovely home!

We were in Asheville for a girls weekend and this house was perfect for our needs! Great location: Downtown, the Biltmore, and the Blue Ridge Parkway were all within a 10 minute drive. The porch overlooking the hills below was our favorite part of the house where we enjoyed our morning coffee and late night s’mores. Jim and Barbara have added so many extra touches not often found in rental properties such as a s’mores bar, games (yard and board), umbrellas, newspaper for wet shoes, water bottles to borrow for hiking, etc. They also have a fully stocked kitchen in terms of cooking supplies, coffee filters, foil, tupperware, etc, making it so much easier to cook a few meals at the house without bringing or buying all of the supplies you take for granted at home! Overall, we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this property!

We stayed a week at Jim and Barbara's property, which felt like it was floating in the forest canopy, yet was only minutes from Asheville. Every detail that could be thought of was taken care of by our hosts, from kitchen utensils to games and puzzles, guides to how to use the TV's, hot tub, etc., along with hints for fun things to do while in Asheville and the surrounding mountains. Our hosts embraced technology with QR codes that provided information, solar power and EV charging, but still were "old school" with printed guidebooks and instructions. My wife and I, along with our adult children and their partners all agreed, that this was far and away the best vacation rental we have ever had.

This property is better than expected, with a gorgeous view that makes you feel like you are out in the mountains, as well as tons of wildlife. Yet, you are so close to downtown and other things. Perfect vacation destination for a family. The house is beautiful from top to bottom and has all of the amenities you could want, plus lots of little extras that make it special. Could not have been nicer! Highlight was the bird-feeders that attracted all sorts of birds that we learned to identify. Jim carefully refilled them every day and we felt like we were in a bird sanctuary. Highest recommendation!!

This home has everything possible you need for your stay and was very clean. The only thing I would say is that I wish I had known the property owner lived next door. Although it might be helpful to some, personally it felt a little intrusive.
