A truly wonderful nights stay.

Driving up to the hotel we knew we were in for a wonderful stay driving through the trees to an idyllic setting. Our room looked out on the gardens and the river to the right and from the roll top copper bath ( though bath is not the right word as it was HUGE)😃you looked out on the that very view…gardens,woods and river…bliss. Staff were so so friendly and attentive in every way. Food was beautiful dinner and breakfast. Just a wonderful experience for us both on our 30th wedding anniversary a stay we will always remember with a smile.

Relaxing luxury holiday.

Comfortable beds, lovely rooms and wonderful staff. Dinner was fabulous-from the bar and appetiser through to petit fours, it was a 5 star experience. The host who greeted us each evening was very professional, amiable and attentive.

Nothing-although our stay (4 nights) was a bit long given the dearth of things to do in a cold and very snowy winter in Thurso, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the accommodation.

Built up to be effortless luxury and charged for it but for me, it wasn’t achieved.

Location was lovely. Manager and his assistant were lovely.

Beautiful bathroom but the outside of the bath wasn’t clean. Outside edges on shower was unclean. I am aware of the term “shabby chic” but for the price I would of expected more attention to detail.

Ausgezeichnet! Es gibt nichts zu meckern und ich bin sehr picky was Unterkünfte angeht.

Man hätte allenfalls die Preisgestaltung bzgl Frühstück (kostet extra) etwas transparenter gestalten können, aber dieses war dann preislich auch total in Ordnung, also eigentlich will ich auch hierüber nicht meckern. Es war super :)

Forss Hotel- or not

The main hotel was nice Breakfast -although at a price. Pleasant gardens,and impressive body of water flowing through

Having parked, on arrival, in car park in the woods, unloaded our luggage of 2 cases and several additional bags, and presented to reception, we were informed that our accommodation was back in same woods,involving 2 lots of spiral stairs.(No offer of assistance with bags,and in the evening returning to our accommodation in the dark,some of the lighting wasn't working) Had we known what type of accommodation we were allocated , we would either have tried to change it , or cancel altogether.The e-mail booking simply described a standard double room in the hotel. Overall,a disappointing experience,especially taking into account the cost.

Everything. The staff was awesome. The nature around is beautiful. The whole building is beautiful and the interior was amazing. We felt like we were in a whole different world. Plus we got upgraded for free as we arrived. Next time in Thurso we will be staying here again. 🧡

Lovely hotel hidden away in a small forest

Lovely semi detached room on ground floor with easy access. Restaurant and bar were staffed by superb people. Large room.

Swarm of flys on departure, but that is mother nature's fault, not the hotel.

A charming and interesting place to stay but a bit overpriced

Lovely walks around the property, particularly along the river, and the paths are very well maintained. A great deal of old world charm in both the main house and cottages

The flies around the river were numerous and annoy. We were also unimpressed by cleaners noisily working in the room above us at 8am

Beautiful building and amazing food

we only stayed a night so we couldn’t explore the surrounding which look really beautiful. The property is very beautiful, and the stuff is friendly and welcoming. Also the food both for dinner and breakfast was delicious.

our superior room wasn’t great for the money we paid, the bathroom had a weird smell and it looked in need of renovation. although the bath was actually super nice.

A lovely, quiet stop on the NC500 route - highly recommend!

Very friendly staff, lovely clean & comfortable room, and an amazing en-suite! Beautiful grounds to walk around and very welcoming to our dog!

This was a great stop over stay before getting on a fiery in Scrabster. The restaurant was great and I have very much enjoyed the grounds.

Comfirtable stay but the hotel is in need of some TLC

Friendly helpful staff Very comfortable bed with nice pillows Fluffy towels

Didn’t have the wow factor as we arrived - hosepipe left tangled with bucket and cloth in car park. scruffy looking log pile area Decorated as an old type hunting lodge with lots of stuffed animals Stair carpet threadbare in places / coffee table in our room covered in hot cup blooms

Fantastic location, 5 star experience!!

This place is absolutely stunning! From your welcome , to your room, it's furnishings and fittings, the roll top bath was amazing!!! The staff are proffessiknal and run like a well oiled machine! Nothing was too much trouble! Enjoyed the full breakfast and evening meal experience.....5 Star culinary experience! Would highly reccomend!

There were no negativel elements to our stay.......just wonderful!🥰

Amazing!

Forss House was an amazing place to stay in every respect. the property is fantastic and full of charm, the food was excellent, the staff were so kind and it was very reasonably priced.

It was comfortable and in a lovely setting. A good place to stay if you are doing the NC500

it was comfortable and in a good location

we appreciate that now is a difficult time for the hospitality business but everything revolved round what worked for staff eg We came down the first day for breakfast and were told off for sitting at a table laid for dinner. We had to sit at tables with a check cloth. We noticed others did this too. A polite notice as you entered the dining room might have been better. There were other things at dinner too which meant no orders were taken after 7.45pm.
