About this house rental
Beautiful fully renovated historic downtown home originally built in 1897. Features open kitchen concept with french doors leading to deck overlooking a private HEATED swimming pool reaching a 10 foot depth. Additional chaise lounge chairs poolside for sunbathing. Plenty of room for dining outdoors on the deck and 2 patios. Deck features an outdoor dining table and gas grill. Backyard patio has seating and table in the shade next to the pool. Brick patio has seating and fire pit for evenings around the fire. Private, lush backyard has a pool house with shower and toilet for convenience. Driveway and side yard can accommodate 3-5 cars and there is additional parking just 30 feet away curbside.
Second floor master suite has king bed and its own bathroom with two person soaker tub with detachable sprayer. Two additional second floor queen bedrooms. Spacious walk-in shower with marble bench on second floor. First floor "in-law" bedroom has 1 king bed. First floor bathroom is just steps from in-law room, off the kitchen. The home is permitted for a stay of 12 guests. We have four beds (two kings, two queens) along with two blow up beds, a pack and play crib.
Large Kitchen fully equipped for large family food prep featuring wall oven and microwave, dishwasher, 5 burner cooktop, and french door top-loading refrigerator. Guests are welcome to pick the edible landscaping: fresh herbs-winter savory, thyme, sage, and chives are available all summer to add to recipes.
We provide all linens and towels (beach and bathroom), beach chairs & umbrellas. Toiletries and paper products also provided. Plenty of games and puzzles for family and friends to spend time together. Large screen Smart TV with internet options (Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Netflix and more), Nintendo WiiU with assorted games.
Home is located on the main street in South Haven, walk or bike one mile distance to beach, marina, 3/4 mile to shops, farmer's market and restaurants. Walk, jog or bike the Kal-Haven Trail or launch a kayak in the Black River within half mile!

We had a great time. The house was perfect and the one problem we had Fatima immediately responded and fixed it. The only suprise was there is only one shower in the house. The listing mentioned it but i must have missed it. There is another shower in the pool house that the little kids ended up using. One bathroom inside did have a huge shower and the other full bath only had a tub. But it was all great. The pool was the main attraction and totally worth it. We had the best time.

This was a great place for our family of 5. The house was clean and comfortable, perfect size for our family. The pool was great and the backyard space was excellent. The location is close to the interstate but also easily accessible to downtown South Haven. Fatima is very responsive and made many great suggestions and recommendations. We had a great week!

This house was perfect for our family. I’m use to staying on the beach but having a pool and the beach was perfect. Having older kids they loved staying at the pool and hanging out plus at night we could swim. The pool was perfect temperature. The house had everything we wanted. It was only a half a mile to town so we rode bikes a lot. Loved all the shops and restaurants. We rode ATVs one day a must only 5 miles away. We will definitely come back. Also Fatima was very helpful and attentive whenever needed. Love South Haven❤️

Great Stay!
Fatima was great through the whole process. We had actually booked another of her properties which sold, so she upgraded us to this property - which was fantastic. It had all the things we needed from the kitchen down to the beach chairs/towels! The house and pool were clean and lovely! House is close to the highway and to downtown South Haven. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Excellent Family Friendly
The pictures don’t do it justice. This house is a great layout, nice upgrades, and a fabulous location. The host was very attentive and responsive. To address some of the reviews- yes, you will hear traffic noise but it didn’t bother but a couple while trying to sleep. Bring a sound machine. We used the pool house shower several times after the beach and pool or even for first floor elderly guests in the mornings. There is one shower in the house but we had plenty of hot water and made use of the outdoor shower. Walking distance to town. The house was well stocked!

Labor Day Weekend Stay
This home was gorgeous and was perfect for what we needed and wanted. We were surprised that it was on such a busy road. The house was as-advertised which is always nice. Size was fine for our 6 adults and 5 kids. The location is a bit unique...right off the highway and away from the town but convenient. 2 minute walk to Walgreens & Taco Bell. 2 minute drive to the grocery store. 5 minute bike ride to the Kal-Haven Trail start. The pool is very big and there were some floats in the garage that we used. The house was well stocked with the essentials. AC worked well, BBQ was clean. Internet worked great. Overall it is a nice, cozy house that is great if you are ok not being walking distance (while carrying stuff) to the beach. We enjoyed our stay. Fatima responded quickly before and during our stay. Owner provided an amazon fire stick that we couldn't seem to get working but we brought our own roku stick and apple tv so no issues there. Plenty of linens, towels and pool towels were provided which was nice.
Cons (minor in the grand scheme)
Can definitely hear road noise while sleeping but that's to be expected given the location. Doors and floors are creaky which made it difficult for the kids to stay asleep but not a huge deal. The driveway is sandy and filled with gravel...would've been nice if it was paved (or at least much more gravel) as we ended up getting the inside of our cars dirty each time. We needed to use the net to remove bugs every morning (not a big deal) from the pool but a pool heater would go a long way. The only one shower in the house (there is a shower in the seperate pool shed which helped... it also had a toilet but no sink if I recall correctly?!?) was an issue but we knew this ahead of time. I'm not sure why the owner doesn't convert the master bath soaker tub into a tub/shower using a circular curtain rod...it would make the house so much more convenient for groups of size.
Overall a well kept house that served our family well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house...so long as you are aware of the smaller "cons".

The kitchen is well stocked for cooking great meals. The backyard is an oasis with lush greenery and a crystal clear blue water pool! We walked several times into town and onto the pier as the house location is literally on the same street.

Our only vacation of the year was a success thanks to Fatima and this house that had everything we needed. From the day we booked until the day we left communication was excellent. From our temporary home base we were able to get our morning coffee, visit the farmers stand, grocery store, ice cream stand, parks, restaurants, and beaches. Plus there were ample geocaches in the area to keep us busy! When we weren't exploring the area we were enjoying the crystal clear pool, outdoor deck, and the firepit. Thanks for helping us make lasting memories!

Great time!
Our only vacation of the year was a success thanks to Fatima and this house that had everything we needed. From the day we booked until the day we left communication was excellent. Our experience communicating with the owner was excellent. She was very thoughtful and helpful and responded immediately when we had questions. The advantage of this home is the private pool. The home is a little over a mile from downtown and about 2 miles from North Beach. South Haven is absolutely charming...we will definitely return.

Much higher home than expected. Home had everything we needed to cook and eat every meal at the home. Great appliances as well. Owner was so responsive before and during the trip. She replies within an hour and provides very helpful guidance. Pool was better than expected and very clean (and warm). Fire pit is a nice extra touch for s’mores. Location was great. Close enough for walks to downtown and also right near a country store and gas station/Walgreens for anything you need during the stay. Road is a bit loud but not an issue when our back nor at night while sleeping. People on this make it seem like a big deteaction. It isn’t.

Beautiful Home, location was questionable
There were a lot of pros with just a few cons of this property. It is a recent flip that they need to finish with details on such as no bars in the closets and no dressers in some of the rooms, limited trash cans in the rooms and driveway needs attention. Each door could use WD-40 because they are very creaky and loud, sound carries due to the age of the house. Would be nice to have working side table lamps in each bedroom as well. Host was very responsive to issues. Location is on the main street so it is VERY loud. You have to use the AC even in 75 degree temps because you don’t want to open the windows. It is across the street from a very busy gas station. The pool was lovely to have and they cleaned it often while we were there which was nice. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens provided with toiletries. Would be nice to have laundry baskets in the rooms for transport to the basement even just for the last day when you strip the beds & take towels to laundry. We also had to pay $30 each day we went to the beach because it is not walkable (not a con on the house, just FYI). Kids Corner playground is great to take your youngsters to with a beautiful view and the sunset cruise on Friends Good Will was AWESOME!!!

Our First Michigan Experience!
We absolutely love Michigan and staying at your property made our vacation more enjoyable! The pool was great after a day at the beach or sightseeing and we took our annual family portrait by the pool. We used the fire pit several times making smores. The house was spacious and newly renovated with a beautiful table and chairs to accommodate our family.
It was the Blueberry Festival and we enjoyed the festivities around town.

Fun weekend
The house is beautiful and all 7 of us had a great time. We brought bikes and were able to bike into town. The house is about a 5 min. walk to Meijers too. We used the firepit, the grill on the deck, the fireplace inside and got in the pool a little (a bit cold). It's a beautiful setting. Thank you!

Beautiful South Haven home!
Great house, great location. We could drive or ride bikes to the beach and downtown. The house had everything we needed for our long week end. Fatima was available for any questions or requests. Loved the pool!!!

Backyard Paradise!
We have been traveling to South Haven for the past ten years and have stayed in a different home each time. This home has been my favorite!
The Home: The home has been meticulously updated and everything is BRAND NEW! It is apparent that it was not just a quick rental flip- every detail has been thought of an this home has been renovated with love and care. The main floor has a nice open flow and a spacious kitchen. The downstairs bedroom and half bath were nice for my in-laws who needed the main floor and quiet at night from the little ones. The master suite bed was super comfy and the bathtub was fabulous! Everyone (6 adults and 5 kids) commented on how comfortable the beds were. The walk-in shower was luxurious. There were plenty of extra towels including pool towels in the basement, along with a washer and dryer.
The Backyard: Even though we only had a few hours without rain during our stay, we made the most of the pool! The kids had a blast in the over-sized pool and the adults loved lounging in the four separate outdoor seating spaces. We utilized the grill, fire pit, and lawn chairs. The pool house/shed with a toilet and shower were a nice surprise and it was very clean and helped to keep the house dry. Having access to the garage was nice and there was plenty of parking.
The Location: Though it is on one of the main streets in South Haven, the house is set back enough that it still felt private. The backyard was surrounded by fences and greenery, so privacy was not an issue. We did walk downtown to the shops and it is a bit of a walk, but not too far if you enjoy walking.
The Hosts: Fatima was wonderful! She was very accommodating and quick to answer all of my questions before and during our stay. She even took note that we were one bed short for a toddler and within the hour had brought an air mattress and all of the linens! I was hesitant to stay in a home so new that had not had reviews yet, but I am so glad we did!
