The proximity to the semi private beach.

This property is located very close to the main road through town. We could here traffic all night.

unique addition to your Costa Rica trip

this was the most unique hotel we’ve ever stayed in. sleeping here was incredible - you hear all the bugs and animals but none of them touch you :) one of a kind bath and jacuzzi inside. we had to book it again because we loved it so much! the owner is very involved and kind

We stayed in the bus and it was exceptional. Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable... Definitely something different! Beautiful beach, easy to get around, great for kids. We loved our stay here and would definitely go back.

They could work a bit on the beach access - bridges over the small river to make it look nicer and safer for the kids.

A magical experience.

We stayed in the School Bus. As a family with a daughter who is a fan of the US TV show The Magic School Bus it was perfect. The location really is incredibly beautiful. The secluded beach a minutes walk away. The wildlife was abundant with a sloth, iguanas, toucans and much more. Maria at reception was really helpful. We didn't want to leave and definitely want to go back.

we took the “bus” which is fun and very comfortable. private garden leads directly to the pristine beach. there are beach chairs waiting for you. peace, light, lots of friendly animals to appretiate.

Miserable... do not recommend.

Nice location south of Puerto Viejo.

We rented the Beach Suite for a company trip. Only one room had AC (though it was advertised as all having AC) and the rest of the house was open air; which wouldn't be so bad except there were no screens at all. Wasps, moths, and beetles all over the house and the kitchen had an ant infestation... not to mention the building itself worn out... definitely not as nice as the photos lead you to believe. Then there's constant "septic tank" smell... pretty gross. We stayed one night and were forced to leave at 6am because of the conditions. Even with notifying the property, they refused to make it right and issue a refund for the remaining nights so we had to file a claim with our credit card company. They just try to make it sound like you're paying for the "experience" of camping in the jungle. Definitely think twice before booking this place. There's a reason they want full pre-payment... otherwise people would walk away the moment they see the facilities.

This was a great location, close to activities and restaurants and very quiet location. The wildlife at the beach house was amazing!

Disappointing

was central close to the main street

looked better at the pics… when we entered the room there were big insects in the bathroom… behind the shower faucet appeard also big spider legs when we were using the shower and a 10cm cricket was sitting in the middle of the bathroom when we entered the room the first time…of course its a forest and insects can come inside but before a new arrival it would be nice to check and clean the room and use insect spray in the edges in the room… the toilets hat the standard of a hostel but were not like in a hotel

Our experience was like some others, disappointing on several points: - No information on the services offered on booking: no bike, no mini golf accessible to all, no yoga or fitness classes mentioned on arrival it is only after asking for the last day that the receptionist informs us the possibility of doing yoga classes - Garden house at the edge of the road with noise from cars every day even outside the weekend (we were never told the name of the house before our arrival, so we could not know it when booking). The house did not look like the photos on booking which showed a bright warm house (candles, very bright interior) even if the current period is not the sunniest. - The beach accessible at the end of the garden is not a suitable beach for chilling. In addition the door supposed to close the end of the garden could not close because the gift was blocked open because rusted Finally, the receptionist who confirmed to us to be there on the day of check out at the scheduled time was not there, so we left leaving the keys on the front desk after waiting a while It is generally not a hotel or a lodge but a house rental far from the center of puerto viejo without restaurant onsite. It is therefore necessary to take the car quite regularly even if some restaurants are accessible on foot from the house. We had the feeling of having been fraud by the photos and the description made on booking

Loved our stay at Treehouse Lodge!!

We stayed at the bus house. It was a very nice accommodation. Surroundings, nature are very beautiful. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 3 nights in the tree house, in a schoolbus :) It was great. A lot of space, big rooms and a terasse. It had a clean kitchen, with a lot of stuff. Nice beach access. One basket of free laundry. The two women of the reception were very nice and helpful. Good location for see both nationalparks - manzanillo and cahuita. We would come again.

Amazing!

It doesn't get cooler than staying in a jungle treehouse! I loved being around so much wildlife every day. I saw monkeys, toucans, macaws, iguanas, and all sorts of animals while I was there. It was incredible! The location is great. You can easily walk to restaurants nearby and also the beach, or there are bike rentals close by if you want to cycle. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and always quick to answer if you have any questions. The tree house itself was a lot of fun - I loved walking up the bridges to the main treehouse each day. It has a kitchen and grill if you want to cook your own food, hammock to laze in, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Not the fanciest set up, but unique and a very cool experience.

Not something I didn't like but something to be aware of - if you're a high maintenance traveler, you probably won't like it. If you're only used to luxury hotels, than this is probably a little on the rugged side. E.g. you will see bugs, its just part of staying in the jungle. Also, there was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner which would've been useful.

One of a kind experience. I highly recommend this property!

The location was fabulous and the grounds were so beautiful! Rural setting with lovely gardens and a private beach. Doesn't get any better! If you like nature and beautiful flowers, you will love it here. In the community we saw a sloth, frogs, monkeys, Agouti's and other animals. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating! If you want to use your private hot tub, make sure you notify the staff in the morning. It takes some extra time for them to fill and heat the tub. We stayed in the Crystal house. The decor was very quirky and unique. Also, it has an open roof so you can hear the jungle birds and animals all the time.

No complaints...we were sad to leave!

Reception staff were nice and helpful not always there. It would have been nice to have someone around more often to answer questions for us.

The website is set up to make you think you're staying in treehouses. We got the garden suite which was a Lodge and it was right by the road, noisy, a bit tired and in need of an update. There was garbage in the garden that wasn't cleaned up. Jacuzzi was empty. I was imagining a bigger tree house in the garden.

the house is great. although, there is only one room on the top of the tree. the other, rather normal room, is on the ground floor. the bathroom is great and also the hot tub was cool

Exceptional

We stayed at the school bus, which was an attraction by itself (especially with kids)! The place was amazing and super comfortable. Large sitting and dinning area, a grill and well equipped kitchen. It was peaceful and quiet as the other cabins were far from each other. The location was perfect right next to the a beautiful beach. Highly recommend this place!

Passing through

We stayed just one night and it was not enough! The treehouse looked exactly like the pictures! It was so much relaxing in it. The beach is a super quick 2 min walk from the porch! The nets over the bed were very efficient I didn’t get bit at all. Very clean and serene!
