My family & I had a great stay in the smokies at this beautiful home. The house was spacious, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils once could need. We didn't get snow but we loved sitting in the rocking chairs out on the front deck/drive. The house was older, but clean except some stains on the carpets. Recycling would be nice & it was a little steeper of a drive than anticipated. Overall it was the perfect house for a large family gathering. They even left flowers for my mom since I said we were celebrating her 80th birthday.

Excellent rental company best in area an I’ve had experience as a guest now an as an owner in the past. You can’t beat Mountain Laurel Chalets as a rental company! But everyone who knows anything knows that!

The view from the kitchen and back of the house is amazing! The house was clean and well equipped. It could use more large skillets and some wine glasses, otherwise it was well equipped. We enjoyed the theater room where we watched some old home movies. The carpet in bedrooms is starting to show wear and may need replacing soon but overall the house looked great!

We normally stay at a very large modern home with a grand entrance, oversized living room, and very open floorplan. This house was not that, but it was still fantastic! Everyone loved it. I liked how it felt like a homey mountain house but it did not have cheeky trinkets around the house with family photos etc. They did a very good job of making you feel like you were home and in a comfortable cozy space with nicely appointed décor and art that wasn’t cheesy like Cracker Barrel or grandma lived there. The hot tub was separate from the house, a short walk through nice grass. It was not covered with a roof, which we loved, because it made us really enjoy being outside surrounded by nature. The fire pit next to the hot tub was fun (bring firewood). The house was very clean and neat, linens and towels were fresh. There was tiny motel style bar soap in every bathroom. Bring shampoo. There was no squirt hand soap in the whole house. So definitely bring some of that for the kitchen at least. Lots of parking. We fit 3 cars in the driveway directly next to house, end to end. 2 cars fit under carport and we put one perpendicular behind them. Then there is a satellite lot down their driveway about 100 yards where you could fit 3 or 4 cars if needed.

We have stayed in many cabins but this house was our favorite. Had everything we needed, and awesome view. Beds were comedy/clean and plenty of them. Fit our group perfectly. Everyone said go ahead and book for next year.

If you're looking for a cookie cutter home where everything is new and pristine- this is not the place for you. If you're ok with a few cobwebs and stains on the carpet and a home FILLED with character and love, then this IS the place for you and your group. We absolutely loved the charm and hominess of the Chalet Village. There were a few things that didnt work or broke during our stay and while the app they suggest is completely useless- as soon as the main office heard directly from us of our issues they fixed them promptly. The home was spacious with plenty of room for our group of 20 to spread out and not feel cramped. The beds were incredibly comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen but did bring along a few extra things just based on how much our group eats (second crock pot, griddle and extra cookie sheets). We loved the outside- from the deck with the rocking chairs to the side yard with the hot tub that we used daily. We even encountered a black bear who did indeed open one of our car doors! (They mean it when they tell you to lock your doors- even in the middle of the day!!). If driving on the mountains up steep roads with no railings makes you nervous, you might reconsider this location. But if you're comfortable with it- the views are 100% worth it! We had the best time and would absolutely stay with Mountain Laurel again. *I took one star off for cleanliness just because you can tell that they clean the homes as quickly as possible to turn around for the next group. Inevitably, there were things that were missed. Not enough to bother our group (we can wipe tooth paste off a door handle and handle a few carpet stains) but enough I felt warranted 4/5 stars *As mentioned, we had some issues and tried filling out the form on the app to report them. Don't waste your time. Just call directly down or stop by the main office. Once they knew of our issues they came up right away (broken door handle on front door one day and blown breaker the next. Nothing major, really!). So just skip the app and call them directly!

We loved the spacious interior, the amenities: from the hot tub, to the game room, to the theater, to the washer/dryer, and the scenic views, when available, were spectacular. It misted rain and was foggy much of the time. We even got visited by a bear one morning! He walked across the back deck. I think he may have gotten a whiff of our breakfast cooking! He paused and seemed to decide to keep going after he saw we weren't going to feed him! This was our first mountain experience and even though the steep ride up was scary at first, after getting there, it was worth it! The only suggestion I would make to the owner is to remove the carpet and change or clean their air vents. The vents were filthy and the carpet had dirty spots in some places! We brushed the main intake vent with the broom and the black dust that came out was awful. Many of us have allergies. Other than those two things, I would have given a 5 for cleanliness. Nevertheless, all things considered, it was AWESOME!

Because of Covid 19, we stayed in the chalet or in GSMNP the entire time. There was plenty of bedroom space for everyone and the kitchen and dining space worked well. We spent a lot of time on the huge deck and were visited daily by bears hunting for a meal. We had one person always on bear patrol so as to keep the little ones safe. We used the hot tub in the evenings after long hikes and enjoyed the fire pit (although the hot tub top was broken). The kids liked playing in the kids playhouse in the yard. We did have to do some creative parking to get all of the vehicles parked so we didn't block the drive. It was very doable. We had a fabulous time celebrating a 50th birthday! Thank you Mountain Laurel Chalet for your personal attention and genuine interest in our family's comfort.

We had a good time but we was expecting a pool that was online with the cabin. The bear kept us on our toes after he damage one car and somehow got in another vehicle.

The unobstructed view of Mt Leconte from the deck and from the kitchen and adjacent sitting room is spectacular. If you have a group large enough to be considering this rental, you should just go ahead and reserve it. Of all the places we have stayed at in the GSM park area over the years, this is among the very best. Only caution is that there was a lot of bear activity during our stay so vigilance is essential. One member of our group forot to lock their car and we found a bear had opened both front doors of the vehicle and had rumaged through the center console to find a small bottle of hand sanitizer, and had also pulled a 12 pack of soda from the car for his/her enjoyment. The bear also tipped over a "bear proof" trash container in the car port area. Regular visitors know that bear activity is normal in this area. To ensure a safe visit, just follow the recommendations provided by Mtn Laurel Chalets and wild life authorities.

This year (2020) the maintenance and cleanliness was far below average. First, the kitchen floor and counters were not clean. All utensils...cooking, serving and eating... had to be cleaned before using. No organization as far as cooking and serving pieces. Second, burned out lights in kitchen and bathrooms. Third, vent covering over the return unit looked as if it had not been cleaned in a year. Fourth,live roaches were seen in a couple rooms. Fifth, doorknob to theater room was not attached to the door. Sixth, window treatments were in disarray. Seventh, not able to get dvd player to work, also some remote controls had bad batteries. Eighth, some seats in theater room were broken and had sticky substance on them. Office was contacted about the dvd player and bad batteries. We were told someone would be there after they had taken care of some other properties, probably in a couple of hours. No one showed up and the office was closed when we called back. This is listed as a premium property, which means top dollar rental cost, this was not a premium maintenance nor cleaned property. When making our reservation the person was very friendly and helpful. When checking out, all the above items were mentioned and the response was "Let me make note." Most businesses would have said...I am so sorry. What can we do to compensate for your inconvenience? All we got was "Let me make note." Tilll this year I have recommend this rental company and this property to a friends, not any more
