This is our second stay at Flora's Dream. It is a lovely retreat and truly a beautiful spot to unwind and reconnect. Plenty to do should you decide to venture out. The hosts provide specific helpful information and recommendations. The home itself is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. We look forward to visiting again!!

This location is perfect for those that want to disconnect from all the worlds problems. Just the right amount of solitude with no WIFI. Not to far off the beaten path but far enough.

We enjoyed our quiet place on the less touristy side of Acadia National Park. The property description was accurate. Joan and Izak were easy to communicate with. The cottage is well equipped with kitchen appliances (even including a waffle maker), games, videos, kayaks, TV/stereo etc. One and 2 seat kayaks are available. Grand Marsh Bay is beautiful at high and low tide. Schoodic Point Acadia (15 min drive away) is a cool place to spend time. Acadia on the Bar Harbor side is about an hour drive away. If needed, a ferry gets you there too. If we were to return (we're 900 miles away) we would definitely stay there again!

Our family of 6 just returned from an amazing week! What was there not to love? Firstly, the cottage is a true family cottage. It is stocked with books, travel guides, games, DVDs, comfortable furniture, fully stocked kitchen, soft linens and towels, Maine-themed decorations, and of course the kayaks and bikes. You immediately feel at home. Secondly, the cottage is very, very clean (even the many fans are spotless). Thirdly, it is in a very quiet and peaceful location--when we sat by the water it was as if we were far away from all people. Fourthly, the owners are very responsive hosts if you have a question or concern. Plus they give great recommendations of where to go and where to eat. All the places we could fit in from their suggestions were top notch.
When you stay at this cottage, be sure to visit USBells (a mile or so away) and learn about bell making. Also, visit ChapterTwo art & gifts for local art. We loved the whoopee pies from Provisions (grocery store in Winter Harbor). Dinner at The Treehouse (Winter Harbor) was excellent. Lunches at The Pickled Wrinkle, Lunch on the Wharf (Corea), and The Knotty Lobster (Milbridge) were all delicious).
We did very Acadia on Schoonic Peninsula and liked it better than Mt. Desert Island as there were many less people but same beauty. Bar Harbor was fun too.

Had a wonderful stay. Everything was super clean upon arrival and the cabin is really nicely appointed – we were super comfortable and were not lacking for anything. Fantastic place to come ‘home’ to relax in after exploring Schoodic and points beyond. All of the host's feedback and tips were great and put to good use – thank you for being a great host. A bit far from Bar Harbor and what not but then again....that's the point! Explore Schoodic - it will not disappoint.

Stayed a week and had great time. Loved having bikes and kayaks. Cabin was beautiful and very relaxing. We spent a lot of time on screened in porch listening to red squirrels. The recommendations for area attractions were great as well, puffin watching was highlight!

We had a great week. House was comfortable and clean, the screened-in porch was a great way to enjoy being outside without being mauled my mosquitoes. During high tide we kayaked in the bay, which was protected from wind. Tides are huge, and at low tide the water recedes to a stream. Saw a number of shore birds over the week, and made a few visits to local spots. Really enjoyed The Wrinkled Pickle for beer, food and live music. Maine is just the best place to be!

Where do I start?
The vacation home was GREAT! Situated in a secluded area on Grand Marsh Bay, it was SO peaceful! Especially at night!
Stargazing from the deck was AWESOME!
The interior was very spacious, clean and laid out well. It was also very comfortable.
The stove/heater kept us warm at night (some on the upper level, more so).
The bathroom did not have a cramped feeling and the kitchen was well supplied and very workable.
The view from the deck and screened porch was AMAZING!
The owners were quick to answer any questions we had and they gave us some great tips for shopping, food and treats.
The schoodic Peninsula is a great place! The Schoodic Institute and Schoodic part of Acadia are unbelievably beautiful!
We found a gem of a restaurant in Winter Harbor. The Treehouse. The Lobster Stew and the crabcakes are phenomenal!
Try to take in a Lobster Boat tour. We went out with Capt. Dan on his boat Bottom Line out of Corea Harbor. What a great guy! He and his daughter were so nice and knowledgeable about the area. We took our catch to the harborside restaurant in Corea and they steamed them for us. DELICIOUS! Literally 1 hour from trap to table.
Lobster doesn’t come much fresher than that!

Charming and perfect for our family. Our daughter requested away from the crowds and the wooded setting was perfect. The house was clean and comfortable with lots of extras...games, kayaks, bikes, books, etc

We enjoyed our stay. It gave us an opportunity to explore Acadia National Park including the Schoodic Peninsula. Unfortunately the bikes and kayaks were not as usable as we had hoped. The water level in Grand Marsh Bay behind the house was too low to use the kayaks for most of the time during the day. We knew the tides made an impact, but it had a bigger impact than we anticipated. Also, the distance to ride the bikes to get to the scenic loop was further than we anticipated. Neither of these are under the host's control, but we wanted to let other families know for planning purposes.
An in all, we really enjoyed our visit to Acadia, and we appreciated a place to stay on the Schoodic Peninsula.

We had a very nice atay! The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable. There was a nice selection of DVDs, and we were able to cast our phones to the TV to watch other shows. We loved sitting on the screened porch! Bring bug spray for the walk to the shoreline. Great stay!

Cozy cottage on the Maine coast. Perfect location for a puppy who barks at everything ! Loved smelling both the pines and the low tide. Owner gave great recommendations on places to eat and things to do. Would stay here again

This is a great escape place - as a couple in our early 60s with two Vizsla dogs, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay while we discovered the Schoodic Peninsula each day. We would return in a heartbeat.

Host very easy to reach. Everything was as listed. Clean, very nice kitchen, gas grill on the deck, homey, woodsy, and wonderful bouldery slab access to water for kayaking. Beds are VERY comfy. Towels very fluffy. Screened porch is just great--although we had VERY FEW insect concerns compared to Maine trips in last 30 years (where have all the bugs gone???). Bald eagle fly-by welcomed us the first morning. Sand beach is just a few miles down the road--lovely beach and SO happy to return to it! Only 2 very minor caveats: 1) broken screen door was quickly jerryrigged with a temporary repair with help from neighbor Jeff and his son--problem addressed immediately-- and 2) we wished there were better closet/hanging space for clothes. These were such minor concerns they're barely worth mentioning. Next trip, we hope to stay 2 weeks! Can't say enough good things about hosts: answered every question, curiosity (Ravens Nest hike on Schoodic is fantastic), and concern, and made our stay truly trouble free, cozy, relaxed, and memorable. AND...all concerns about a possibly rainy week evaporated as we arrived. Weather was great. Wow. Just, wow.

A very relaxing week
This property was fabulous! We are a very active family so having access to real bikes was a massive plus. We loved the deck and the ability to kayak and swim daily. The Schoodic region is heavily underrated - we loved the little towns nearby and the many hikes and biking trails. The owners were extremely willing to answer our questions and to go above and beyond to help us out on numerous occasions. 5 stars !

Great trip to Acadia
We truly enjoyed all the property had to offer, using bikes to visit the nearby lighthouse and daily kayaks at high tide. Kids loved catching crabs from the rocks. Recommendations from Izak were greatly appreciated as it was our first time visiting the area.

Everything and more!
This is a perfect rental for enjoying Maine!!! The water front on Grand Marsh Bay is gorgeous. We took many walks in both directions of those house, and had a great time kayaking in the bay. The house is really clean and has everything that's described. The screened in porch was our favorite part of the house, it's large and very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Quiet and Cozy
We loved our stay at the cabin. The cabin was the cleanest rental I have ever been in - and I am super picky about cleanliness! I thought the pictures don't do the inside justice. It is not fancy but super cozy and comfortable. I missed having a dishwasher and one bathroom for 6 people took a bit of planning, but other than that it was perfect. (We only had all 6 people there a few days so it wasn't really a big deal.) We enjoyed sitting down on the rocks a few days and saw an eagle. It was quiet and I much prefer that to the crowds of the Bar Harbor area. We drove over to Bar Harbor / Acadia a few times and it is a bit of a drive, about an hour, but we also loved the lobster boat "catch your dinner" at the nearby wharf , lunch on the wharf, the pickled wrinkle and quick access to Schoodic Peninsula. There were bikes and kayaks but we were too lazy to get those out. :) We did enjoy some of the many games and several of the dvds! No wifi (which is stated) but our phones (Verizon) worked great and I was able to hotspot my computer and get work done that way. I would be happy to stay there again for another visit if we get back to Maine again soon. Thanks for a GREAT stay!

Quiet, secluded
Beautiful location and wonderfully quiet. Lovely view of the water from the porch plus additional screened in porch. Nice skylight on second floor. Great mattresses on beds. Everything provided other than TV. Lots of videos and great books. Our dogs loved this wonderful quiet location!

Fun Location
Owners were very responsive to questions, etc. The location is a bit out of the way, but we enjoyed that. Spent time exploring the Schoodic region of Acadia National Park & kayaking right out behind the cabin. It's roughly a one hour drive to Bar Harbor & the main part of the park. Very private setting

Great trip for Memorial Day weekend
House was very clean and well-stocked, beds were comfortable, and host was extremely responsive. No wi-fi, but great cellular reception. I was able to hotspot off my phone and get a little work done. Multiple kayaks and bike available for use. Located near some small lobstering villages- not very touristy but excellent lobster to be had. Great place if you are looking for a quiet getaway. It’s an hour to Bar Harbor and 30 minutes to Ellsworth, so best to plan your shopping in one trip. The Schoodic peninsula is amazingly beautiful- had a nice bike ride and grabbed lunch at the pickled wrinkle.

Loved our stay
Visiting Maine had been a long time wish and the Wonderful stay just made it one of the best trips. The cabin was well maintained. All amenities were provided. I loved that there were bikes provided,which gave me an opportunity to unwind each day.My son was so excited with the bunk beds that he refused to come down sometimes. Detailed instructions were provided and we loved the cozy cabin tucked away in the woods.

Cabin is just as advertised. Kayaking is great, right on your doorstep though you do have to carry them down some stairs. We did not use the bikes. Kitchen is very well equipped, obviously a cook’s kitchen. We enjoyed our stay

Beautiful property
This is a beautiful, well-kept property. It’s a little out of the way (over an hour to Acadia & Bar harbor) but that lends to its charm. It’s an easy drive to points of interest - and honestly we could have never left the property and been perfectly entertained. We are so grateful to have stayed here.

Private and Peaceful
My husband and I stayed at this property for 5 days. It was private. Hardly knew you had any neighbors at all. We enjoyed the kayaks the most. One morning we saw a few seals and they came pretty close to us while kayaking. The high and low tide was fun to track. We enjoyed steaming lobster almost every night in the well equipped kitchen. Lots of trails and fun places to explore. We had quite a few questions about different things to do and the owners were so responsive and helpful. We enjoyed many of their recommendations. We would love to visit again with our 4 young children (10,8,6,4). They would LOVE it too!

Tucked back in the woods overlooking the bay, many birds overhead. Clean, high quality rustic.
We love the simple cabin style but fine amenities - plush towels and comfy beds, super dog friendly. Kayak the marsh was great and didn’t have to lug or own boats. The boys loved riding bikes and nearly hit a dear twice - remote but with it. Kitchen is well supplied except dish washer. Gas stove kept us warm on cool days. Very nice place.
