The photos do not do this property justice. Bonnie and Mark are the most gracious hosts. The cottage is immaculate, and is stocked with anything you could need, plus things you didn’t know you might want. The dock and views are better than any resort, and private. 5 stars, you want to pick this property !!!!

Loved everything about this darling carriage house in Gouldsboro, ME. It was about an hour drive to bar Harbor and parts of the park. That really isn't bad once you see how wide open and spread out everything is. It was great to go do the tourist attractions and come home to a great view, quiet location with stunning views and everything you need. Great hosts, great location, great stay!!

Very beautiful property with a peer overlooking the harbor. Quiet place, accessible to restaurants and trails. The most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on in any hotel or VRBO. I can tell it is pure quality. Hosts were nice, reachable for questions, etc. Overall great experience.

The cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated with all the charm of New England. It was even better than the photos. The picturesque location provided sunrise views from the bedroom windows, relaxation on the dock, and star gazing from the fire pit. We enjoyed trips to Schoodic, Acadia, local preserves, and West Quoddy lighthouse and state park. Bonnie is an excellent host.

From the moment we arrived we loved the cottage! Perfect for the two of us! We bought local seafood and cooked in almost every night while enjoying the solitude of property. Would absolutely come back again and stay. Bonnie was so easy to work with and the cottage was clean and very well appointed!

We had a wonderful stay! It’s a beautiful, quiet affordable spot for any couple looking to get away and enjoy the Maine coast without breaking the bank. The loft / cottage has everything one needs. We cooked most of our meals on the grill and enjoyed the private dock and fire pit. Views are beautiful and peaceful.

If you are looking for a perfect peaceful getaway for two, this is it. There are plenty of places to choose from to eat for dine in or take out. Many places to go see if you want to take an adventure get out and explore. Ellsworth is 20 min. and Bar Harbor Acadia National Park are under an hour away. We will definitely try to get back again. The property was as advertised! So restful and quiet, with views from every window. We enjoyed hiking and biking in the area - Arcadia in Bar Harbor and Schoodic sides, plus a trip to Lubec and Campobello Island. Highly, highly recommend this VRBO!

Was absolutely the best place we ever stayed. Views were magnificent and the bay! Really enjoyed sitting by the bay with the campfire roaring! The hosts rreally know how to give the very best !

This location is a perfect spot to enjoy all of the activities Maine offers for outdoor enthusiasts or a quiet place to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings. The carriage house is clean and comfortable, perfect for one person or a couple. The hosts are responsive and provide great recommendations for places to eat, visit and hike.

We were in Maine to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we love the area. I am a procrastinator when looking at places to stay and I am so glad I came across Barbara's carriage house! It did not disappoint! We fell in love the moment we stepped inside. It is very well-appointed, well taken care of and very comfortable. It was just the right size for the 2 of us. The dock is a wonderful feature. I had my coffee there every morning where I captured a lot of pictures as the view is AWESOME!!! We did a lot of sightseeing while there and it was great knowing we were coming "home" every night to this wonderful piece of paradise. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Maine. Thank-you so much for renting out your space so everyone gets a chance to experience this peaceful area.

The layout was perfect…kitchen easy to work in with everything I needed. Lovely view from windows and small deck. Dock has 2 chairs for enjoying the views and sea breezes. Owners were terrific and helpful.

The Carriage House was in a wonderful, quiete location with easy access to places we wanted to enjoy. Having our own waterfront dock was extra special.

The Carriage House is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation. The pictures on the VRBO site do not do it justice. There is even a propane grill and hammock that are not described on the site. We would love to return!

The cottage house was nicely decorated with a comfortable home like feel. The views were great both morning and evening. Beautiful flowers everywhere. Perfect location to be out of the crowds but close enough to everything. All recommendations by owner worked out perfect, for my husband and I. Loved the hike to Gorham Mt. with the kids and grandkids.

The perfect "cottage" property, equipped for a real "down east" vacation away from the hustle and bustle of...life! Can not say enough about this property or its owners. Cottage was comfortable, well kept, and meticulously clean. The little "touches" for cooking convenience, board and card games, reading, and area recommendations were appreciated! Dock was picturesque without being loud or crowded. Very solitary, which was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful nature, a half hour - 1 hour from Acadia with hikes for adventure lovers, stores at bar harbor and short drives to many spectacular views of harbors and bay areas. We will return...SOON!

We enjoyed our stay here! Very clean and comfortable. My husband found the chair in the living area was his favorite reading spot! Plenty of things to do in the area, Acadia, Schoonic Peninsula were awesome but we really enjoyed coming "home" to finish our day. As landlubbers, I was fascinated with the tides, the view was constantly changing. Unfortunately, we were never home or awake to see high tide. It was a bit buggy at night so don't forget insect repellent if you want to sit on the deck in the evening. The sunrise was beautiful every morning and you can sit on the deck and watch the lobster boats collecting their catch. There are plenty of places to dine without having to drive too far. We hope to be able to come back in the future!

Quiet and beautiful Carriage House with amazing views from every room at a very reasonable price. The owners were awesome to deal with and very helpful with everything that we needed.

This upstairs/carriage house apartment was great place located at point of bay/harbor, beautiful wooded/coast with views of wildlife and fishing/lobster boats anchored in harbor, great dock for sitting and breathing in the ocean air and surroundings. House had wide windows for view and small deck also. Saw beautiful sunrises and full moon. Apartment is beautiful and well equipped with convenience needs. We stayed three nights as second stop on our two week road trip throughout Vermont and Maine coast. This place offered experience of being away from tourist sites and areas. It is a n hour drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia main park, but with the time to have this location. Enjoyed seeing some of the smaller coral neighborhoods/areas on this side of the bay. One limitation/challenge for anyone with mobility issues are the 15 or so steps to climb into the apartment. The space was worth the effort for us, two seniors with age related mobility concerns, We enjoyed our stay!!!!

The Carriage house was very pretty and well decorated. The view was great. Our only disappointment was the host seem irritated that we drove into her driveway and not the VRBO. The address wasn't clear. This was our very first time staying at a VRBO - We were a little surprised that the lack of attention from the host. Although she indicated we could text if we needed anything. Overall a good experience.

Beautiful, quiet location. Photos don't do justice to the bay views from the carriage house and from the dock at the edge of the yard. The sunrises were gorgeous. The house was so cute and clean. It is away from the crowds which are closer to Acadia National Park. The stars were amazing - very visible in the dark night sky. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I spent three days in this lovely space. Clean, nicely decorated, with comfortable bed and chairs for full comfort and relaxation. The kitchen was great for cooking. We used this as our home base for visiting Acacia National Park and surrounds. It was delightful to wake up to the view of the cove with visits from a Great Blue Heron and other water birds. Inspired by the evening light on the water with a full moon each night. A very special location.

Smaller property over garage. Well designed use of space. Large bedroom, open concept kitchen/living area. Friendly kitchen layout. Fire pit. Strategically located far enough north of MDI/Acadia NP to lose the visitor chaos. Good departure point for nearby peninsulas with nature walks, hikes, scenic drives. Nearby public kayak launching area. Minor niggles: Softer bed, refrigerator joined many conversations. Owner phone reply to callback request was leisurely. If you're driving, bring favorite larger pots/pans as on-site ones trend toward small, and a window fan.
