Having returned safely to Roskilde, Denmark, I would like to thank you for the very professional service, you provided us regarding our stay at the Villa Rosalia in Menaggio 2.9 - 12.9. I have been organising one or two abroad stays for our small private cycling club within the last 10 years. And I have to say, that your service have been by far the best. That goes for your quick and thorough assistance, the personal contacts and the highly relevant information you provided us with. June 2018 Hi Happy Holiday Homes Team – (including Carla, Karin, Lydia, Tamarra, and Elisa) This is in reference to our stay this summer in Villa Rosalia in Menaggio from Jun 23-30. Our one week stay on Lake Como was a gathering of our California and Australian family for my husband’s 75th birthday, my son’s 40th birthday and as it turned out – for my son’s engagement to his lovely Australian fiancé on June 23rd. Our Villa Rosalia in Menaggio was a perfect choice as we could spread the group of 8 over three floors with bathrooms for every bedroom, lots of privacy and a quiet space room of her own for my two year old granddaughter to sleep without being disturbed. The air-conditioning was great, the views were fantastic and the outdoor space with the little pool and lovely furnishings gave way to many wonderful family meals. I can’t say enough about the efficiency and genuine concern of the Happy Holiday Homes staff. They were a huge help when we had to delay our booking due to a new job conflict situation at home during the planning stage. They were in touch with us on arrival so the transition in was easy. After leading us up the hill from the central office, they provided a thorough introduction to the villa with surprise supplies and goodies provided. Elisa Rava ensured through her reservation for us that we had the perfect table for our celebration night on the lake at Il Ristorante de Paolo. We were delighted that the meal and service were just perfect. The excellent dinner was followed with a surprise concert in the next piazza (ok for the town – not just us!) which really rounded off our evening – declared by everyone as “magical”, enjoyed immensely by my granddaughter as she danced throughout every number and my husband who said “best night ever!” Other than our really comfy stay at Villa Rosalia we also enjoyed a food and wine tasting tour in Varenna, a day trip by ferry to Bellagio (great place to shop, have drinks at the elegant Hotel Serbelloni and lunch at the waterfront Metropole), and especially two self drive boat rentals on the lake from Menaggio that seemed to top everyone’s list of fun! Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo is a must see. My advice if you are coming into Milan Airport is to rent a car there as it’s an easy drive to Menaggio and very helpful to get up and down to the lake and for buying groceries in the big supermarket in town (Conad City) or from the Carrefore just over the hill in Switzerland. Parking for 3 cars was a little tricky but do-able and the house is very secure. We reviewed several companies and many villas before choosing Villa Rosalia in charming Menaggio from Happy Holiday Homes and I am convinced this was the best decision for a family vacation villa we could have made. Menaggio is the perfect spot on Lake Como as it is so central to the lake, has wonderful restaurants and amenities and is a key ferry port. Everything is here, the villas are all lovely with Rosalia just beautiful and great value compared to others. I will be forever grateful to all the staff at Happy Holiday Homes who made our stay so memorable and perfect. Thanks so much to you all for making it such a great time! Carol, USA
