Lovely home on Lake Hartwell that was perfectly suited for our biennial family Thanksgiving weekend gathering of 15 members. The house provided accommodations for sleeping, food preparation, and eating for our clan. Friday, our 5 families took day trips to Toccoa, Highlands, and Greenville. Saturday was spent watching football and playing games at the house. We were so pleased we are considering coming back in the summer to take advantage of the lake facilities.

The location of this property is great if you're looking for a lake getaway. It's a beautiful spot and was perfect for our two families. We were able to rent a boat from the marina down the road (Harbor Light Marina) and it was a great way to spend a day. The home is good, big enough for our group and relatively comfortable with plenty of amenities (fire pit, grill, patio, dock, etc.). But between the nightly rental cost and all the fees and additional costs it ended up being almost $700/night. For that cost, I would expect it to be immaculate. It was a little worn and could have used a deep clean and maybe some updated mattresses. Not things I would normally be too critical about but for that price I expected a higher standard. I'm not sure how much control the owner has over the fees so it could be a VRBO thing. Overall, I would recommend this home but still think it's priced a little too high.

All of our 10 adult family members were very pleased with the Gumlog house. Room for everyone. The four kid members (under adult supervision) had a blast paddling the owner's Kayak. Our two night stay was too short as the main purpose of our trip was focused on a wedding. However, it would be great to come back for a lengthier stay and not be so consumed with a tight schedule.

Perfect location and just far enough away from the congestion. We had a total of 10 (5 adults and 5 teenagers) and the accommodations were perfect for this size group and bigger. House was clean and everything was accurate for the the listing. Lance was quick to respond to questions and the neighbors were very nice. Looking forward to coming back one day! Ronnie

We had a great time staying at this property! There was enough room for all of us. The house was cozy and newly updated. The owner communicated very clearly and timely with any questions! We loved our stay and made many memories there.

Everything was great except it was hard to put things in fridge because it didn’t open wide loved it would do it again. Owner was wonderful and easy to reach.

Great few days at the lake. Location is excellent. We enjoyed the dock and making s’mores at night. The house was clean and the view from the family room is amazing.

As others have commented, the pictures don’t depict how beautiful this home is! Just a perfect Lake House nestled in a pristine location on beautiful Lake Hartwell. The view from that family living room with the expansive floor to ceiling windows—Wow!! My group consisted of 10 members of my family ranging from age 16 to 81. Everyone commented on how great the home was and were incredibly pleased with all the comfort it offered. Multiple bedrooms with larger beds (not bunk beds or twins) that suited us perfectly; also, the 3 full bathrooms were a lifesaver. The house had everything you need to cook a meal, grill out, or just kick back and relax. The younger crew included 5 “kids” ages 16-29…not a single complaint amongst them👍Of note: the fire pit and dock were a huge hit!! The owner, Lance, could not have been nicer and responded to every question I had regarding the property, surrounding area, stores, etc. If you are looking for a beautiful, comfortable lake house…look no further; you will not be disappointed. House was beautiful, with plenty of room for the 11 people in our group. Lance was responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed use of the kayak, and there was room for the 3 boats we brought. My nephews loved fishing, and my parents were so thrilled, they want to make this an annual retreat spot! Thank you for a great weekend away!

We celebrated our mom's 89th birthday and "All" had an excellent time. Things that were left like scissors, fire starters, etc...were all there for us to use. The place was excellent!! Can't wait to return!!

Wow! I rented this amazing property for a wellness retreat and all I can say is wow! The pictures don’t do it any justice. All my friends kept saying how beautiful the house and the property were. This home was super clean and well appointed. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, dishes, seasonings, and cleaning supplies. There were tons of towels, blankets, and linens. There was ample room for us to spread out and the furniture was very comfortable. Perfect for a weekend of lounging. The best part of the stay was our host. Lance was flexible and accommodating of all of our needs. He was very communicative in the weeks leading up to the trip and was available all weekend whenever we needed to speak to him. He was friendly and made us feel comfortable. A plus- The long term residents in the area were all so nice to us. Whenever they saw us out at the lake or on a walk, they made sure to make us feel welcome. This was a phenomenal experience and we’re already planning our next visit!

We rented this lake house for a Clemson football weekend. Beautiful house and convenient location. 40 minute drive to Clemson. Communication with the owner was easy and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again and maybe next time spend more time on the lake!

We love Lake Hartwell! Great dock with lounge chairs, a kayak, paddle board and plenty of room for our boat. Several outdoor seating areas, grill, fire pit. Well stocked kitchen, soft sheets, fluffy white towels. We swam across the inlet and found a great rope swing into the water. Great adventure!

Incredible property in a peaceful location, a quiet cove. The home was incredibly comfortable and the views from the living room and kitchen were gorgeous! The pictures don't do the location justice. We had everything we needed for the perfect trip and we'd definitely consider returning to this property.

We rented this property to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. The house was great. The pictures do not do it justice. Everything was as described and the owner/host (Lance) was very accommodating. He answered any questions we had leading up to the stay. The spot on the lake is wonderful. There are trees and privacy to the left of the dock (as you face out to the water). The location on the lake is great. The house is very spacious, with 3 levels. The 5 bedrooms are great and has at least 1 large bed in each room. The rooms in the lowest level had plenty of beds/space for kids if that is what you're looking for, but at least 1 large bed for an adult as mentioned before. Really nice setup for a rental. Plenty of parking in the drive way. Very convenient propane grill located just outside the kitchen. Overall a great stay and host. A+++

House was very nice and clean. Great accommodations. However we were disturbed by gutter cleaning and Gutter guard being installed during our vacation. This should have been scheduled when no renters were scheduled on the property
