I booked for the Gudvangen Budget Hotel but upon arrival, I was given the viking theme room, which is good to get a free upgrade. The room is centrally located, with heated bathroom and have basic amenities such as kettle, coffee etc.

When we arrived at night in the mid of December in -8° weather, the room was very cold and even with heating on. I don’t think the heater works properly. Since we are really exhausted and didn’t have much energy and just wanted to rest, we went to bed in the cold. luckily the bathroom heating works. we feel so cozy in the bathroom.

Got an upgrade and room was awesome, proper viking style room

The budget hotel was undergoing renovations so I had a free upgrade to the viking room which was absolutely gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and helpful too!

Perhaps the owners can message beforehand to go to Fjordtell's reception instead of pasting a note at the budget hotel as I had to walk quite a distance to the latter from the pier only to turn back.

Large room with nice view of waterfalls. Not many choices of rooms this time of year so this was the best! More private than their sister hotel with Nordic themed rooms.Restaurant a few steps away was surprisingly good!

would not call this budget, but then again it is Norway.

Marvelous location. Very large room. Comfortable beds and easy access to public transportation and the Vikings village. I had to take the bus early at the last minute and the staff was very helpful, letting me checkout before the usual time.

It would be nice if there was a signal or some indications when arriving from the ferry that the check-in for the Budget Hotel is the same as the one for the Fjordtell, otherwise some people (like me) risk having to walk all the way to the budget hotel and the turn back to the docks to check in (if there was one and I didn't see it please tell me and I'll remove this part). To use the shower without filling the bathroom with water one has to keep the pressure to the minimum and stay really close to it. I didn't find a way to consistently rotate the shower head to a better position to prevent the problem.

Location great. We had the only balcony room there. Great views of the mountains. This has shared bathrooms, they were modern ,clean and spacious.

They had no lifts, so had to take up heavy bags 2 flights of long stairs. The floor felt damp or something, carpets? One corner of room floor didn't feel secure. The one old cupboard for clothes, felt like it was going to fall apart, when you closed it. This is an old building mind you.

it is located next to the viking village, a super market, fuel station and the tunnel to Flåm. The restaurant is very good and the staff friendly.

i am not a fan of beds with springs.

Ideally situated for the ferry to Flam. They kindly up-graded us simply because they had a better room available. Very peaceful and a fantastic view of three waterfalls cascading down the mountainside.

Bathroom was clean. Person on reception was very helpful.

Bed was rather tired. Closet was not somewhere I would like to hang my clothes. Noise from communal shower area & loading of ship nearby.

It was a bed for the night in a place where there is not much about . Very clean toilets and showers. Caretaker on site to sort out any problems.

Bedroom was upstairs which meant hauling heavy bags upstairs. Bed was too soft. Thin walls and you could hear all the outside traffic. Woken early in the morning by passing ore trucks. Not very good value for money.

It was a nice place and we enjoyed our stay.

The dryer was broken and there was no sign on it, so once you washed your clothes, there was no way to dry them.

Very clean and nice, if we knew that it would be so clean, we would take a room with shared bathroom to save a bit

You have to check in in an other hotel, which we weren't notified about so we walked up and down on the street with suitcases

very nice hotel, simple but with all the necessary. Lovable position on the Gudvangen fjord. The Gudvangen hotel is near (5 minutes by walk) if anything is needed, and the bathroom, even if used by more than one room, is always kept very very clean. Would definitely suggest!

The room is large and quiet. It is also recommendable that it is with a reasonable price considering its location. It was a satisfied stay in general.

The room seems to be newly decorated so there are still some smell left in the room.
