Rental was great! Could you promise good weather😂. Rain 8 of 10 days and really bad fishing. But sure enjoyed 2 days of sunshine 😀 thanks for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Owner was very responsive. Check in easy. Comfortable bed, lots of towels and linens. Shallow sandy beachfront with canoe, kayaks and fire pit.

Our stay was simply wonderful. The home was super clean with nice amenities, the setting is spectacular, and we were close to many other activities, including Lake Michigan beaches and hiking trails. We would highly recommend a stay on Platte Lake!

A very peaceful, beautiful property that is situated so perfectly for sight seeing in the region. The quality of the gardens, decks, deck furniture, boats, life jackets, beach and lake water exceeded our expectations. The views of the lake are very good - both inside and outside the home. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the home. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was nicely furnished. The bathroom was spotless and well lit. As it is pet friendly, there were no area rugs, making the feel of the interior a little austere. It is simply, but comfortably furnished. The host was most attentive, checking that we arrived without issue. Over-all, a delightful stay in a gorgeous environment!

Beautiful lake property, also has a guest house. Much bigger than it looks. We loved that the owner left an activity book with all of their favorite things to do in the area! We went on the Old Indian Trail, Empire Bluff Trail, and went to Port Betsie to see the lighthouse. All were excellent! There are also kayaks and a canoe. Great property and location!

We enjoyed our quick getaway with our pup. While it wasn’t peak time it was great for us as our pup is nervous away from home. The waffle maker didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed a canoe ride and hiking Old Indian Trail.

My husband and I (and our pup Archie) came for some much-needed R & R and to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. We fell in love with the location as soon as we arrived! The wooded private drive leading to a large yard that is beautifully landscaped and the cutest little guest house! The owner called to check in with us right as we arrived to make sure all was good – and it was! The home is beautiful, so clean and welcoming! Of course, the first thing we noticed as we entered the home was the gorgeous view of the lake! Although we had extremely cold temps, rain and very high winds for most of our trip we did several road trips and enjoyed just “chilling” in the house – (the views are awesome no matter the weather!) and we were still able to get a canoe ride in and enjoy some time on the deck relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the gorgeous lake! We also managed to get in some hiking and some visits to Glen Arbor and Empire – 2 of our favorite towns that are only about a 20 min ride. The three days with the rain and high winds provided magnificent views of Lake MI. We were only able to stay 4 days on this trip – BUT will be planning an upcoming trip (hopefully Oct 2023) for the entire week! It is already giving us something to look forward to! Everything about this experience was excellent!

This is the second year we traveled to Stephen’s property for our wedding anniversary. We absolutely love it and enjoy coming up every year! As always, Stephen is great and the views are impeccable. We bring our pups and they love swimming in the lake. See you next year!

This place is in the most amazing location! The views are breathtaking and the accommodations are great. We found the place to be very clean and stocked with all the necessary amenities. The location is a perfect hub for biking, hiking, and kayaking by day and delicious dining and campfires by night. Across the week we did some of each! If you're looking for great views and a central location to all the adventures the Sleeping Bear Nation Lakeshore offer, this is the spot! We would definitely return.

Our group of two couples found the cottage comfortable, spacious, and in a perfect location for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes. We enjoyed all the paddling and hiking within 15 minutes of the cottage and appreciated the kayaks available with the rental. If there wasn't so much to do nearby, we could have spent the week just enjoying the view across the lake. Owner Stephen was responded promptly to all communications and called as we arrived to be sure that check in had gone smoothly.

This property is located on a nice spot on Platte Lake. It is also just two minutes away from the National Lakeshore. The owner is responsive to questions. You will also find that the kitchen is well-equipped as well. We will definitely spent time here again in the future.

Unfortunately because of work we arrived late and then within an hour or so of arriving we received a message from home that we needed to leave. So we were at the property for just a very short time. Not long enough to really explore. But reading a few excerpts from the guestbook it’s obvious people truly enjoy their stay. And the lake is beautiful. Stephen provided very precise instructions and information about activities in the area. He was very responsive when it came to communicating.

The description was spot on. The location was perfect for Frankfort and the surrounding towns. Neighborhood was quite. Lots of water activities available. Game cupboard could use an upgrade. Owner was easy to work with and accessible.

This was our second stay at this wonderful home on Platte Lake! And we hope to return again next year! The home has everything you need to have a wonderful vacation in this beautiful area of Michigan. Stephan is an absolute joy to work with and goes out of his way to ensure your visit at their home is a delight! While we had anticipated venturing out and exploring some of the ideas in the prepared local activity book, we found ourselves more drawn to the beach right out the door from the home. This home is a treasure! Charming, comfortable, quiet and minutes from so many “ Pure Michigan” attractions!

My family has stayed at this property multiple times over the last 10+ years. Each and every time has been a positive experience, gets better each stay, and keeps us coming back. Location is ideal; situated on an ideal sized lake (big enough to not seem busy/noisy, small enough to not be always seems rough/choppy), perfect location on the lake (shallow for perhaps 100+ yards - perfect for younger kids and pets), neighbors are quiet, perfect location to access other lakes, towns, restaurants, shopping, bike/hiking tails, wineries/vineyards, and many other things to do. The home(s) itself sits away from the main road (nice and quiet, space enough to keep the kids and pets safe), is always cleaned well and has all the amenities required, so do not need to overpack. On top of a great property and location, the owner is the absolute best. Very attentive, detailed, responsive, has great recommendations and always, always a pleasure to speak with. You will not regret staying here; a perfect spot, property and owner to ensure you can relax, regain some balance and recharge.

My family had a fabulous week at Stephens’s house. He was so easy to communicate with and so accommodating & helpful. The house is great and the beach is beautiful! My kids loved it! Our group of four (two couples) had a wonderful visit. The location was a great jumping off point to see the surrounding area, but we also loved spending time at the house - coffee on the porch, fires right on the lake, taking the kayaks out on the water. Water was too cold for swimming during the first week of May, but would be the perfect spot to swim and float during the summer months. Would definitely book again!
